I lived in maharashtra as well as Telangana...Maharashtra is way ahead in terms of roads and hospitality. The experience you had was about remote area in Maharashtra obviously it will not be that good.

Bus costed us Rs. 600 per person. You can book it via your resort where you are staying or also online on Maharashtra govt. Websites. It can be done for solo also
