3:40 to 4:20 - Huzzah for the Drummer boy who first after watching his entire squad die from cannon fire, goes to rescue the fifer, 2) carries the fifer back to the British lines, then 3) goes back for his drum (which he abandons as a lost cause!) Well Done lad!

Mostly, the Brits ran like Hell was after them, although teresa's no real pursuit. The four light infantry companies posted the north end of the north bridge to keep thewau open for four other companies who were off search MAJBarret's housed bars for carts, wagons and spare wheels had spent an uncomfortable horror so watching Mass, Militia gathering top of the hill directly front of them. When the British burnt some barrels and gun carriages Concord greenbehindthem, the resulting smoke convinced the militia the redcoats were burning their town, and a force roghlyvequivalent to a full strength British regiment formed into road column and marched down the hill to the road, then wheeled left and continued toward the companies at the bridge, whose understandably flustered subalterns decided to adopt the street fighting drill they'd been practicing Boston and formed in a column of companies, each ib line, the10th's company in front. The sea was to fire a volley,if necessary, then file oft the right and left to reload What happened was the militia column bearing down on them with the Acton Companyin front, flying an old cavalry guidon fromMontrose's timeplayin"the white Cocade."looked to begetting dangerously closes the young officer commanding the foremost company ordered his en to freon the American column which was approaching at an oblique angle. The volley killed CApisaacDavisof Acton, his fifer and first sergeant and wounded the flag bearer. Barret ordered fire!"for God's sake fire!"It took moment for the mento step out to their right get a clear shot, but when they did, the volley of some hundred of militiamen ripped into the 10th's companies they were filing and broke them, never to reform for the rest of the day.Te light infantry scampered back over the bridge and made for the cover of a stone wall.A retarded kid trailing along behind the militia came upon a wounded red coat

It used to look so cheap and chintzy the 50's that the townspeople got to be fairly fierce about authenticity. Lexington had-and still has a company left over from the Centennial celebrations 1876, the "Putnam Phalax"Neatly turned out in the blue and buff of Washington and his staff. The Delaware National Guard used to send a companion the light blue uniform of Hazlett's delaware Regimentandthe VBoston Shriners sent an "Arab Band"in red trousers and bright red and green uniforms with their distinctive fezzesandenormous bristling mustaches. The drum major led his "battery of drums"with a huge scimitar!
