I love watching these orchid conventions. Where I live (San Francisco), the orchid shows are a lot smaller. Love seeing the variety of orchids at these big shows. Makes me want to attend one of the big orchid shows down in Southern California.

I was there with my wife and daughter on Friday. We got the early admission and went straight to Krull Smith (as usual for me). It was an amazing experience again, probably the best one yet! I am the primary orchid enthusiast in our family but we all had fun. My daughter saved some money and bought two Phals from SO Orchids. It was her first time (6 years old) and she was excited. I brought home a bunch of beautiful orchids to add to my collection. Possibly my favorite is the Cattleya tigrina 'Sanbar Giant' I got from Krull Smith. The fragrance is delightful and it is quite big! I saw Mercedes shopping and noticed a couple of your friends, but missed you somehow. Spotted my family walking by you around 47:50 in the video. I was wearing yellow and my daughter was wearing blue). I'm surprised we didn't notice you; totally would have said hi! So many amazing orchids and great vendors from all over the world all in one place. It's a high point of the year for sure. We had such a fun time and I'm already excited for next year!

I now have a grow tent, a humidifier with oscillating fans, LEDs, and a computerized controller that gives me the temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, and I’m filling it up with all types of orchids!!! And it’s all because of you

Not to be taken for granted,over the years we would have heard of these big american orchid shows. Now with avid youtubers making videos of the daily events and showcasing the vendors and thier orchids in their splendour. Thanks again Nature Nel.
I agree. I remember when the only way to know about an orchid show was the small ad in our local newspaper. Sometimes on a local billboard. But with today’s technology we can bring the shows to your home.

I agree. They need to do it earlier in the Spring. This was just heat at an unsafe level. It reached 100 degrees at one point. I feel the Motes may consider changing it. Its not safe for Bart Motes parents either to be out there in that heat. The environment is changing so we need to adjust.

Yes it was! I went Sunday and I just could bare it. I was upset because I wanted to stay longer but I felt nauseous. Even Teresita almost passed out walking to the car.

Hi Nelson, i went to a Orchid show yesterday ( saturday)here in Rome called Ortidea and there were only 5 booths for orchids and i was very sad because they dont have a lot of variaties, not a lot of cattleyas and few dendrobiums, a lot of phalaenopsis summer and normal one, some vandas , lot of miltoniopsis which i never bought because 4 of them left me already. I am very glad that i bought the only one and only Oncidium cherry baby 😢😢😢 bought a dominiana from ecuagenera that had split leaves 😢 and new growth with sun burn and my favorite was my catasetum taiwan black pearl and 5 more. I was very sad because i didnt buy all the things in my list and especially no orchids supplies since im out of them 😢😢😢 i am very jealous that you have all of it in your place. I ask one booth if they have Phal Gigantea but they teases me that they will be having it in other place next week and its 6hrs drive 😢😢😢 IM VERY SAD. Like happy but sad hahaha idk im enjoying watching your vids ALWAYS!❤
So sorry your show didn’t meet up to expectations. It does happen here in Miami as well. Not all shows are international shows. I feel the orchid world is spreading little by little to smaller areas and places where they never had any orchid events. Perhaps making plans to come to one of our International shows is at hand. 🤗

Hi Nelson, you guys are really lucky with your selection and prices. Cattleya species come along here once in a blue moon and when they do they are often close to death. Just no comparrison. Night and day so you are so furtunate to have that difference. Your superpower is that you are friendly and truthful. A rare trait in an orchid grower which is why Roxie always says always be nice. I know you will disagree but you just bring the best out of people. I'm the grumpy git that detests orchid growers deceiving other growers how to grow orchids all the time. Not that this is the best comment again, can't help it I guess. I just wish orchid growers wouldn't get lied to all the time. It's the reason so few people grow orchids in my opinion. Like here I'destimate that less than 1% of people grow orchids. It's not that 99% of people do not want to have orchids in their house. It's just that it takes so much patience figuring out what is the truth and what is complete rubbish when it comes to looking after orchids.

Hey Tom! I feel the orchid community is getting a better grasp on growing orchids in their environment. I wish there was a good-for-all recipe to growing orchids. Truth of the matter is we live in different geographical locations making orchid care and growing very diverse. I grow mine outdoor because I’m blessed with great weather for orchids. But I still have to learn what best fits my orchids in this environment. I feel little by little we will get a good handle on growing them properly in our own environment weather indoors or outdoors. As much as I know, I still learn something new about orchid care daily. The key is to try new things out to see how they grow in your setting. Adjusting is part of the learning curve. I do feel a great sense of satisfaction when my viewers tell me that I helped them save their orchids and get the to bloom. That’s what it’s all about. 💚

you guys are really lucky with your selection and prices. Cattleya species come along here once in a blue moon and when they do they are often close to death. Just no comparrison. Night and day so you are so furtunate to have that difference. Your superpower is that you are friendly and truthful. A rare trait in an orchid grower which is why Roxie always says always be nice. I know you will disagree but you just bring the best out of people. I'm the grumpy git that detests orchid growers deceiving other growers how to grow orchids all the time. Not that this is the best comment again, can't help it I guess. I just wish orchid growers wouldn't get lied to all the time. It's the reason so few people grow orchids in my opinion. Like here I'destimate that less than 1% of people grow orchids. It's not that 99% of people do not want to have orchids in their house. It's just that it takes so much patience figuring out what is the truth and what is complete rubbish when it comes to looking after orchids.

Hey Tom! I feel the orchid community is getting a better grasp on growing orchids in their environment. I wish there was a good-for-all recipe to growing orchids. Truth of the matter is we live in different geographical locations making orchid care and growing very diverse. I grow mine outdoor because I’m blessed with great weather for orchids. But I still have to learn what best fits my orchids in this environment. I feel little by little we will get a good handle on growing them properly in our own environment weather indoors or outdoors. As much as I know, I still learn something new about orchid care daily. The key is to try new things out to see how they grow in your setting. Adjusting is part of the learning curve. I do feel a great sense of satisfaction when my viewers tell me that I helped them save their orchids and get the to bloom. That’s what it’s all about. 💚
