    Living in So Cal, an AGA is hugely impractical, but I desperately want one!

      @@mikemayers9353 But even the Total Control and Dual Control models use the heat-storage paradigm. They take hours to reach full temperature and then keep radiating that heat into the kitchen for hours after they're turned off. They're fine for cooler climates like Britain or the northern USA, but not so good for tropical climes.

    Is it hot to the touch all the time ? Wouldn't it be dangerous in a home with small children?

    • @seikibrian8641
      @seikibrian8641 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The outside does get warm, but not dangerously so. It's like having radiators in older homes; children lived with them for generations. In the case of the Dual Control model, it can be turned down to a "standby mode" for an even lower temperature, or turned completely off when not in use.

    Love it! But, because we live in So Cal too....we went with a AGA Legacy 36

      Questions! Where in So Cal are you? Where did you get your AGA? What kind of fuel? Was there a learning curve to learn to cook with it?

      @@Flwrfce First off this is the Original Cooker, this is the one we didn't get due to $$$$$ :( I apologize that I answered your question before I realized the video was the original AGA...oops.
      We live in Tehachapi, we bought the AGA Legacy 36" (Dual Fuel) through "Lowe's, Bakersfield" and the funny thing is that I knew more about the AGA than they did. AGA manufactures them to order in Europe. When we received the 1st one it arrived in freight packaging and the doors were dented, so that means it was dented when they packed it :( But no worries they sent another unit. All in all it took a couple months to get it. It wasn't difficult to get the hang of it and it is really nice being able to bake/broil & convection 3 different things all at once :) We did look at the original AGA cooker in LA before we realized that it wasn't in our budget plus the original one is made of cast iron, the thing literally weigh a ton....and it is always running (similar to a water heater). Not to mention the 20k price tag. lol The AGA is really becomes the center of your kitchen, it's solid, it's a beauty, an investment and a thing of art.

      @@Dyntithius "First off this is the Original Cooker..."
      No, it's not. The "original" AGA cookers are "always on" models. This is a "Dual Control" model, which can be turned to a low-power standby mode or turned completely off. When turned off, the ovens take about 8 hours to come to full temperature, and when in standby they take about 4 hours to come to full temperature.

    1:01 "In this case we're baking a turkey."
    One doesn't "bake" a turkey; one *roasts* a turkey.

    • @missladyanonymity
      @missladyanonymity 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      But she didn't put the turkey in the roasting oven. She out it in the slow cook. 😳🤔

      @seikibrian8641 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @missladyanonymity The various ovens are named for their suggested tasks, but that doesn't mean that is all they can do. Even if it's done in the "slow cook oven," cooking a turkey in dry air is roasting, not baking. One bakes breads, cakes, cookies, etc. One roasts turkeys, beef, etc.

    She misstated the temperature of the boiling plate. She got the simmering plate temperature correct (392°F/200°C), but the boiling plate is 626°F/330°C, not 692°F/367°C.
