There's a reality with "side by side" utility vehicles like these CanAm ones, that users tend to forget: seat belts are there for a reason. Driving them at speed, you can hit a pot hole or even cattle you are moving. Without a seat belt, you can be ejected straight through the wind screen. If you are thinking "Oh I can brace myself with my mighty grip on the wheel or the grab bar" - what happens is: the momentum of your body weight uses your hold as a leverage point. Out you go! Restraints may be annoying to use when you're in and out all the time. But if the worst happens you'll really wish you had just clicked them on.
To think your maize is ready to be harvested in 2 weeks, while in NZ at 7:15pm wed 23rd of Oct our maize is getting planted 🤭 as for the Sunday video’s bringing the fun back…… we all know ur busy with the commitments you have going on so don’t stress about us, we will always be here. I'm seven years on the farm of my partner now, and i still have issues when cows go away. And i used to be a butcher, i've seen them dead ( never did the killing myself ) but those where cows i didn't know. When our cows go, i can't be around it...we raised them!
In Australian farms we use cattle grids between paddocks. There is a gate next to them for when you want to move stock around. Utes etc drive over the cattle grids but animals can’t walk on the slotted grid bars. Saves time opening/closing gates and making mud puddles
@@puirYorick a cattle grid is a Ute width hole in the driveway with iron rods across the ground. Animals can’t cross it as they would fall in. So next to this you would have a gate to open for stock to use. Stops opening / closing gates for utes to pass through less muddy puddles

You need to put the nuts on the drawbar ball tom, if for some reason the weight was at back of trailer it would lift the ball up and sheer that lynch pin and trailer would be off. Happened someone I know on a hill on a road going over a ramp.
Nice to see you welding, but keep in mind when welding on galvanized steel (dont know if that was galvanized or not, but anyways). The smoke coming from should really not be inhaled. No smoke should, but in particular that one. Can cause Zink fewer. Good video :)
Ya would have loved it years ago 🤠, 30 years ago, thats how all animals were moved, u would be walking them for miles, some times to sales yards or sheep ta nearest dip troughs or the mountains for summer. The youngest lads, would stand in house entrances & then pass out the animals through the fields, to stand in the next entrance 🐂
Hi Tom, an alternative for the gate issue is use a core drill and put in a removable steel post for ease of tractor movement and a short man / animal divert gate that can latch to a drilled hole in the steel (a_lah farmer P) so people can walk through.
The big question is, when can you harvest the maize silage. So wet round our way, it took two tractors to pull and another to push, then so much mud it caused a traffic diversion.
Hi Tom, Were you aware that dairy cows that have only been on grass and silage is selling for a major premium over beef cattle. It was featured on Sorted Food from London. I saw a rib steak that looked amazing 👏
For the new gates in the beginning. You can get gates whith a little "Dor" in them så you only open a part of the gate to get throug. Then you dont need to mowe ennything 😁
Looking forward to the Fun video's returning. I guess you missed my request on the last video. Holland/Germany video on Sunday. Hope this catches your eye.
I wondered what you decided on the Massey. I was hoping you bought it it would make a good feeding tractor but you could also use it in the field with your equipment it would handle everything you have.
Great video as always Tom, I think the cows were ready for a move looking at how keen they were to go through the gate. Hope the Ginger Warriors ankle gets better soon, those soft boots can be a bugger to keep clean though. 👍.
Great video Tom, and escape gaps are awesome as long as you dont put on weight lol. Serious note, we did the same but aloud 1 to be removed if a cow gets its head trapped. Yet again enjoyed
Hi Tom have you tride a Welsh Black straw on your problem cows it worked for me every time when I was milking cows. If its a good cow and you get it back in calf its better than selling it and having to find a replacment for her.👍
Luke and Anna….. Tom wears a light grey polo shirt with a blue logo on the farm but we can’t buy it. Can you influence Thomas Charles Pemberton pretty please!!! 😊

Hi Mr Farmer. I watched German/Dutch farmers over a decade ago. They had system where they used all their muck (pig) to decay and produce natural gas (methane). And used it to heat their sheds in winter. Is this a worthwhile pursuit in UK? The muck was still OK to spread.
Wouldn't need the heat in the UK. Cattle en masse produce a heap of natural body heat. They aren't getting -40° temperatures. I'd love to see Methane capture for other uses though.
@@classicambo9781 yes methane and in Scotland whisky produce 3 billion litres of alcohol. Produce another 3 billion for fuel. There is 150 years (and finding ever more) of petrol. Why don't you take some of that crushed concrete and make a little parking pad to park your equipment on, so your not in the mud and dragging it all over everything. Dig out the good dirt and fill in some of your low spots in the fields with it and use the bigger concrete chunks as a base to get rid of it and thane use the crushed concrete for a parking pad
Good to see Anna back Moving the cattle in the rain looked like so much fun. Are there grants for slurry stores available? Would you put a roof on it? A roof would save a fair bit of room on the old one, but would it make that much of a difference? Cheers Tom and gang. Great video as usual 👍👍
Hey Tom on your slurry stores can you not just add rings and go up ? I don’t know what the laws or regulations and restrictions are over there but it would seem to be the cheapest solution to add a few rings if it can be done.

Good idea Tom about the post but id suggest is make it so it can be pulled up so you don’t make entrance perminantly narrower.

Miss seeing your wife. Loved when she would occasionally make an appearance. Such a lovely woman 😊

The big question is, when can you harvest the maize silage. So wet round our way, it took two tractors to pull and another to push, then so much mud it caused a traffic diversion.

Before you add that post for the gate double check that the feed tractor will still make the corner.

Cut a hole in the new gate so you can hop through it have a piece to slide inside it to close the hole if you need ✌️🤔

I visited Pierre in 2012, we were harvesting and based in Blunt. Spent a lot of wet days at Lariat Lanes 😅
Why did you weld the post to the girder when you could have just welded two hangers?🤔🤔

Tom suppose you might know. Woodheads subsidery of Morrisons supermarkets
To, instead of climbing over the gate try opening it instead, revolutionary idea I know but worth a try.
😂😂😂
The latch is at the far end. Those are the hinges.
I would 100% recommend a-consult concrete slurry stores. Cheaper than steel and definitely feel a lot more solid. Plus it won't rot 🤔🤷
Please were your seat belt ANOTHER very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊😊😊
I love your videos which are mostly cattle.
Love the Ginger shuffle when you were moving the cows...🤣
