    I like the footage and appreciate your effort. It seems to me like the Sunnylife CPL filter gave no effect at all. Firstly I thought it's a mistake, but then knew it doesn't have an option of turning the filter ring to change the polarizing direction like we have on big camera lenses. Perhaps you've just saved me a few bucks, thank you. 🙌

    Farewell does work better on glare but looks like a reduction in colour and contrast when looking at the trees and the houses.
    How do you get around that?
    I see some filters add colour/contrast also

    • @NazwanJamal
      @NazwanJamal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hello Dale. Freewell has a top layer that we can rotate to get the maximum effect of polarizer. I believe in this video the top layer is on the minimum level. That's why the trees look darker. At that time I'm also didn't know that would reduce the contrast as well. Thank you for ur time watching the videos. Happy new year and cheers from Malaysia. 🙏🙂

    For those who cannot afford to buy Freewell, Sunnylife is a great option that is much more affordable.
    Just 1 Freewell filter costs more than the entire Sunnylife ND filter kit.
    In the video seems that you are using the pl of Sunnylife but Freewell seems to be the ND8.
    It's a large difference. 🤔

    • @NazwanJamal
      @NazwanJamal  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, u absolutely right about the pricing of both filters. Freewell offers more options with the second layer of the filter can be rotated for the polarizing effect. The build quality and material used are also good.
      However, Sunnylife got its own quality as I found ND32/PL can give stunning footage if used in the right way and at the right time.
      In these videos, both are CPL filters. I don't have ND8. All filters I have is ND/PL. 🙂

    You pay cheaper ...you get cheaper.

    I see that people are having strong vignetting with Freewell? Is that true?

    • @NazwanJamal
      @NazwanJamal  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Hey buddy. Yeah, i'm also aware of that vignetting effect from several Freewell users. However, i did not have that kind of problems. As u already saw on this videos, the footage looks good right? The only issues i found on using Freewell filters is when to attach or install it to the cameras. It's ridiculus hard plus it seems not really fit into the cameras and sometimes i get a noisy sound from the camera gimbal and it's also shaking/vibrating. Then i know it is because the filter is not fit well around the cameras. I had to do it multiple times just to put on the filters. One more things that i should share is the filters already damage the plastic coated which cover the cameras. Because it build by a steel, it's easy to bring a harm to the component made by plastic. Well, if u brave enough to take a risk, go for Freewell. No hearts feeling buddy. Just sayin'. I can't deny the quality of the filter itself is amazing and the footage are brilliant. Unfortunately, the other side of experience from using it is hard to believe. Sorry for the very long answers. Thank you so much for visiting and cheers from Malaysia! 🙂🙏👍

      One of the reasons it looks more brown because it's doing what it's meant to do - cut out reflection of the sky on the water. That's one of the reasons why the Sunnylife looks more blue on the water - you're seeing the reflection of the blue sky on the water. Try getting a pair of polarised sunglasses and you will know exactly what I'm talking about. The sand is brown, and so you're seeing through the clear water at the sand; hence why it looks more brown. I also think the Sunnylife adds a blue tint to the who picture regardless of the polariser.

      For most people post production should be totally fine but there are circumstances where a good polarizing filter will do things that can’t be done after filming. I also like to use the filter as a lense protector. For example, filming clear water close up in high sun. Without a filter you’ll get a ton of glare on top of the water and with a filter it’ll tone down the glare and make the water appear crystal clear which isn’t really possible to do in post.

      @@NazwanJamal good point,my expierence was the same,the filters do not fit properly. They sad it was my fault and i had no clue how ti use these filters. Funny because i’m a photographer for over 25 years and i use loads of filters on my fullframe canon camera’s. The customerservice was really rude and they said it was my own fault. Besides the horrible vignet in my footage my gimble expierenced problems aswell.A few times the gimble got stuck after putting on a freewell ndcpl filter,seems like i’m not the only one who expierenced problems with that. My luck i did not bought them directly from freewell but a store in my own country so i sended them back today and i will get a refund. Do you have expierence with skyreat drone filters ? Greetings from the netherlands and thank you for the respons, i really appreciate it ! 👍🏻😉

      @@MSFTV73 No prob. buddy! It's my pleasure since we've shared the same annoying experiences on Freewell's. Haha. No, i never use Skyreat's. If i'm not mistaken, Skyreat's filters also similar like Freewell's as both made from steel and much the same design also appereance. Got a sharp hook at the back of it. I assumed it would give same results just like Freewell's. Hmm, steel and plastic did not made for each others. The only filters i'm using right now is the cheapest Sunnylife ND/PL. It's totally plastic made. 100% safer. hahaa. Hey Mark, Thank you for subscribing to the channel. Appreciate it so much. Nice to knowing u buddy! Oh ya, i loved Holland. Ruud Van Nistelrooy is my legend! ✌😁

      @@NazwanJamal i did not give it a thought that that also could be the problem,steel hooks versus plastic…so i hope i won’t be dissapointed about the skyreat set. I bought my drone only 2 weeks ago so i’m still looking what works best. I will have a look at the sunnylife reviews, maybe that’s the smarter choice indeed. Ruud is a good football player, Max Verstappen is my Dutch legend, the most succesfull F1 driver in our history so far and with a little luck F1 worldchampion 2021 🙏🏻🍀😁

      Really? If that so, can u please tell me how exactly to use CPL filters and fully utilize it on DJI Mini 2? Is it another way to do it? Yeah, i really need some advice regarding ND filters. A really proper way to use it perhaps.. Thanks for drop by and commenting..

      You have to look inside the filter and turn the dial until the sky darkens as much as possible, then you have to mount it on the drone and fly in the direction you calibrated it.

      @@giorgiopod6055 Already done that on Freewell filter. But Sunnylife filter does not have the 'dial' thing. So, i think we just can adjust the footage by manual camera settings only. Anyway, thank you for the tips buddy. Really appreciate it and cheers from Malaysia. 🙂🙏

      @@NazwanJamal You are not utilizing the Freewell CPL to its full potential; it is not just a single plane or direction polarizing filter like your sunglasses. If you look through the filter at the sky and turn the outside ring with the dot you will see how the polarization changes as the sky darken or lightens. Same effect with reflections on the water; with rotation of the ring the reflections will decrease and disappear. You get the best results by setting the ring for the direction you intend to fly.

      @@earlhodges9982 Thanks for the advice earl. Yes, i knew about the top layer can be rotated. On this video, i just leave it to lowest level of polarization for a fair and square test with Sunnylife filter. BTW, really appreciate ur advice buddy and thank you for watching the videos. 🙂👍🙏
