You are so good! What I love about your teaching is "Don't worry, it will all come together"... and t is so true. Sometimes, they are happy accidents! Thank you for being so kind and generous with sharing your tricks. I appreciate you!
I've been learning furniture painting for almost 4 years, seen tons of tutorials and have finished a lot of furniture already, but it's amazing that there are still so many new things I can learn! And your videos are so super-helpful!!! The way you talk and teach is absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much!!! 🙏
I really appreciate your thoughtful comment 🙏 thank you so much for your kind feedback 💙 I really love to share new ideas and play around to create new techniques even from older ideas . I have so many creative ideas ( not all work lol 😂) but sometimes I am pleasantly surprised ! The best feeling is seeing others over come challenges and be successful with their projects so I wanted to create a channel with as much detail to techniques and instruction as I can 🤗🎨 Because I work full time outside of TH-cam, I try my best to improve my videos in any possible way I can and thank you so much for your kind words and support 💙
I want to thank you for teaching me so much and I LOVE all of your art work!!!!!!!! You have given me an outlet and you have taught me so many different unique ways to use my chalk paint. I spend most of my time taking care of my parents who both have dementia and because of you I have found a new creative outlet to help with my hardships in life. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I have a huge antique vintage trophy case that has been in my garage for quite some time and amazingly has stood the test of time because it is in mint condition. When we renovated our home about 7 years ago we went way over budget and therefore I could not decorate the way I wanted too. I have a huge nook in my living room that I would like to put the trophy case in as well as I want to paint the trophy case. I will be painting the nook a very dark gray or maybe even black and I would like the trophy case to blend into the nook as if it was built in and I would like for it to have a cast iron look to it as well as an antique look. I am just not sure what to do with the shelving as well as the four glass doors. There are two large doors with movable shelves and two smaller glass doors on the bottom. It will have a TV in it as it is going to be in the middle of the nook in our living room. I so wish I could magically bring you here to show me what to do with it. Your videos are a huge help! I also love seeing your awesome fur babies and listening to your soothing voice! I think I have watched almost all of your videos as well as saved many of them for use in helping with my projects. I have always loved furniture and decorating. When I was a very young teenager I always asked for furniture for Christmas and as a young adult I would decorate friends and family members homes. Unfortunetly life took me in a different direction but now that I am 50 years old I am not only starting to chalk paint my furniture pieces but also rearranging my furniture as I like to change things around for different looks. I am very new at painting and thanks to you I have learned so much and I am becoming me again. Hugs:) P.S. Sorry for the long comment!!!!
Hi Drue! Thank you so much for your kind words!!! I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying the videos and you are inspired to create your chalk painted furniture!!! Just give it a try and you will do great!! Thanks for your support!!!! 🙏🎨❤️

Christina, you are the queen of patina!! This piece is gorgeous. Thanks again for the close-up of that texture! And thanks for taking us on your paddle board break! Beautiful.
Nadine Connors ... thank you so much for your kind comment Nadine and thoughtful comment 🙏💚💚 I definitely want to try a blue Verdigris patina with copper effects 😉🎨
Hi Christina...wow....what a great combination of colors to achieve this looks, I like the saltwash on this one ....and the transfers add so much character to this piece. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time...Take care....stay safe...
Martine Bangs ... I really appreciate your thoughtful comment and support Martine 🙏💚💚 I did have some great fun with this project and each project enriches me more to create new ideas! I can’t thank you enough for all your kind feedback and support 🤗💚💚
I love absolutely everything you do and I love you never met you before and I am a life but I’m a 31-year-old woman with four children and I would love to have you as a mom while growing up you’re so inspirational I’ll look up to you God bless you
First time I’m watching you, and I love this video! Not only do I love the content but I love that there’s no crazy annoying music in the background your voice is very relaxing as you speak and the whole thing is just so informative thank you so much ...by the way taking us with you on your breaks on the water we are really a nice touch!
watched this video about dozen times before tried the technique myself. It came out completely different. Oh, well, at least I tried. Thank you so much for the tutorial. Love watching your videos!
Thank you so much for sharing your art with us. I love the look of this piece. You are definitely a brave soul. I would not have the nerve to use these colors but, I will now. Also, thank you for filming your breaks on the water. What a beautiful place you have. You are truly blessed and we can tell that you appreciate every moment. I am now a follower for life. Thank you Christina.
I have had a longtime affinity for Verde patinas. They are fresh, garden themed, and a fabulous canvas for the colors: coral, cantaloupe, a soft banana yellow, purple status, the herb greens, basil, chives, and parsley. 🧭 The Mississippi River is 10 miles due West, NW Tennessee, a different sort of "Water gear", working river of barges.
This piece i now so impressive! I am mesmerized by your process. The aged IOD transfers look like they were always there. I tried revamping thrifted furniture about 15 yrs ago...but what a failure. I did everything wrong. With your guidance I may try again! Thank you for your videos and instruction!
Hi Mary!!! Keep at it! I am always learning and sometimes I make something that does not turn out as planned! But great thing about chalk paint is you can paint over it!!! Please try chalk painting again I have been there! Would love to see your pieces. Thanks for your support to my channel!!! 💕🙏🎨❤️
A very beautiful project and an amazing transformation! Easy to follow steps and I enjoyed how everything was explained in a simple way, short and sweet to the point. Such a peaceful, soothing voice to listen to. Thank you for sharing!!!!

Christina, this is such a beautiful technique and is exactly what I'm looking for. This is my first time watching you and now I'm an addicted Subby! I saw a magazine photo of some beautiful antique doors that someone stood as a headboard. I want to recreate that look... with a twist. Of course, right? Hehehe... I'm adding textured wallpaper to mine and want to give mine this patina look. I've been watching TH-cam videos for days trying to find the perfect paint technique. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS! 💞 I can't wait to complete my headboard doors.

Definitely one of my favorites! I want to try the technique on a piece (little intimidating) to see. I’ve used your stencil technique with layering the colors and it has made such a difference. I appreciate your work so much.
Thanks a lot for tour explanation. I was watching randomly some of your videos and I am so glad I did. I have been looking for a while some clear techniques for oxidation effect. Your video is realy clear and gave me the confidence to try it. I would have been worried to water the wood so much. The result is fab. I can't wait to try.
Maya Gaudinat ... thank you so much Maya for your thoughtful comment 🙏💚 So glad to hear the video has been helpful for you to feel inspired and try ! 🤗🎨
Good evening Christina! I absolutely LOVE this! I just picked up a new old piece that this would look great on. I am excited to see how it goes. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
This is a show stopper! Your work is absolutely gorgeous and your tutorials are so easy to follow. Also....just want to say you live in a beautiful region! I'm not sure I could get anything done with a break area like that!
Love the beautiful work you did on this lovely piece. I would love to be so talented!! At 71 I think I missed the boat but love watching your techniques. Have a blessed day!
Hi Gayla!!! You can totally do it!! 71 is the new 60! 💪❤️Just give it a whirl! Remember if you don't like it you can repaint it!! Thanks for supporting my channel it means alot!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🎨🙏
Gayla Graydon No, no, Gayla ! Don’t say that because I am not too far from that myself ! LOL - even if you want to just paint for fun, go thrifting & get a piece of inexpensive furniture or even a mirror or picture frame - give it away when you’re done if you don’t have a place for it - it will be fun & someone will really appreciate it ! 😊
Beautiful Job. I have never liked the drippy look on furniture. But I like this look because of what you did by brushing it upward. Love watching your videos.♥️
Hi Regeina! Thanks again! Yes the drippy look can be messy so my take on it was to brush upwards to minimize. It’s the fading the paint naturally does with this technique that makes it very organic. Thanks again for your support!!!! ❤️🙏🎨
I love this piece of furniture!!! I also love the aged look that you are giving it! I’m happy you decided to record this because yes I would have been scared to use those colors as a newbie! Drue❤️🌻🐾🐕🦺
wow Cristi😮 is a beautiful piece and you did a great job, I look beautiful 😍😍, I love your works, you are a good teacher, you explain everything in detail and you are grateful for it. Congratulations 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻, greetings and blessings ✌🏻😘🇲🇽

Absolutely luv this piece .. i am going to give it a try on a hutch I have,,,, thank you for so very generously showing your technics.. very inspirational xx
Hi! I've watched this video 5 times and counting. I want to do this technique on my queen size guest bed. With those exact colors you used. Waiting for the salt to arrive, I've got everything else! Love your video, your amazing soothing voice. And thanks for the trip outside! And thank you for all the details. This look is stunning! Wish me luck girl!💖💖
Laura Ferrante ... that’s fantastic Laura 💚🙌 I think you will do amazing 😉 I have had to watch videos a few times as well, it gets the creative energy going and it’s excellent for studying the fine details! Any chalk paint brand will do the same with colours similar as well 👌 It is a little messy but just have old towels or good paper towels or a drop cloth if you have one. Just remember it will look a bit weird at first but I promise it will look beautiful 🤗🎨 If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤍🤍
This is STUNNING!!! It`s art not only painting some piece of furniture! And the adding of the transfers, the way you made them a part of the furniture, I just looove it! You are such an inspiration to me, now all I have to do is looking for some furniture to transform:) I already did a dining table using your ragging technique and a custom glaze following your `recipe`:) Thank you for sharing your work with us!
Absolutely amazing. When you weathered the stencil I thought Oh No, but of course, it looked fab. Thank you so much. I lovely you beautifully calm voice too!
I love your talent. I too have used years of chalk paint on pieces. I think I heard you were a dental hygienist? I was in the dental field for over 25 years and am now retired at the beautiful beach in Washington state. Keep up your videos please. 👏🏼✌️👍Vicky
OH MY WORD ! THIS is phenomenal !!! I have just ruined my chalk painted china cabinet with a really bad top coat...and have been looking for something to make it worthy of not going to the curb. I was going for a silky smooth finish and not a distressed look, but it didn't come out that way....but this 'distressed' look is definitely on another level. So unique and olde worldly-ish...lol It's just beautiful ! I'm quite sure it's not as easy as you make it look...yet, I think it has more room for 'error' than the finish I was trying to achieve. Thank-you so much for sharing this. How perfectly timely for me. I've been a little choked up about making such a mess of my cabinet...but this gives me hope. It's simply stunning.
Annie o ... thank you so much Annie for your thoughtful comment and kind words 🙏💚 I really hope you give this technique and style a go! I learned from my mistakes so I am proud of all of them and definitely had a few when I started to paint furniture especially trying to achieve a certain look. I like to encourage creativity and if I can do it so can you!! 🤗🎨 Remember it’s only paint, I have painted over many pieces with different looks and designs. I am actually going to be sharing a tutorial soon with me painting over my very first piece of furniture I ever painted 😱 I actually don’t dislike it but I am not thrilled with it lol 😂 But I wanted others to feel that it’s okay not be in love with your first pieces of painted projects and wanted to share my first experiences with the channel. Tutorials I have watched and really appreciated and wanted to create something similar, I would watch the tutorial several times over time and that sometimes really helps! I would also recommend trying a small project like a picture frame or small lamp with this technique and get a feel of the overall experience and paint. Your china cabinet already has a base so definitely give it a try and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤗💚
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom Thank-you so much for your well thought-out response. I am not a novice when it comes to furniture refinishing. I've been up-cycling furniture since before up-cycling was a word....hence my shock at the disaster I had created. lol Having said that....this is my first project with chalk paint. I managed to apply the chalk paint flawlessly and was pleased with the direction it was taking. The topcoat created a splotchy finish. I took it down with a #0000 steel wool...but the second coat only made it worse. I don't know where I went wrong, but would love to understand exactly where I did. Do you have any tutorials on an interesting black based finish ? I think your lead would be most valuable. I'm a new subscriber, but a short-cut would be appreciated...even though I intend to watch them all. Right now, I'd just like to get my dining room back in order. ❤
Annie o ... based on your description of your China cabinet there are two ways I would go about correction. First black is tricky and well Most dark tones in the chalk finish , sounds like it was a smooth slick application and you loved the rich character it brought to your piece! I say that only on speculation and imagination of your reply 🤔🎨 I would lightly sand it , very light sand with a 300 or finer sandpaper. That would really only remove any top coat finish you applied. Then I would use the same paint mix 50% water to paint in a plastic container and apply one or two coats , probably two thin coats on top. I would use a Lacquer finish and I also recommend a water base Lacquer finish with the same plan, 50% water to Lacquer and apply at least two coats! The water will help level your paint back to original base finish you achieved and the Lacquer finish mix will level better and no interfere with the rich tone ! If you have a photo you can send me that would really help too! My email address is thereclaimedheirloom@outlook.com Or you can fine my account name on Facebook and send me a message and any attachment there too! Hope this helps! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤗🎨💙
@@TheReclaimedHeirloom I can't imagine how I overlooked this. Thank-you EVER so much for all your valuable expertise and advice. I fussed around with it some more. Used 400 grit sandpaper the #0000 steel wool, to take it back down, then applied topcoat again. It's not 100%, but I'm pleased enough with it. Thanks heaps for taking the time to respond. ❤

Maya Gaudinat ... thank you so much Maya for your thoughtful comment 🙏💚
So glad to hear the video has been helpful for you to feel inspired and try ! 🤗🎨
I've never used water that has run over transfers. Apparently, that doesn't cause any damage to them?
Love your classes! Thanks, Christina!
Christina ‼️‼️‼️ you’re amazing this video is phenomenal.... you are so talented and such an amazing teacher. Thank you again for sharing with us
You are so welcome! 🙏🎨❤️
Hi Allyson!!! I really love how this piece turned out!!! Thank you for the kind words it really means a lot!!! I hope you have a nice weekend!! 🎨🙏❤️
Simply magnificient, Christina!
Houston Calhoun ... thank you so much Houston for your thoughtful words 🙏💚🤗
I love this piece of furniture!!! I also love the aged look that you are giving it! I’m happy you decided to record this because yes I would have been scared to use those colors as a newbie! Drue❤️🌻🐾🐕🦺

Absolutely Stunning!!❤
What an awesome and exciting video. Just marvelous!
This is waaay beyond awesome!❤️❤️❤️
Laura Ferrante ... that’s fantastic Laura 💚🙌
I think you will do amazing 😉
I have had to watch videos a few times as well, it gets the creative energy going and it’s excellent for studying the fine details! Any chalk paint brand will do the same with colours similar as well 👌
It is a little messy but just have old towels or good paper towels or a drop cloth if you have one. Just remember it will look a bit weird at first but I promise it will look beautiful 🤗🎨
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤍🤍
Awesome and absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Martha Burke ... thank you so much Martha for your thoughtful comment 🙏🤗❤️
Thanks so much 😊❤️🙏🎨
I am loving your videos!! Adding that scenery was a great idea to relax.
Hi Olga! Thank you so much! 🙏🎨❤️
So so so beautiful!! 😍😍
Hi Alice! Thank you! For the kind words!!! ❤️🙏🎨
Absolutely beautiful!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Liliana Rigoni ... thank you so much Liliana 🙏 for your kind comment 🤗💚💚
Love, love, love this look!! Thanks for sharing this technique.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful work. I could definitely live with this piece.
Thank you very much! ❤️🙏🎨
I love your talent. I too have used years of chalk paint on pieces. I think I heard you were a dental hygienist? I was in the dental field for over 25 years and am now retired at the beautiful beach in Washington state. Keep up your videos please. 👏🏼✌️👍Vicky
Thoroughly look forward to watching your videos. Amazing work😊
Hi Marilyn! Glad you like them! Thanks for supporting my channel!!! Greatly appreciated ! 🎨🙏❤️❤️

Hi Tammy! Thank you for the kind words! ❤️🙏🎨
You are a creative genius! Love this.
Kathy Caldwell ... I really appreciate your thoughtful comment Kathy 🙏💚 thank you so much ☺️
Beautiful !! I haven't watched one video that I didn't absolutely loved. Thanks !!
So unique and olde worldly-ish...lol
It's just beautiful !
Annie o ... thank you so much Annie for your thoughtful comment and kind words 🙏💚
I really hope you give this technique and style a go!
I learned from my mistakes so I am proud of all of them and definitely had a few when I started to paint furniture especially trying to achieve a certain look.
I like to encourage creativity and if I can do it so can you!! 🤗🎨
Remember it’s only paint, I have painted over many pieces with different looks and designs. I am actually going to be sharing a tutorial soon with me painting over my very first piece of furniture I ever painted 😱
I actually don’t dislike it but I am not thrilled with it lol 😂
But I wanted others to feel that it’s okay not be in love with your first pieces of painted projects and wanted to share my first experiences with the channel.
I've been up-cycling furniture since before up-cycling was a word....hence my shock at the disaster I had created. lol
Having said that....this is my first project with chalk paint.
First black is tricky and well
Most dark tones in the chalk finish , sounds like it was a smooth slick application and you loved the rich character it brought to your piece!
I say that only on speculation and imagination of your reply 🤔🎨
I would lightly sand it , very light sand with a 300 or finer sandpaper.

Wow! LOVE this cabinet you painted. So beautiful. Just found your page. I am so ready to change my home and have been painting a few things with chalk paint. I have lots to learn!
