Sir in this mock interview, you told Regression is perfomed before sanity but sanity comes first in which we check the modified change or basic functionality is working fine or not after that only we will go for regression testing for other impacted modules
How you can you do reggresion testing first its not possible first is smoke testing its a type of testing which we can check the stability of features which were build for and then sanity where we the check behaviour of application and its subsets of regression testing so its done after sanity

Yes. Sanity/ Smoke test is done first. If a build is unstable, it wont be feasible to further carry out tests on it

Smoke testing is subset of regression testing, sanity testing is the suhset of acceptance testing.
According to me its opposite, sanity is subset of regression.
