I believe JPW use to do 100% of the CW melodies, while Joy did 50% of the writing and the vocals and that's why his solo work sounds more with the CW than joy's.. anyway I could listen to this all day, it's magical!!

I feel like JP stayed true to himself while Joy sold out. These small, raw sessions are what he lives for and I am always in awe of his performances.

What does that even mean? Just because Joy is doing more than small shows and venues doesn't mean she sold out. Prefer one over the other but don't diss one. They were a team at one point.

Michelle "What does that even mean?" Um, if you have adequate reading comprehension skills, it's pretty easy to figure out what I said. I didn't say anything obscure. So what if they used to be a team? They're not anymore. Get over it.

John stayed in the same vein of music he's always been in. Joy did not. Also you can tell who influenced the music the most between The Civil Wars. I'll always love them together, but now my heart belongs to JPW. His music transforms my soul.

Discovered this guy (and Civil Wars) because of CBC music Backstage. JPW is simply awesome. Terrific vox ..... and that Martin! Learning a couple of his songs right now. CBC doesn't seem to have much going for it lately, but their radio programming and Backstage is an exception.

Thank you. Great to hear you're enjoying CBC Music's Backstage Pass (and radio!).
