    I literally woke up with the word Cortisol. Thus, here I am. I believe cortisol is responsible for stress like skin features on ones skin. In literally, you can tell when is stressed, stressful or in a stressful situation or environment solely based on this theory. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

    Hi Dr Mike, you are such an awesome AP professor, which every lecture is easily to understand, remember and super logical. You connect between anatomy and physiology together, which makes a lot more sense for students like me.
    I am still got confused “about the motor pathway and sensory pathway, which included special senses, pyramidal and extra pyramidal (including basal nuclei and brain stem)”. Could you please consider to make the next video about discrimination these pathway?

    I’m autistic and have had a debilitating anxiety disorder since I was a teen and developed CPTSD after years of trauma. Psychiatrists confirm I have cptsd, for years I wake up every night from similar nightmares and can’t fall asleep.
    Like with some patients with cptsd my Cortisol has been lowest low but not low enough to require meds, as both hormonal and adrenal diseases have been excluded.
    So I confirm, decades of cognitive anxiety and lack of environmental safety can result in CPTSD annd low cortisol in some.
    I have evenings where I am extemely physically fatigued, with brain fog, and muscle weakness, guessing it’s a low cortisol symptom since any other illnesses have been excluded.
    The thing that helps me is maintaining a strong physique, daily cardio and radically avoiding any refined carbs or processed foods.

    There may be a slight error here that needs to be straightened out, if cortisol can't stimulate the adrenal medulla. because they already have different receptors

    I have a question!! What if your body's state of homeostasis is like... not working for you? For example... let's say someone experienced many major traumatic events early in life. As a result, they turned to maladaptive coping strategies to "cope" with these stressors. Although they have stepped away from these maladaptive coping strategies, over the years, they became extremely unhealthy and they now experience general malaise, fatigue, chronic pain, etc. They have tried nearly every known means to find healthier patterns to get their body on the right track again, but their body/hormones are working against their goals in order to maintain homeostasis. Here is my question: what are effective methods to disrupting cortisol production to better assist that person in changing their body's natural state into something more sustainable? What kind of research has been done on medications/supplements that can help decrease cortisol production in individuals with an unnecessarily high level of cortisol?

    Hi 👋- Any thoughts on the effects of untreated chronic pain on a Cardiac Patients 13yo artificial mechanical mitral valve? I mean- would it be out of line to connect/relate heart failure of someone who is in intractable pain- to the under treatment of that pain? Are there any papers on this..?

    I'm asthmatic and given steroid inhalers and tablets sometimes. Also all my family died and I immediately started to be ill, well, after 6 months approx. I was also in a awful relationship, that I felt I had to stay in because I was grieving. Now I'm in another highly stressful situation and feel to afraid to leave as yet again, I feel severe anxiety if I am alone as no family. My health has gone down and I now have very high blood pressure, diabetes and my sight is affected and I'm told will get much worse. My eyes bounce when I'm very stressed and leak during the night with fluid. Also I have fluid retention in my legs. I'm finding it hard to stop smoking cigarettes as so stressed, with this person and I'm smoking weed to try and cut off from the stress. Any help or advice please. Ps.. I piled on weight, 10 stone but I am trying to loose it and doing a plant based diet. If my Mum was alive or even my auntie, I would get out of this situation but as my health is so bad, I feel I'm stuck as need help physically but also I can't cope with being alone. Please help or pray for me.

    be careful what this guy says, i have found a lot of mistakes in his videos. in fact in this video the hormone cortisol does not stimulate the adrenal medulla to secrete adrenaline, and even this person is inconsistent about his statement, in the previous two videos he said that the adrenal medulla is stimulated by the hormone ACTH
