What an innovative idea! Broken rice can be reshaped via extrusion process to look like long Basmati rice except natural perfume! Our honourable PM was quick to adopt this and promised to supply such fortified rice under PDS to all ration shops by 2024.

Vitamins are sourced mainly from Non Veg process as you can easily see on Multi Vitamins tablets - they have a red circle ⭕ logo on their strip. I don't know why everyone don't have but mostly have and I got to know this after seeing the red non veg logo on a multivitamin tab strip and confirmed the whole story with my friend who is Chemist and have an experience of medicines manufacturing

For quality assurance, the fortified products have (f+) logo on the outer bag. And the fortified rice kernels are easily identifiable. As India has more cases on Anaemia, right now the rice is fortified with iron, which is gradually being distributed through PDS to the population which has higher cases of Iron deficiency anaemia.

@@SmallChangeLiving The only way to solve the problem naturally is to not eat white rice. White rice is not natural. They remove the parts with the natural vitamins to make white rice. This is how they put those vitamins back. Brown rice has a shorter shelf life, but does not require fortification, so there is a trade off. Shipping is a big problem due to the short shelf life of brown rice as well.
FSSAI please tell me what should farmer do to get nutrients? Do they need to sell their rice cheaper to govt and then govt will fortifie the rice and then sell back to farmer at higher price toget nutrition...I think its not long term remedy...why not get nutrient directly from the plants food??

I don't think consuming fortified rice is bad for non-anemic people. It is just nutritious rice for people like us who make use of rice in the giant portion of our diet. It's better we track how much macro/micro nutrients we get in our usual diet before trying to filter the rice, since it underwent a tremendous process to make, it seems😅. At least that's what I believe.
