Wow - love this! I'm calling in sick today to try this! My fav comment: your cleaning supplies aren't used for cleaning and are all in your craft room. You're my kind of friend! I've learned so much from you. Thank you for all the ideas you share.
I have done this technique in the past and after inking we ironed the piece again between newsprint to remove the wax. That leaves an interesting finish as well. Thanks for bring this back to life for me. I for sure will be doing this again.
I was supposed to be sleeping but began watching your video. I couldn't stop watching and now wish I could go to my craft room instead. I can't imagine what I would come up with at 1:30 AM. Your card backgrounds are beautiful, as always, and you made it look so easy. My results are never the same. (: I really enjoyed watching your video. God bless!
💚 As I do not have a machine and don't want to invest in a new one, I've been looking for ways to use my old folders with a rolling pin. There are lots of how to videos on that. When I found your video I was thrilled. Wax paper. Who knew. I've seen a video using aluminum foil with embossing folders. Thinking outside the box is what crafters do best ! 🙋 Nana in se OK usa
I belong to an online stamping group and since we are all home bound, I put forth a challenge for them. Make a project from a video you watched. I am using this video of yours for my project. My card turned out so great! Thanks for the video!
I did this with different cards last week and loved the effect and even though I have not been stamping long, it was items I did have in my stash and kitchen! Thank you!
Wait..you looked at some waxed paper one day and thought "hhmmm bet I could iron this onto paper and make a pretty card". Ha ha ha I don't know where you get your wonderful ideas, but I love your videos and have really learned alot!!! Going to try this technique out ASAP !! Thanks so much for sharing!!!!
Thanks for this video. Love learning how I can use things around the house along with my crafting supplies to make beautiful cards out of the things I have! Wonderful ideas here!!
FYI: You don't need anything but a rolling pin to make the design on the wax paper. As for the daubers, make your own. Save caps from bottle and apply foam makeup squares. Works great. If you want them removable use Tack It Over and Over by Aleene's. It also works if you ink up the wax paper and then iron it.
I like your way of thinking and not giving in to spending a ton of money on something you may get tired of in 6 months. I have tons of card making supplies and I'm sick to death of it and spent money I didn't have on it.
Just wanted you to know that as soon as I watched this video I got all my supplies together and I've been making a TON of these! I'm also saving the used waxed paper to use with my Gelli plate for an upcoming mixed media project. Thank you!!
Gina - This is a lovely card! Thank you for sharing with us. I am looking forward to your Butterfly die when it arrives. Thank you for sharing this technique. I am going to have to give it a try.
Oooh…I’ve gotta get myself some embossing folders! So cool! I’m very limited on my supplies. I’ll have to check out used ads. Thanks for great tutorial! 😊❤️🇨🇦
I love this technique, and I can’t wait to try it. I just have to wait another day for my husband to buy me a box of wax paper as I can’t go outside because of the Coronavirus as I’m a high risk person because of my health, stay safe!
Hi Gina. I love the wax background technique, I have seen you do this before on other projects, Your card has turned out lovely, thanks for sharing, Cheers Anna.
This is such a beautiful design idea. I'm going to be making these cards for the rest of my day. Since we are all self quarantining, (which is just fine with me) I will be having so much fun. You are a good teacher and inspire me. thank you
Super cool, Gina! Love this technique, especially since it looks so easy & doesn't take a lot of expensive supplies. Now I have to go through my collection of embossing folders. Thank you for sharing this! :)
Instead of tearing and cutting wax paper I had my husband cut one role into 3 pieces (4") with his saw and another roll into 3 pieces (2-5" leaving 2"). I use the 2" for the little border pieces. My wax paper rolls come in handy in many ways in my craft room.
Really like this, I just found a card I made years ago on shiny card stock with waxed paper & couldn't remember how to do it. Thanks now I will try your way later today
Gorgeous!!! Not sure why I haven't bought Gina K Designs before, considering how mich I love your cards. I promise, that changes tomorrow! I really need some stamps that you can cut out with dies.
I will watch this many times to remember everything, but those last techniques were beautiful. Thank you for such a detailed video!
