    Japanese horse mackerel
    (真鯵/マアジ/Maaji)
    The total length of an adult fish reaches a maximum of 50cm.
    Migratory species swim in groups in the middle and bottom layers of the coast and offshore.
    Rich in protein and fat. It is also rich in DHA and EPA and has high nutritional value.
    Spotbelly rockfish
    (斑曹以/ムラソイ/Murasoi)
    Spotbelly rockfish is distributed throughout Japan except Hokkaido.
    It is in season from autumn to spring, and is characterized by its transparent white flesh.
    Spotbelly rockfish is delicious both boiled and sashimi.
    Marbled rockfish
    (笠子/カサゴ/Kasago)
    The season for this fish is from autumn to spring.
    It is distributed in the warm waters of the western Pacific Ocean, including the waters near Japan, and inhabits coastal reefs and underwater forests.
    The scales are easy to remove. The skin is thick and strong.
    Herring
    (鰊/ニシン/Nishin)
    The spawning season for herring occurs only in spring,
    in shallow waters less than 1m deep.
    Herring roe is called "kazunoko" and is eaten in Japan.
    Sardine
    (鰯/イワシ/Iwashi)
    In Japan, young sardines are often sold as processed products such as "shirasuboshi",
    "chirimen", and "kamaage".
