- Kruger Unlocked Ep 16 | Crocodile Bridge - Two young male lions on the H4-2 about 500m North of the S25.
When I first laid eyes on one of the males it definitely looked like the very popular young male lion known as Zaza from the Vurhami pride.
Afterwards, I compared some images on social media with the young male that I saw and the bare patches on his face definitely coincided with the images. It was a great surprise when I realised that it was him!

ZaZa was sighted recently which was awesome news but one of his brothers had a run in with nomads and was attacked and had his testicles damaged some
@@dionellwalker9762 ok we’ve been wondering if that was his brother. ZaZa is usually with two of his brothers. Has he been seen with both of them since he’s came out of hiding from fight with his dad and uncles??
wow, that is a beautiful king. He is gorgeous. he looks very relaxed. I think you’re right about it being Zaza because if you notice his hair sticking up on top of his head, it has a dark brown streak in it and the other picture of Zaza has the exact same marking. waiting on lions is part of the trip I enjoy it very much. they have excellent profiles very handsome kings. I love watching them. he’s thinking there’s a nice chap in his truck. lol. I wonder if he’ll stay with his brother or get up and leave. you would think they get up and crossover before it gets too hot. Wow. Awesome sight of the two kings. it looks like they had to sleep a little bit so they could get up and walk to the shade. Excellent. thanks for video❤❤❤❤

It’s great getting to know the lions and other animals of the area. I became so use to the Greater Kruger with all its inhabitants

Wow! I’m so glad you were able to find Zaza! He is getting huge and so is his brother! Not sure if it’s Zano or Zozo but either way these boys are going to be as big as their fathers. I’m glad Zaza escaped the attack from his father and uncles and doesn’t seem to be carrying any injuries from the altercation. Beautiful footage, can’t wait for the next one! Thank you for finding my favorite young lion, Zaza! 🦁
Me too Peter! At the time when I moved into the sighting I wasn’t sure. As time went by he looked more familiar with the images I’ve seen.
Rome wasn’t build in a day, and getting to know the animals this side will take time

I do believe you found our boy Zaza ! He is magnificent, and one of my favourite young males(my favourite is Olonkera from the Rongai pride). I’m glad to see Zaza is well , he had us really worried for a while!

When I eventually realised it might be him I was so happy. I know the lion followers were looking for him. He was reported by other a few times but just managed to remain out of my grasp, not this time🎉
If I may ask which channel does Olonkera feature on would love to have a look.
This morning I had no luck but the Vurhami pride were close to the gate after I’ve passed through, only heard of the update latr in the am unfortunately! Gonna be back on the saddle tomorrow morning wish me luck!

@@cs-wildcam Olonkera is the first cub of the Rongai pride that was fathered by the Black Rock males! His name means baby sitter because he is a lovely sweet lion and always takes care of his siblings/cousins. You might have heard about this pride after Olobor was killed by the farmers last January 💔💔💔 You can find a lot about him and his pride at “The mapogo lions” channel. Also if you search just his name you can find many videos about him! I ADORE HIM ❤️
@@antonisconstantinou7422 never heard of them but will definitely go have a look 👀 human and wildlife conflict is such an ongoing issue Antonis I hear you. Humans fight for their livelihood and animals fight for their survival. It’s a very sad topic when you delve in. I’m thinking of the great work that a lady ‘Inki Mandt’ does with the desert lions in Namibië. Incredible effort they put in to save the last populations through reaching out to the farmers, providing kraals and ways to keep predators away from their livestock. Despite this the lions are still poisoned and hunted by many. Almost feels like a losing battle they are fighting in the west but they still put the effort in. My heart goes out to those in the west and others dedicating their lives to this cause🥹🙏🏻

Zaza has eight younger brothers , all love him. This is probably zozo thats with him now . Both close in age , then zoza third oldest and a fourth one in this age but i cant remember his name . Zaza was a great help to the lionesses in taking down prey. After his father's attacked him the lionesses went searching for him. His younger brothers often are seen together with him and zozo. They will be a force in the future as his brothers comeof age.
Appreciate the info Gene thank you! Looking forward to watch their journey. Although they will probably end up somewhere else far from their natal territory in the nearby future. Will enjoy the time with them while it lasts.
Of all nine brothers and half brothers they would probably fragment into 2-3 per coalition. Maybe not.
They will without a doubt propagate their genetics far and wide when they become pride males for those who survives one day!

I've been watching your content for a few years now. I'm very impressed with how you can use your knowledge of the local wildlife and your creativity and expertise and presenting and photographing these beautiful creatures. It's like we were in a private reserve and no one else ever was around but us and you're telling us about these wonderful Lions. Keep it up my friend

The heartbeat of the Timbavati series I always saw as a stepping stone to something bigger one day. I’m trying to improve every time I compile the content even if I didn’t really get what I was looking for.
My new wildlife filming vehicle is arriving this weekend and believe that it will enhance everything that I try and achieve. Let’s see how it goes.

They are stunning. To be honest, I laughed every time you said it was getting too hot for them or they should be moving soon....they were thinking 'Dude, you're not our boss, we do what we want to do'...... I knew they were going to walk the other way....I was yelling at them, saying you waited so long, the least they could have done was walk towards you. Oh hello there, Handsome 💕 So this IS Zaza. What a magnificent & intimidating specimen he is! O M 🦁, an other gladiator just entered the stage. The duo looked simply glorious in the morning sun. Christof, do you feel fortunate to be in their presence, amidst nature & its magic? You are rich. For many, we have to imagine or dream of the actual sensory of being there.
Human-wildlife conflict is so contentious & deeply rooted in SES issues. It’s not just SA/Africa but a global quandary. Humans are the problem for other species. We are the reason that some species have been extinct & many are endangered. We, however, can change to ameliorate. There’s a will, there’s a way. Let’s speak on their behalf. Let’s tell their stories. Madiba, rally the Madibs tribe. Let hope abound ☀️

It’s a sad and concerning topic and I always hope that a good balance is eventually reached!
Every morning I enter the park and that fresh air hits my face while I’m scanning for cats or filming them, or interpreting their behaviour I can feel in my heart that I’ve found my calling. Even on the bad days there’s a silver lining to what I do! And I will do this until I physically can’t!

It's one of the two I would say Zano is the one they call Tank Jr if I had to guess this would be him, but it could be Zozo. It's definitely Zaza. Thank you he looks to be OK they are just going to have to be careful around the ladies. They are entering a testing time as for now. Being Nomadic is when a lot of lions lose their life. I wish them well on their journey.

@@buffiesilver trying to keep up with all the zzzz’s Buffie😂yes the Nomadic fase is a dangerous one alone. Hopefully out of the nine, he will at least have 3-4 brothers join him on this quest. The Birmingham breakaway males were six together but hardly stayed like that. Sharing food becomes an issue.

@@buffiesilver identifying lions as you see them at that very moment is much more difficult then leopards. Unless there is a unique feature like Zaza or split nose for instance. Otherwise, most of the time they all look the same.
I love the challenge and I’m up for it but it will take time with the change in lion dynamics. Even in the Timbavati there were so many new faces that rocked up and disappeared the very next day. Nothing worth while in this life of ours comes easy I guess.

I had a look now but I couldn’t see anything. Sometimes I catch myself self seeing things that I really want to see that’s actually rocks or logs or a running impala, and the first thought is a lion🤪

@@Fiona-lp5hx that’s great, well when you are ready please give me a shout! The impala are currently in the rutting season so the males are running up and down because of all the oestrogen around them. Maybe it was some impala passing back there🤔😉
