Great project for the 1% the 99% of working class citizens are priced out of this market for purchase and rental! However i support this kind of development!
Great video on net zero communities! An idea to consider could be a biogas sewage system. It could turn waste into energy, further enhancing sustainability. Also, a grey water system would recycle water, reducing waste even more. One more idea you could incorporate is embedding piezoelectric materials in community pathways? People's footsteps could generate electricity, turning daily walks into a sustainable energy source!
It’s fairly new, although not lien BedZED I believe this surburban area have tried to look as “normal” as possible without being unsustainable like the rest of the development
I live here. Every house gets a tree planted in the backyard. Usually a 2-year-old apple or pear tree. There are multiple fruit trees around the estate as well as bushes for different berries. It's wild when you can start picking them. However, you're right in that there actually aren't that many trees. Partly that's due to many dying and not getting a new tree planted. It's something we're sorting out. Also, since the estate is relatively new, many trees haven't grown very big yet.
@@PatrickBulteel Were any of the trees that died the ones along the street? Apparently street trees are most healthy when they have large dirt patches around them and especially when they're connected to eachother
@@neonmajora8454 Yes, around the new construction areas (phase 3 and 4) the other phases are more "established" and the trees seem healthier and are growing well. Thanks for the pointer on large patches of dirts. I'll have to take a look and see how much "dirt" is around the trees.
One of the things that isn't really mentioned in the video is that the community itself is very friendly and we have activities and events where we're all invited to participate. Some are done by a company, and others are done by the community members. (Like our Friday café's) There's a local primary and some events take place there. I really love living here and I hope it stays that way.
I'm crazy about sustainability and vernacular practices in architecture But i got an off question, do you guys hire architects by any chance to do a sustainable project or is it documentation based information?
Just watching and admire - WHAT A SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTS did this project if even in video part of solar arrays covered by shade of other houses instantly )) 😢 still ECO label is just more laundry and greenwashing
Having googled the location. It’s ONLY accessible by car. To get to schools you have to drive. To get to shops you have to drive. The most eco friendly town is one where you don’t need a car!!
Thiiis is what iam all about..co°~creating positively. This brings true, genuine change globally. I am a NGO(charity/sovereignty/Indigenous) with limitless positive ideas|project's working to gain a grant & funding to start doing the same. Grand idea, beautiful soul's. Hug yourselves for me 😊🙂 🙏!
There are some that are social housing, some that are rented, but I think most of them are privately owned. And yes, they ALL have solar panels, rainwater harvesting (some people have issues with this) and are triple-glazed, etc.

It can BE done, indeed. We need it here in America. Love this so much!
Moved here in March. Brilliant place.
Hi neighbour!
Any up for sale? We really need to live somewhere like this! Only just started looking.
That’s such a beautiful town. I seriously want to move there! ❤
I think it's a really cool project.
Sorry I'm late but thanks again for vid keep it up!!!
Thank you!!

Awesome!
Looks really great, fantastic effort. Can't see many trees though 😕
Yes. More trees.

Amazing. The way any new development should be made from today. Madness how this isn’t regulated.
Yes! 100% 🙌
God I love the co-working space! Just such an awesome idea to create community!

We simply film the projects which designers, architects and environmentalists have created :)
This is seriously cool.
Yes!
Love this vid. Please do more like it.
Thank you! We will
I love it 🙋👑

Yes. This is not carbon free.
So what are the prices? From & to? Or is it a case of if you need to ask you can't afford?

That place is beautiful, are all the homes private owned or are some rented?
I believe some are rented

No heat pumps, no batteries, radiators not under floor, non electric bus? Lots missed out here...
In general the idea is great and inspiring, but solar PV system design (in term of efficiency) is quite poor.
Gimme one ☺️
Yes! 💚
Where do I land my Lear jet?
The RAF base next door is closed. You can take flying lessons there though. Maybe if you have a Lear Jet they'll let you park it there.
The BIG QUESTION IS Can people have THEIR PETS there? Is this ANIMALS/PETS FRIENDLY PLACE?
Yes.
And not a bike lane in sight!!
it can be need in India
Yes!
india is already ahead of the curve because of the paani foundation

Electric cars aren't green.
Suburban sprawl…
Vegan world
Joint looks like Leggoland, boring, Tin soldier nonsense. I'd hate to live in such a false bland world.
To many cars
