THIS GAME. I was holding next to none hopes for it, the departure from classic rpg is quite large, however, by the end of it i was so amazed by the characters, the music, the gameplay, and the nods to the series i was left awestruck. This might not be the classic rpg we once knew, but i dont know why, this felt MORE FINAL FANTASY than i could expect, It's so weird! but i bet you all can relate
As a lifelong fan of the series I have found my love rekindled with both FFXIV and XVI. It might not be in the same genre systems-wise, but the heart and soul of FF is very much alive in these two entries. Folks coming together to overcome despair and find hope in each other, as well as amazing music, over the top bombastic moments, and a marriage of the new with the old.
Final Fantasy XVI and Tales of ARISE became the two reasons I got a PS5.
What it lacks in the gameplay aspects of final fantasy it has in spirit. And gameplay was never important for FF. If you want to convince me hitting a few hours on an enemy and looking at high numbers is quality gameplay than you are just ridiculous at that point.

Reminds me of the people who said Dark Souls II is not Dark Souls. I love Dark Souls II it is my favorite of the trilogy, it lived up to the hype and surpassed it for me.

dont worry FF16 is every bit FF as is always was, it doesnt mean because they are taking another direction its bad, I loved it even more then FF7 remake because they dare to do something different, not to say that I dont look forward to ff rebirth in 2024:P. Also the second time you play it in a harder diffictulty its even far better and one more thing side missions arent boring, the story is fantastic in them. so dark

I am very young for this series I only know final fantasy 15 16 and 7 re-make but these 3 is always heve a place in my heart, I love Cloud, Clive and Noctis so much and even more... all of them deserve the universe... this series never disappoint me and I waiting for ff 17 18 and every ff in the future to come sit in my heart, mad respect for all of the stuaff and voice actors (I only listen to Japanese and English but I respectful to every languages on this game)

Ive only played 4 of the ff games but 16 is my favorite by far
I am sad that this is probably the last Dark Fantasy M rated Final Fantasy.
But I'm also glad I experienced it.

Fr. He's one of the coolest, most badass and yet the most human protagonists I've ever seen, not to mention he's the dominant of the most powerful Ifrit has ever been, which just makes it 1000% cooler

This game much like XII, Tactics and even to a lesser extent XIV are games that dont fit the traditional JRPG mold but scream FF in aesthetics and feel. XVI is at same time one of the best character action games ever made and still encompasses FF to a infinitesimal degree. Its not a traditional jrpg cause the best jrpgs dont have to be traditional, they innovate or mold their themes and mechanics to fit the vision. If giving me a high fantasy DMC with GoT levels of drama was the vision, then sign me the fuck up.

I gotta say, I got major Haseo vibes from the whole Ifrit thing. Seeing as .Hack//GU is one of my favorite series ever, that was a massive draw for me. This song coming out with lyrics right alongside the game release made me feel that even stronger. I love how comfortable Clive becomes with his powers and position as Ifrit's Dominant.
