actually she was a lyric mezzo soprano. you can tell because she her belting range and chest voice end in the upper middle of the fifth octave and the sensitivity and lachrymose quality in her voice.
MB2 if she were a soprano she would be able to hit higher in her belting range before folding into her head voice or falsetto. her vocal weight and range do not spell soprano in any sense. she should have been able to sing in full voice up to an A5. she couldnt do that.
caciquepadilla maybe she didnt want to hit higher, just because a singer sing a note doesnt mean they cant hit other notes she probably did that by choice or if the song needed that note different singers sing songs different but that doesnt mean that singer cant hit that note or vice versa
If only Aaliyah had more time to create more of these types of songs and showcase more of her vocal ability.
