Sukey

"Sukey" Live @ Soutine - the first track from the new CD "Dancing Shadows" was the inspiration for the title of the album and takes you a funky hillbilly journey. "Sukey" honors my Cherokee ancestor who gave birth to the first Martha, I am the 3rd. The legendary Sukey lived in a cave on Raccoon Creek, West Virginia where she raised her 7 children alone. I heard stories about her all my life and I finally made a pilgrimage with my mother a couple of years ago to the famous cave that sits underneath the family cemetery. There is some powerful energy there and thus the album began. (With Manu Bertrand on dobro, Serge Samyn on bass, Urbain Lambert on guitar, and Bertrand Kifmoon Clouard on drums.
