I think the reason why the crowd was so silent, is rege's voice and his beautiful accent . Everybody just love to hear him speak, so they did not want to cheer too much they want to hear him speak. I love him he is wonderful

Regé comes across as a man who loves and is passionate about his craft but doesn’t seem to like doing press junkets and TV interviews. It’s almost like he doesn’t care about the fame, he just loves the art.

This is a great observation. It is exactly the reason many talented actors leave the field because of all the press they need to do and the constant spotlight. It’s hard to handle the pressure.
He's actually very good in interviews but too serious mentally to just be known for his looks. He hates that. Infact Shonda wanted him for Bridgetton but they felt he's a very serious and intelligent person so might not carry off the hearthrob character.

@abbied … Him being a black man? No, Régé seems to have this class about him that fits bond, is a great actor, holds himself well, can carry a show or movie and looks great in an action scene. I would also absolutely believe he could get all the ladies! In terms of the world being too racist at the moment (I can’t see the previous comment), there will never be a perfect time as someone will always complain, but I’m sure a few people complained when we got a black super hero, and then Chadwick Boseman wrote a legacy. I don’t care about the next bonds shade of skin, just that they keep his character traits consistant so it’s recognisably Bond!

as a PR professional, I can sense that rege-jean page was very nervous in this interview with jimmy fallon. he spoke ever so fast (as if he is on a limited air time), hence the interview lost a bit of depth and substance (and maybe a bit of entertainment value too). several times, rege lost eye contact with jimmy, so both of them lost the chemistry that made the bridgerton online interview more interesting. I have seen rege nail press interviews and press conferences in the past, both online and live - and I'm very impressed professionally. for the very first time, I saw otherwise.
You and so many are saying this. His British GQ man of the year awards speech was even more apparent and talks super fast. He touches his face a lot. I get nervous for him too. He's amazing when he does interviews with castmates. He's admittedly an introvert. I hope he can let go and enjoy these moments. His has a lot of appearances for his movie next year surely. Hopefully he has a PR person like you to help him.
