Thanks for introducing him!
Thank you for spelling his name correctly: "Charlie". His signed it that way. Looking forward to the film!
OTIS! Please post more folk artist vids!
This is incredible.... Beyond incredible....
Thank you Otis! Heard of the Zippers in the 90s, but never heard of Jimbo.. the last couple videos have been enlightening and amazing!
Wow! Otis, this interview with Jimbo is fantastic! I'm a Mississippi boy, find the Delta fascinating, know of and listen to the North MS All stars and have heard the name Jimbo Mathis, but never knew he was from MS. He's kind of the glue that binds all this together with Charlie Patton, Charlie's daughter's association with Jimbo and his family. Jimbo is "just a Mississippi boy", but what a talent. I'm gonna have to get up in the Delta to see that marinet display
Awesome video Otis, I graduated high school with Jimbo in 1985 from Corinth High School, he is an amazing person, he was way ahead of his time, great guy, Thank you Otis
i haven't laughed this hard in weeks, thank you... you gotta realize I'm a white dude (who loves Charlie Patton) and live in a big trailer park that's mostly black, this went over hilarously !!
I love this so much.
Wow! The story & the depiction!
thank you so much, otis...what a wonderful life when one follows his/her heart. soulful.
Fascinating. The Rosetta connection. Wow
Jimbo Mathus is an artist of depth his Postcards to Rosetta is an example of how wide is his talent. ☮
This is SO FREAKING COOL Otis!
What a talent Jimbo is - thanks so very much for bring this amazing man to a wider audience. 👍🏻
Totally agree. How cool is Jimbo and his marionettes, film, and blues pedigree. Outstanding.
That's really cool!
Super, thanks Otis! Very talented guy, and not nearly enough out there about the mighty Charlie Patton, what an unbelievable artist and musicoan he was
What an amazing story & the art craftmanship is amazing! Look forward to seeing the final production.
Jimbo, unreal history and a artist in all his adventures and man of the people.
Never seen puppets based on a personal story and real people. Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks SO much for these Otis! This one put a building in my eye.
Somebody needs to do a feature film about Jimbo. Hats off.
Oh this is cool as hell. I met Jimbo one time in Sioux City maybe 10 years back and talked about marionettes and Bil Baird for awhile I didn't realize he was gettin serious about it. Awesome.
Great run of recent videos featuring Jon Dee Graham and Jimbo Mathus! Great characters and storytellers. Saw Jimbo and Roscoe play a blistering show at American Music Fest at Fitzgeralds in Berwyn, IL a number of years back. Always catch Jon Dee there when he travels north and was there the night he died (if only briefly). Glad he is back to reasonable health.
That is an amazing story, Charlie Patton always seemed like a mythical and mysterious figure to me. What a cool project to come up with, Cheers!
Another gem, Thanks Otis.
And thank you Jimbo
Otis, the people you bring to light who I have never seen or heard of are newfound treasures. I am down some serious rabbit holes, having tons of fun exploring all these things I’ve missed.
Hey, I consider myself a long-time appreciator of below-the-radar people and music! But you keep bringing out these fantastic genius people proving my ignorance. I’m so thankful you are shining the light! I know I’m not alone. You are enriching lives! Thank you.
Fantastic person and ART stuff thank you for sharing this

I feel like my life is complete now. John Fahey was just mentioned in an Otis Gibbs video.
this might be the coolest story on the channel so far
Great story and super cool marionettes👌 🎶🎸
Ok, I didn't mean to hit the damn send button-- edit-- marionette, ok:). All of Jimbo's connections remind me of the Seven Degrees of Keven Bacon! If any of you readers travel to the Delta, book a room at The Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale.
Jimbo- unexpected depths
More Jimbo!
Fantastic! The marionettes seem to have spirits, kinda spooky. I can't wait to see the film....
Pure Dead Brilliant!
