You act like you're some intellectual behind a keyboard throwing out magnificent bits of truth to the world of youtube but really you've just watched some television and looked up some youtube videos. Also SAF probably enjoys being talked to like a real person, notice how he smiles and jokes and actually looks like he is just in a room talking to a dude who is interested in him? imo thats what these types of interviews should be like. muppet.

Sir Alex did to Manchester United what Bill Shankly did to Liverpool. They both completely changed the way people looked at those clubs, and both made them successful from being a lover tier club or close to being that. They also had fans believing everything they said, even if it was wrong they still followed and believed.

Not sure why I'm reading comments about "ignorant Americans" and "poor interviewer." I actually found this to be one of Sir Alex's most insightful interviews and thought that the interviewer(s) displayed a sound knowledge of both football and Ferguson's career. You can usually gauge the quality of an interview by the reactions and answers of the interviewee, and in this instance Sir Alex seemed to be enjoying himself. Classic TH-cam comments section containing a plethora of negativity and irrelevance

+mike mcmanus Yes, actually watching a non-British or European interview of Ferguson was refreshing. He was definitely having a great time, and participated enthusiastically. They did make a lot of references to American teams that he shouldn't be expected to know anything about, but otherwise a great interview.

You can tell by how Sir Alex delved into very detailed answers and was very relaxed throughout. For the life of me I don't see why people are complaining about the interviewers here at all. they did great.

It's amazing what Bill did at Liverpool, that is for sure, (He got them from the 2nd division to the top of the English game and European finals) but there is no comparison between him and Ferguson. I mean, Brian Clough actually won the European Cup, Twice and he only went 3 years longer at Nottingham Forest (1975-93) than what Bill did at Liverpool.

Red Man most Liverpool fans agree mate, Sir Alex is by far the best. Shankly built us up from nothing, then Paisley won the silverware and they created our history. But Fergie did the same... so whilst we love Shanks and Paisley, we have to respect what Fergie did. He took a nothing Man Utd team and dominated English football for years. That's a far better manager in my opinion, than one who takes over a top team and continues to win. Also, as much as he hated Liverpool, whenever we beat them, he'd always congratulate us and highlight the areas on the pitch where we did well. Nowadays, Man Utd managers look for refereeing decisions or their players mistakes or too many games. Sir Alex was on another level.

If people say "United" then you get defensive nutters saying "Which United is this? - Leeds United, West Ham United, Sheffield United???" Happened all the time when Utd were consistently at the top. It was always interpreted as arrogance. You said "Manchester" and people said "There are _two_ Mancunian teams you know!!!" To keep saying 'Manchester United' in an interview related to the club is too many syllables and sounds too formal. 'Man U' is just a shortcut.
The people here being dismissive about Americans talking about football are annoying me. It's crass. And I'm a Mancunian, unlike many of those mouthing off. The interviewer is being very respectful (despite being a Liverpool fan...)

    • @edmundpower1250

What are you on about? Some Liverpool fan you are. Bob Paisleys successor won the treble in first season and then when Kenny took over won 3 Leagues and 2 FA cups in 5 seasons ... Remember both of these managers won trophies with dignity and respect not trying to con referees and use mind games in a disrespectful attack on rival managers... No wonder Giggs Shagged his brothers wife and Rooney went off with prostitutes and Keane tried to end a players career Cantona kicking spectators in the crowd in front of children amongst others... LFC won trophies with dignity and Klopp carries that on... Ferguson and United were well suited. You will never read about Liverpool players shagging their brothers wife or the rest but it would have happened if Ferguson was boss

And in this interview he showed good restraint not to go mad at the interviewer for keep mentioning liverpool. But one thing Alex did wrong was reccomend david Moyes
