In my 60 years of owning cars, I have bought only 9 cars, mostly Toyota and VW, and they were really great value for money, with solid build, reliability and low maintenance. I reluctantly sold my VW Jetta after 27 years and compared the current crop of motor cars available in 2024. I took the plunge and bought a Suzuki Baleno GLX Automatic because I'm getting too old for clutches and gear sticks. Wow!! NO regrets. It is simply superb even though I am just using the basics. I have yet to unravel and utilise the magnificent array of hi-tech features.
The VW 'Vivo' has wind up windows (remember those?), little stalks to adjust the mirror (so your partner can smell your armpits). Nope - sorry - the Polo 'Vivo' is now a 15-year-old car. The Baleno is brand new. And the Baleno has a heads-up display and six airbags. Not even a dream for the 'Vivo'. Baleno GLX R291 000. 'Vivo' Highline - R304 000. Boom!
I prefer the GLX. I've been seeing a lot more Starlets than Balenos, This morning I saw a GL Baleno close up, wow, it's a small-ish car in real life compared to seeing it in videos. And I saw a Mahindra XUV700, something I thought I'd never see Also, I saw about 4 Haval Jolions parked in the same parking lot, so Haval is definitely winning the pockets of many SAns
Polo does it for me though mine was stolen but I would still go for it if I had to decide between these cars and I'm not brand loyal, it's just that VW is a simple and beautiful car. Interior I give to Suzuki and Toyota
It's true Polo Vivo is a good car because of its simplicity it's not complicated it's just simple I think just from my prospective the Polo Vivo is underestimated
I’m not a fan of the polo vivo but I’m glad you gave a fair review..the TSi is much much more relevant that the vivo and VW will be forced to phase it out because it’s just not appealing
It's like you heard the question that has been roaming in my head for the past couple of weeks. Needless to say (but for the sake of those who haven't noticed) the startled and the baleno are identical twins. The only question I'm still struggling to find a definite answer to, is which brand makes the engine?
Baleno anyday and everyday yep i am been basis cos i currently driving one yep the MY2023 GLX auto and it's happy days the spec and da petrol saver and it's so spacious inside🗣️🗣️👌💯👏
People might think I'm crazy😅 but i choose the vw polo Vivo because it kind of feels like a classic car if you drive it which the susuki and Toyota doesn't give but if you want that sort of classic and modern in one car i would choose the vw polo Vivo but it is up to the buyer each one of us has different tastes in cars.
That's true And VW is beloved by many South Africans I mean I am a South African myself and the Vivo did become a sort of tradition to South Africa I mean the Vivo is just that perfect balance between classic and modern which I love and to me that is special
It is true but again the Polo Vivo is old school I don't care much about the radio as long as it can play music I am happy and if I do want a smart radio I can install the fansy new Android touch screen radio and problem solved
Then it will not be fair for the Starlet and Baleno because they don’t have “GT models”. It a like for like comparison. Even so the car lacks so many things that you get on the Baleno 🥴😅
Baleno. Its the original, has best features, costs less, most spacious, most economical, cheapest to insure and will outlast the VW with minimal to no issues during its lifetime. VW if you like to tune motors, risk the thrill of being hijacked or stolen while enjoying consistent mechanical and electrical problems during your ownership.
Not true my friend has the 2013 Polo Highline and have the car since new and they drive alot and the car has over 524000 km on the clock and the car never gave them problems not even electrical problems and the car still drive's. But you are correct they're very dangerous to drive in South Africa they tried to hijack my friend's Polo 4 times I don't know how he still has the car but he still has it😂

Any day, VIVO looks stunning for me 🙌
But value for money, most definitely Suzuki takes the cake
I would choose the Baleno.
The Baleno is underated
Facts
Polo is a high risk so I will definitely go for balino nd i love it's interior👌
The VW 'Vivo' has wind up windows (remember those?), little stalks to adjust the mirror (so your partner can smell your armpits). Nope - sorry - the Polo 'Vivo' is now a 15-year-old car. VW stay ripping off people,
I bought the Polo Vivo
It’s expensive but it’s worth it
Starlet for me
Baleno my brother!
I prefer the GLX.
I've been seeing a lot more Starlets than Balenos, This morning I saw a GL Baleno close up, wow, it's a small-ish car in real life compared to seeing it in videos. And I saw a Mahindra XUV700, something I thought I'd never see

Yeah people prefer Toyota but I don’t think it’s for long. Lol to the XUV700😂
Design Vivo
Safety Baleno
Practically Baleno coz wow service is expensive
Price Baleno
Im getting the Suzuki 🎉🎉🎉
Best decision 🥳
Plz bro can u do more vids. I honestly like your car reviews bcz you absolutely cover everything about a car.
At least toyota corolla quest
Polo does it for me though mine was stolen but I would still go for it if I had to decide between these cars and I'm not brand loyal, it's just that VW is a simple and beautiful car. Interior I give to Suzuki and Toyota

Keep up the good work brother we are behind you my brother. Can you please do the Citron C3 i will like to see the car more
I will try to find one, Citron dealerships in my area are very few
Baleno, it is for me
Exterior i prefer design of the polo interior i prefer baleno

The 1,5L is from Suzuki same thing as with the Urban Cruiser
@@Cars24NhlakaniphoMpungose That's interesting. It must a reliable engine for Toyota to trust it with their reputation. 👌👌👌
Baleno is showing starlet and vivo FLAMES
Baleno anyday and everyday yep i am been basis cos i currently driving one yep the MY2023 GLX auto and it's happy days the spec and da petrol saver and it's so spacious inside🗣️🗣️👌💯👏
You love the Baleno😅😅
@@Cars24NhlakaniphoMpungose all thanks to your videos bafo i saw the light and purchased one 👌💯💯👏👏👏
What kind of usb does it use
Starlet does it for me
Nice review man

This is valid, we understand. The polo VIVO is still the people’s car
That's true And VW is beloved by many South Africans I mean I am a South African myself and the Vivo did become a sort of tradition to South Africa I mean the Vivo is just that perfect balance between classic and modern which I love and to me that is special
This is just a follow up message I just want to say that I know not everyone will agree
Vivo entry level radio is turn off. And Baleno has a lot of features especially top spec and with change.
It is true but again the Polo Vivo is old school I don't care much about the radio as long as it can play music I am happy and if I do want a smart radio I can install the fansy new Android touch screen radio and problem solved
Vivo is underspeced for its price. Good car but balino for me
Toyota for me it has a higher resale value and it’s engine stands the test of time.
When you get a chance compare that to the resale value of suzuki and you will be in awe.😅
Definitely Baleno
the suzuki baleno is nice
VW Polo Vivo
Best resale value
Best ride quality
Best street cred
Best looks
Easiest to modify for both aesthetics and performance
Without my bias to suzuki i would prefer the starlet
But for practicality Baleno all the way
🤝🏾
Mina chief i take the polo vivo all day everyday. ukuthi nje I'm not sure how reliable is their automatic gearbox.
🤝🏾
Baleno for me
I prefer the vivo
A baleno 💖💖
Ay baleno all the way gents😊
Baleno GLX
Baleno for me
👌🏽
Id never buy a polo vivo even if it was 50k cheaper. Suzuki all the way
As a brand loyalty member, I felt like you deprived the Vivo from winning this one. Vivo has a top of the range Vivo GT producing 81kw
Then it will not be fair for the Starlet and Baleno because they don’t have “GT models”. It a like for like comparison. Even so the car lacks so many things that you get on the Baleno 🥴😅
@@Cars24NhlakaniphoMpungose True you have a point
At a hefty price though
@@michaelflinn7784 yes true, but it all comes down to brand loyalty. My first ever car was VW, I like the brand
I will die before i buy any other car than a VW😂❤
😂😂😂
Baleno🙌
You forgot to compare the quality of the ride 😅
Baleno
4 speed gearbox...did i hear correctly? At this day and age
You heard that correctly😂
I tested it, it really works fine unless you are a racer which is not what the car is intended for.😅
Baleno. Its the original, has best features, costs less, most spacious, most economical, cheapest to insure and will outlast the VW with minimal to no issues during its lifetime. Balino
Vivo is overpriced does not come close to the others
The design will be determined by you 😭😭😭😩😩😩😩
Starlet and belino are the same car
Basically
..
