    Very well said I’m totally with you after attending and staying for 12yr I decided not just because of the single camping price hike to £120

      Utterly disgraceful Pal. S'all I can say. The organisers of the Airshow should be ashamed of themselves - no excuse, just grabbing!

    Helifest is dictated to by the main event for the burger van so it’s not Helifest ripping people off but something they can maybe work with the main event on. Same with toilets this has been an issue for many years in a row now we need a lot more in the helifest area supplied by the main event. Regarding tea and coffee the better option is to buy a Helifest mug at the start of the weekend and you then get free re fills all weekend from the Helifest tent.

      Couldn’t agree more on the Heli Fest mug - absolutely for sure which is why i have that stated in the video. Fully aware of the Cost +++ model in place and understand the contractual obligations that Grant and Jase will have to conform to but, just because it’s written down, doesn’t make it right. I refer then, to my original video starement ‘You’re not the poor cousin’.
      Key thing here is the monopoly that the event organisers of WPIMAS and most likely the Weston Park Estate have over Heli Fest, need not be the sole dictating factor. Heli Fest has contractual leverage - use it or, go elsewhere. Personally? Me? I’d go to BMFA ground - it certainly wouldnt cost what weston does or be such a drain on sponsors and undoubtedly, Grant and Jase.
      Bottom line?
      Cost ++++ models never work in the interest of the end party, the client, in this case………. us wanting a burger.
      Finally and with respect, i’ll point out that i’ve made it very clear that prices snd portaloos are not a Heli Fest issue to resolve. That, lies with the Estate and the WPMAS to resolve and improve but, they will always be biased toward cost saving and more for less.
      Thanks for your comment and factual contribution - I hope this reply is agreeable. Both same side of the desk for sure. x

    There is definitely profiteering going on with regard to food and its getting worse. I hate it when people take advantage like this. Like you say telling the kids we can't afford the ice cream, how bad is that, what's wrong with making a more modest profit rather than ripping everyone off. In years gone by I wouldn't think twice about using the food vans, always seemed affordable, not anymore.

    • @HeliShed
      @HeliShed  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Couldn't agree more - all they're doing is pricing themselves out of clientele. Now I will admit I bought a burger, an ice cream and a cuppa tea but guess what? I sure as hell didn't have to queue for them either! No bloody wonder.

      I did notice a small stand selling home made sausage rolls.
      £4:50 for a giant posh sausage roll, very good value

      @@garethfairclough8978 - hmmmmm......... well, horses for courses on this one and again I'll agree to disagree. Just think on it - £4.50 for a home made sausage roll? Hells fire, if I delved into that black hole it'd probably come out far more eye watering than Tea, burgers and Ice cream. For charity? Go for it, I'd buy one for sure. For a pocket?..................... Nope, nope nopety nope. ;-)

    I could write pages on this, but there is not room, But I feel a couple of things need to be said, The rain, humm it was biblical, as you know, It undoubtedly stopped the trucks emptying the loos, not an excuse a fact, still maybe some tractors to help those trucks would have helped , whatever the reason it was NOT acceptable. . I was inside (luck me the ) the production booth for the fire work show, and chunks were pulled from the show to bring it forward as much as possible, however fire works need darkness. Kudos to the production team for making it happen at all, they worked their arses off. Scale heli's , yep 3 years ago the AHA scale rep showed his helis on the Helifest FL, the next year he was on the Main FL, this year a no show ?! no idea why, Helifest welcomes Scale and gives up valuable demo time ( which sponsors pay for) to accommodate this, some times to further something you have to take the times you are offered with grace and demo your scale. Food costs , unacceptable, the organisers should put a cap on prices, but that may cause the vendors to choose not to come. Helifest for example used to be 10 deep at the spectators line, now very sadly it was no more than a few dozen true spectators, so the volume is low. The main FL, no excuse there. Should the show of been cancelled (Saturday Night) humm not my call, but I was stuck in the mud for hours with no help, I just dealt with it, stuff happens. Training, I was asked to staff the Training school, but sadly due to other commitments , I was unable to do so. so that one is partly on me! I want to add that I was Chair of THE AHA , and have been at the very top of the RC Heli Game for many years , seen it done it, loved and hated it! I honestly think the Weather screwed us over big time, lessons were learned,... (Hopefully) Jase, Grant and the team at Helifest Did an amazing Job in atrocious conditions. For Me WP have tractors , the show couldn't account for that possibility that they would be required. WP SHOULD have stepped in and got the emptying loo trucks to the loos. Just my two cents, and I do enjoy your Content . Keep it UP Regards Rachael Plant xxxx

      What an excellent, well informed and intelligent response - thank you for the effort! Absolutely, everyone did a great job in my view but what was wrong with the whole WP show wreaks in my view of 'pricing out'. I believe Bishop and his crew are simply taking the absolute piss out of HeliFest (costs) and vendors and honestly no need whatsoever - I'm in Estate Management Business, I 'know' this to be the case. Personally and if I were so inclined, I'd move the bloody lot away from WP - it simply doesn't deserve the Helifest attendance or the hundreds of Heli Focused visitors, let alone the WP plane focused teams and visitors. The overall costs for the event were just shocking and if I coulda found Bishop or any of his team on the weekend you absolutely know I woulda challenged face to face. To be clear, this was not a Heli Fest issue - this was a WP organisers issue. Now, if it were to be found that the prices imposed were by the Estate then I'd be looking to change the complete organisation team who very clearly have no contract acumen or sense of what they're doing when it comes to cost. WPIMAS is not captive to WP. WP needs 'it', of which Heli Fest is part of, far more than they need WP.
      Finally for me? Move the lot to BMFA. Every single stand. If I had the time and space during the day to be frank, I'd do it myself with my eyes closed but I literally do not have the time and so can't. But............................. I do smell a Heli Shed event around the corner!!!

    Great to hear your feedback on Western Park and Helifest this year. I am part of Blades of Thunder and we have a TH-cam channel dedicated to building and flying Scale helicopters. Keep up the great reporting and you tube channel.

      Thank you Paul - I'm a sub of BoT, brilliant TH-cam channel pal and love what you guys are doing - partly exactly the reason for my feedback on HeliFest last year about diversifying different aspects of the hobby - the scale builds and flying would go down bloody fantastic at HeliFest and, that's not taking anything away at all from the amazing stick bangers! Glen is a very talented builder and has some awesome machines - notably the Lynx and the Apache although I note he done a Stint in the Senior Service - I won't hold that against him as a Pongo veteran - fucking Matlos. ;-) I'm also a member of the AHA although not renewed this year due to commitments but fully intent to pick it back up for 25. Thanks again, keep up the great work with BoT. O7

    We went on Sunday, bit boggy in the morning but it did dry up a bit. Food is always expensive at any event, personally I didn't think £8 for a 1/2 pounder was too bad. Ice cream was a piss take though, we had a magnum and a 99, both were £4 each, wtf. I can kind of understand £4 for a magnum, but not for a Mr Whippy! Didn't see ANY toilets at Helifest, only 4 up by the drones, that's pretty disgraceful (unless I missed them).

    • @HeliShed
      @HeliShed  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We'll agree to disagree on the Burger my friend - it was a quarter pounder and you can buy 5 for £2.49. When I delved into the burger fiasco, it came up as 88p per burger and that included all costs. Now granted, I don't think you could ever buy a burger for 88p but £2 is more than enough and they'd fly off the shelves. Even £4 for a super fat boy is semi acceptable but £8? Nope, nope, nopety nope. ;-)

      You pay more than £4 for a burger at Burger King. Never gonna happen at an event.

    • @HeliShed
      @HeliShed  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andythilo. A burger king and a manky old 1/4 pounder in a soggy field for 8 quid have no correlation, in my view.
