Tinashe’s last album 333 was so good! As for Chloe I think her and Halle should’ve made another album together before they went independent. The ungodly hour was a bomb ass album!
Frrrrrr that ungodly hour album was too good. This why Chloe new album flopped. She went into a completely different direction, when we know she has too much talent for that basic bad bih music😭

Music industry doesn’t give enough shine to certain artists and it leads to toxic fandoms declaring things “flops” before it even gets started. And tbf a lot of us Gen Z participate in this, as we’re perpetually online too much, but tbf a lot of younger millennials do this exact shit too, but most of them have grown out of that mindset, and they didn’t go immediately to twitter to air out their opinions on something they just heard.
Millennials had it on MySpace, and other legacy social media, between fandoms back then. That just bled into other social media by the time Gen Z got older too and they joined in the discourse. I feel like there were two schools of millennial: One group who became addicted to the internet through myspace, facebook, blogs, etc. and the other group who were on social media for a couple years or maybe stuck with it, but never let it consume them. They may only understand tech at a fundamental level similar to Gen Z. And Gen Z has more in common with that first group
The reason I don’t like the word flop anymore because they use that word to discredit artists they don’t like when they do no research on the artist, just because some of them not making music or you don’t hear from them doesn’t mean they flopped they most likely doing bigger and better things that don’t require spotlight
Another great example is Justine Sky’s “Collide” that song came out in 2014 and just recently has gotten viral/attention this past year or so. I first heard it around 2017 and had always hoped it reach mainstream appeal and look how it’s been flourishing now. Artists these days just need to believe in their talents and let the music speak for itself. It will eventually find its audience and purpose. Not everything needs to be a huge moment just be appreciative and celebrate the accomplishment of creating quality.
Love that song.... some artist just don't get the push they need. Thanks to social media these artist still have somewhat of relevance to the world because one single post makes them seen for the moment and not be unforgettable. there's definitely some truth there. I'm a 26 year old Gen Z fella, but I've always felt a kinship towards Gen X and their pop culture & music. Everyone’s not for everybody. A lot of popular artist I can’t get into … Drake, 21 Savage, Young Thug, Futute, The Weeknd ..etc And I also think even if the music is “bad” the labels are going to push it. Drake makes good music even though I don’t like it but I think labels investing in him helps. He literally owns the station where I live. Every other song is Drake whether it’s new, old, his song or one he is being featured. Mainstream really doesn’t give “organic” music a change. There are so many other artist that could be played on radio besides drake ..
