      @@sigma4455 Possibly, there is like a little material pully on the bottom of the covers and even they don't help. I much prefer magnet covers.

    Hi Eden, would you mind describing the sound in the highs region? Clarity, detail, sparkling with cymbals, etc.

    • @EdenAudio

      Hard to say really as we all hear things differently. Pylon loudspeakers certainly are not bright and nor are these. I find they don't sound how you think they are going to sound in general. I would say they are quite airy, realistic, spacious and not metallic/thin sounding. On a separate note I think they do need a long run in as bass presence is not there where brand new, quite a long run in period before the bass really fills out.
      Easy to place and not fussy.

    • @martyn_g

      @@EdenAudioapparently, according to Pylons website, they need a 18sqm room as a minimum- what was your findings?

    • @EdenAudio

      @@martyn_g I think you can get away with a smaller room, the room they are in is about 11sqm but is quite well damped with acoustic panels and there are no problems and they are driven by an amplifier with excellent control (keces S300) and again there are no problems with boomy bass etc. In fact I have also found that the closer you sit to these speakers the better they sound. Most pictures I have seen of demo rooms with these speakers the listener is sitting far away in a large room, but I have found if you sit right up close to them they sound absolutely amazing, in fact it sounds like you are wearing a pair of headphones.

  • @martyn_g

    Did you experiment with switching the speakers left to right? I heard them with the tweeter’s inboard…

    • @EdenAudio

      I tend to keep mine on the outside to be honest as I feel it makes the sound stage appear larger as I like that kind of effect, a nice soundstage,easy placement of instruments, good left to right separation with good spacial glues (how holographic the sound appears.)

  • @TheNaka9

    Great video!
    Do you think they would work in a 18sq meter room? In your experience, what is the recommended distance to the front and side walls?
    I am curious about the Jade 20 but the size of that mid-woofer scares me a bit... it could lead to a boomy bass, being so close to the floor.
    Can you please comment on this matter?
    Thanks :)

    • @EdenAudio

      Oh yes definitely! The room they are in is about 14sqm and they are perfect. As I said in the video they don't sound how they look. That size of the bass unit filled me with dread but I was surprised at how it sounded as they focus more on the midrange, it is not boomy at all.
      In fact they need a good run for that bass to fill out a bit more, but it is never boomy. They are front ported so no problems. They are some stands for them but I haven't tried these yet as I am happy with them, again, no boom at all.
      I use them with a very good power amplifier the Keces Audio S300 but Pylon also use valve amplifiers. The room also has some treatment.
      But I must stress they don't sound like they look like they will sound.

    • @martyn_g

      I’d imagine the Pylons would work better up against a rear wall, having no port at the rear - the Lintons need ALOT of room otherwise you get flabby bass.

  • @bodhiveeren

    This has nothing to do with your review but for this kind of money I would expect an aluminum basket not a steel one for the bass speaker cmon Pylon!
    I was interested in this speaker because I sounded good on YT but I lost interest . Oh and did you see how they put together the crossover? What has happened to critical reviews? Thanks for the review anyways.

      @@EdenAudio Thank you for replying that put a smile on my face it is not so much about knowing more but steel loudspeaker baskets are the cheapest to produce and they are not the only ones asking serious money for it. You could have looked at how they assambled the crossover and would have seen what I mean. A litle research goes a long way.

      @@bodhiveeren From cars, to houses, to electronics some corners will get cut here or there, it business, it's life, products have to meet a price point. We now live in a time where geniuses on the internet think they can do it better for cheaper, or they have the miraculous power of knowing how a product sounds by looking at it🤣 I ignore both groups.

    • @bodhiveeren

      @@EdenAudio Yes and rightly so but my critisism stands and I now realise that you run a shop and that explains a lot and there is no need to belittle someone`s opinion as you know nothing about me.
      Meeting a price point is a lame excuus for overpricing hifi equipment and many of this brand`s speakers are now sold for a much lower price and that says enough for me.

      @@bodhiveerenI just took a look. The woofer seems to be stx made, well design reasonably priced woofer. I had used it in my projects. There is no issue with this driver. Seel basket has extra pressed reinforcement. No ringing, no audiable issues with these drivers. Crossover is OK, for this price point. Tweeter even has a Janzen cross caps in the filter. Montage is little bit diy, but this is fine. Some prefer this old fashioned style over PCB.
