Wow, this is the nerdiest setup video ever, in a good way! Nicely done. Not sure I learned anything from it, especially with both of you endorsing BSS, but it was cool to watch nevertheless.
Thanks! I'm not a BSS artist/exclusive, I have affiliate codes for various companies more in the reviewer side of things (tech youtube tends to do it well). I hope to show off other cool setups in the future!
Really enjoying the channel. I'm just curious, do have any info on the late, Steve Grossman's setup? He's one of my favorites. Love the channel. You have a decent tone on flute, btw. Peace
Great video! As a fellow sax flyer I'm wondering what you mean by small enough to hide. At what point during the process of flying might one be able to hide a horn? Like when you walk up to the gate and scan your boarding pass? Or later?
I recommend a yearly coa for all horns. For new tenors, I'd have someone at least look it over. Recently, I saw a ne selmer supreme with dented toneholes from the factory and another with holes in the brass
Thanks for the feature bro! Great hangin with you last weekend!
The gentle yet firm Dave-Pollack roasting was an exquisite note to end on 😂
If I can't best him on the bandstand, I gotta play a little dirty
The quality of your videos is insane! Loved how this one showed such an impressive player's simple but effective setup.
thank you! I hope to feature more setup soon
Excellent job! Keep the good work! Love your videos!
thank you!
Bro awesome video. Great footage.
Would love to see one of these for either Wenzl McGowan or Micheal Wilbur from Moon Hooch
ooh yes! Perhaps they'll tour around here 🤓
Great set up lesson.
Joel
thanks!
Chase Baird's horn!!!
i do need to do this...
Great video!
Well done Bro. Great reviews. Please what us your own current set up (Mouthpiece and reed, I know you play a Mark VI sax)
I agree. I appreciate the quality of this content👌🏾👌🏾
thank you! I hope to improve upon it

Ryan owns it! I'll have to ask him
@@SaxSpy Sweet. Thanks, man.
Practice spots.. 🤔.. you might be right.! I mean, I wouldn’t know , because I don’t practice! 🤣🤣. But.. it HAS happened when I play long gigs!

at the gate behind your back when they try to gatecheck
oh okay thanks
Do tenors in general need regular set up maintenance? Or is this specific to vintage (mk6) horns ?

@@SaxSpyWhat happened with those horns? Did Selmer refund them, or…?
@@Xavia_Dimoff nope, the repairman fixed it up face palming and the client was actually able to play it
@@SaxSpy Do you know if they told Selmer or just went ahead with the repairs?
@@Xavia_Dimoff im sure the shop didn't, unsure if client did
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What's minty mean?, I think I know but it's over-used. I'm an english language investor.
like a modern horn bought mint
Weird case! I've never seen a case that had the Bb, B, C, etc. face down!
I'm not sure what you mean, can you explain more?
Why don't you do one of the Masters, like Rollins, Bob Berg, Brecker, Dolphy, Mintzer, someone that we all actually care about!
Ive done michael brecker, chris potter, and a few others on my instagram
Bro what? Have you heard Ryan play?
Vinty Selmer Soloist? Hmmmm this is the first time I’ve heard that….
I ask for my horn to be placed in the closet as I board the plane.
do they usually do it? i save that as a backup if i cant get space above...
This is not necessary
rarely does music and art derives its value from utilitarian purposes
