Sylvia, you have such an amazing Husband! Love how he gets right in there to help you! My hubby did the same thing, but then all my kiddos were C-section babies! It's so sweet watching you guys, I love all the plans that you have made but I can tell you the moment you go into labour all your plans will fly out the window ha ha... it is a very scary time right up until that moment and then all your fears disappear you will just want it to be over.... I have never given birth. But one thing that a friend shared with me that her midwife did for her when she was in labor, she had a banner in front of the mother with the verse, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
She said that helped to calm her, knowing that God created her body to be able to birth this child!

Braxton Hicks contractions aren't a sign that labor is coming. It's false labor. True labor contractions come with regularity. If you're having contractions, empty your bladder first. A full bladder will displace and irritate the uterus, leading to contractions. After you empty your bladder-this sounds weird-drink 3 glasses of water (8 oz ea.). If you're dehydrated, it can trigger contractions. After you finish the water, lie on your left side for an hour. If the contractions disappear, they are false labor pains.
If you begin to leak fluid or break your water, EVEN WITHOUT CONTRACTIONS-you have to get to the hospital. They can induce contractions. With ruptured membranes, you run the risk of developing a fever if not delivered within a certain time frame.
True labor: contractions occur with regularity-every 3 minutes, lasting 45-60 seconds for an hour. Go to the hospital.
An epidural is wonderful to control the pain that you are feeling. It's given at 4-5 CMS dilated. Given too soon, it slows down labor. The epi relaxes you enough that many times there is a progression in dilation.
Please do not put anything on those pads. If you have a normal delivery, you'll be sore, raw and very tender. You don't want anything irritating you.
Until you deliver, the baby should always move. The amount may be less, but it should always move. Some providers may have you do a weekly kick count.
I wish you both a very positive experience. Prepare also for a C-section. Based on your medical history and the size of Capuchino, that may be a possibility. Sorry for the long email. Hugs to you both.

One tip whilst in delivery, repeat the word relax in your mind and breathe. Screaming or over expressing the discomfort negatively would be a waste of energy u would need to push. The process is natural and yes its uncomfortable and it hurts, we cannot change that, so just keep repeating the word relax in your mind and listen to the docs. When it feels tough you can also menatlly repeat " this too shall pass" and thank God in advance for a safe delivery.

Day time noise is helpful in helping baby distinguish night (quiet) from day (usual day activities). Baby's Normally sleep better through the night when they're able to distinguish night from day.
There are small plastic bags they call nappy bags, maybe the baby store would have them or actually any small bags can work to dispose of dirty diapers and your pads. Pack some small pastic bags . The nappy bags can come in a pack or roll . Look into it ok. They come in handy.

Bring snacks and drinks. Cotton wool to wipe baby’s eyes, umbilical cord and maybe even to clean baby with instead of wipes. 6 pampers per day at least. More receiving blankets and burping cloths. More baby clothes and some warmer ones. Also the nipple cream stains your clothes, so just be careful of that. Maybe mittens to stop baby scratching his face. Baby hats/beanie. Maybe a changing mat to change nappies on. That’s what I can think of for now. I’m getting too excited! 😊❤ I never got to pack a bag. My baby was premature and stayed in nicu for two months, so I’m having fun doing it with you.

For me the most painful part was the contractions. Like when the actual baby was coming out I didn’t reallly feel that as much as I felt the contractions. Those contractions whew chile, but everyone has different experiences Sylvia so don’t be afraid. Remember you were made for this.

Your real milk supply doesn’t even come in until around your 3rd day after birth so don’t feel like a failure when you don’t need those bags for milk. Your body makes colostrum immediately after birth and there is very tiny amounts of it so nothing to save for sure. Fortunately babies are born with everything they need to sustain them and the colostrum is enough until your natural milk supply kicks in.

Sylvia we are so proud of you, you'r ahead of the game in preparation. The pad syicales are a great idea, the only thing I'm going to warn you about witch hazel is It is best to avoid putting it on any area where the skin is broken or it will burn. In the USA the hospital has a lot of what you are taking with you, diapers, wipes, blankets, pumps etc...I guess it's different there. It is normal to be scared, it's' your first baby and women who have had babies before and give birth again are nervous as well. We re always afraid of what's going to happen but let me assure you, everything will be fine. Take in every moment, it will all be worth it when you see your baby Cappuccino for the first time. Koree, insert the baby into the onesie, he's so funny LOL. Koree, the best thing you can do when at the hospital is support Sylvia in every way. Sylvia just try and relax as much as possible, yes epidural, get ready for emotions, they will come flooding and it's all good. Love all the quality updates you have done to your home, it looks beautiful! You have very good decor taste and ideas! Blessings to this wonderful couple.

Hi Sylvia, how about the outfit you will go home in? And a robe if you will walk around the hospital after the birth. You should also take a phone charger so you can communicate. If you wash your hair daily, you might take a travel size shampoo and conditioner. Here in the US the hospital provides many things for the baby, but I don't know how it works there. Koree should have a bag with a change of clothes and a couple of snacks. I remember my husband getting hungry. ❤❤❤❤So exciting!!!

Hi Sylvia and Koree, I found you a couple weeks ago. I started following you. I wanted to tell Sylvia do not get baby powder, We don't use it much anymore in the US because it causes respiratory issues, I looked it up just to show you what it says. There is no safe baby powder please do not use I am not trying to tell you what to do, I am not that kind of person, but I am retired from nursing and I do know a few things. LOL Do what you want tho, it is your baby of course. Best of luck, you guys are such a cute couple and ignore the haters.it>>>>>>Is it safe to use baby powder on babies? Sylvia and Koree, your love for each other reminds me so much of my youngest son and daughterinlaw. They are also a multiracial couple who are expecting a son any day now. She had a ln ultrasound and "Sweep" last week. The baby was breach and has now turned and the head is down very low. Listening to you prepare for your upcoming birth is a so beautiful. I had to laugh when you talked about way down there because my daughterinlaw calls it her "couchie" and she has been using witchhazel. You may need to pack a few more onesies for the baby and a robe for yourself. The house dresses are a bit thin and may not allow enough coverage especially right after giving birth.

Great job and good planning. My first baby was induced and during strong contractions I was told to take deep breaths through the mouth and to focus on the breathing. This helped me cope and I did not scream, but my mouth got so dry and they did not allow even a sip of water. On narrating this to a friend later, she told me a lollypop helps with the dryness. So for second baby, lollypop was in my packing list and I was most amused yet willing to try, the hospital staff laughed to see me enter the labour room holding the lollypop, but believe me it was really helpful to suck on in between the deep breathing/contractions. Try it :) wish you a speedy and safe delivery. I am a July born too 😉

Baby Cuppucino gonna be entering the world with a whole head of gorgeous hair 🥰🤩 my nephew came out with a whole afro 😂 the cutest thing i ever seen 😊 then his 5 siblings followed near bald😂 but now they all have lucious curls & i love braiding the girls hair & doing twists for the boys. You never know how close you are, could come earlier so good bag is packed.
I recommend you take a box of tissues and a roll of paper towels for blowing nose or mopping forehead, chapstick for Sylvia so the deep breathing doesn't dry out your lips, isopropyl alcohol spray to spray the bed railings or the hands of visitors or the toilet seat if you want, and it might really help with labour pain management if Koree could practice counterpressure massage for your back during labour Sylvia. Maybe your bouncy ball for labour. Also a little zip up folder to put any documents and mementos you might get from the hospital like baby's hospital bracelet or birth registration documents, or wound care instructions. A little notepad to write down your feelings throughout your experience if you wish to remember how it went. Maybe think about the first words you'd like to say to your baby. A small Bible. Encouraging and uplifting music. Shower shoes for both of you. Small can of newborn non-dairy formula and distilled water just in case. Juice, gatorade, hot meal or two for both of you packed in insulated thermos if there's no cafeteria. A small bottle of sauce or spice seasoning in case hospital food is not great. Coins or cards for vending machine. The direct phone number and extension of the labour ward reception desk and Sylvia's room saved to your phones because sometimes hospitals lock some entrances at night. A thoughtful push present for Sylvia (if you folks are into that!). Stool softener, antacid and anti-gas medicine that are safe for breastmilk to keep at home. Numbing spray for tears or stitches. Nipple shield if baby Capuccino is a biter. New memory cards for your phones or camera to prevent accidental deletion of pictures and lots of space to film. Thank you card for hospital staff if you wish. Fully top up your phone data. Write a letter to your baby too so he knows how much you love him and all you hope for his life. Trust in yourselves and in God. You got this ❤
