My dad was a contractor and used to work for an older couple who were huge Elvis fans. Their whole mobile home was decked out with Elvis memorabilia. I wonder how many kids know who he is nowadays 😄
This is so interesting. Smart idea to use the drawers of furniture destined for the garbage bin as extra boxes to collect more garbage. I don’t know that I’d have thought of that.
Makes it easy to put things in, easy to carry out, & then easy to stack and/or if we couldn't break apart the dresser to put the drawers back in with the garbage.
Great job and some pretty nice finds. Seems that there was a huge Elvis fan in that household. By the way, Renée: tomorrow another neat package with a "famous" person in it will be on it´s way to Bloomsbury. After your "complaints" on too many railway stocks it will be some German stuff again 🙂. And: it´s nothing to get speechless, I think that you´ve seen these items before. 😁 Greets from GER, U.
Hello Renee. I’m glad you have that mask on that is way to much dust. Elvis I’m not a fan but I get why people loved him. My Mom sure did. Some cool little finds. And a lot of work done. The mundane side of clean outs - but everything you open could have something valuable - so it's fun to ride along. Looking forward to seeing the basement! Thanks for the video and have a great day! P.S. That dresser was massive! Maybe you can take a chain saw to it - to ease removal - as long as it's trash.
Like you said, you do have to look in everything just in case. That dresser... it was not easy to take apart, that's for sure! We talk about things being made "cheaply" today, but at least they are probably much easier to break down!
Am surprised that someone would not repurpose that dresser! What if you put it out “for free” then just ad it last to the dumpster if no one thinks they have scored on a freebie before you have to pay to have it removed?😏
I'm loving this series but a furniture flipper would have loved to make over the dresser and that would totally help y'all. People drive around looking on the side of the road for furniture like that.
Once they see the corners encrusted with mouse droppings and the stains from the rodent urine, no flipper would want to bring that stuff into their home.

Every hoarder keeps wire hangers and plastic bags. My mom saved empty containers and used plastic utensils, too. No Elvis, thank God. I keep a cardboard box for the week's donations to thrift shops, and a bagful of bags to recycle. Tina, Al's wife
What do you do with all the plastic and empty boxes? I hope you are able to recycle them or is that too much with the monumental job you have ahead of you? All that Elvis stuff! Once the house is almost empty you can do a do a video entitled ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.

Hi been following you often on for a while. Just wondering if you ever you ever decided what to do with those Civil War diaries, but they are saying to know what happened to them if you sold them or turned them over to the Civil War society.
Why do you not take the items that really need to be donated and place them at the curb or end of driveway and list it as free? Or have a charity come pick up the furniture. It seems a shame to throw away furniture even if it is from the 80's. It would save a heck of a lot of space in the dumpster for trash.
This isn’t our property, so we are not able to monitor “free end of driveway” items. We bag & donate the clothing that can be donated (those not eaten/urinated on by rodents).. that’s easier than dragging to the curb & hoping someone drives by this area.
