Moon what you show us, is an extremely important comparison for fans and splendid in terms of comparison. I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for so many years now. I hope one day you reach 100,000 subscribers because honestly you deserve it and I think your channel is more valuable than some who deliberately copy you. A big thank-you❤❤❤!!!!!!!!
The ambulance chase scene when the vehicle is driving between the trees on the highway, I couldn’t believe how real it looked as if I was looking out my window of my sub
Yikes, huge upgrade. I always check for skin tones and the sequence at 3:30 is all we need. I have bought the disc but not seen it as we watched the film about 2 weeks before the 4K was announced ;) Thanks MM
crazy, when DVD first came out...in 1996/1997... I was a college student and had been following the development of the format for a few years. even though I was no where near rich, I bought a $700 pioneer player and like 5-6 discs online from the test/launch cities in the US. The Fugitive was among my first bunch. Think also, Wizard of OZ, Batman, The Mask, maybe Blade Runner. The quality of those first releases sucked compared to same resolution DVD re-releases... the encoders where just not as good. But blew away VHS. But I showed every friend in college I could A/B tests of Batman for example. I used the 4x3 side of the disc (16x9 was other side) and played in sync with my VHS copy. I sold (the concept of) at least 1 DVD player to my more rich friend in college, lol. I think he got the Sony around then.
Ok according to these screen comparisons the 2013 blu ray is the superior version, to every 4k reviewer who has over-exagerated how good the 4k is, you are clearly supporting a gimmick. The colours are far too muted on the 4k, not to mention the bright lights are over-exposed. Pay particular attention to the yellow prison outfits, they are more vibrant on the standard blu ray, plus Tommy Lee Jones red jumper at 7.50 is completely washed out on the 4k version. I am sticking to the 2013 blu ray thank you for the comparison video.
The Fugitive is one of the best - if not the best TV to movie adaptations ever made. This is clearly one of Harrison Fords best. Tommy Lee Jones was a way better Deputy Gerard than the TV version. Hes like a Frenchman from New Orleans. The movie perfectly captures Kimbles need to help people he comes across. But its tight and clean. The movie has virtually no fat. The TV show just seems to drag out the premise. Then after 50 episodes, after watching Kimble help people and getting away again and again, the show became completely contrived. The Fugitive is also more proof that the 1990s is one of the greatest decades in film history.
6:15 what the hell happened with the 4K? Overall, it looks quite a bit better, but I've been noticing that a lot of the 4K releases are contrast boosted, resulting in loss of shadow detail and blooming around lights.
Been waiting and waiting for this 4K release and it's finally in my hands. Lovely transfer. Great video, as always.
Have watched this through twice in 4k. Fantastic movie with a great transfer. A must for any collection.
Once the credits finish this is a stellar transfer.

That is an impressive upgrade. Personally I am a big fan of the movie, but I appreciate the upgrade.
Amazing movie that’s for sure 👍🏻!!!
Absolutely fantastic transfer without a doubt
Wow. Looks so much better than blu ray.
this looks incredible, love the color palate

I can’t wait to count every single wrinkle Tommy Lee had at the time. This looks phenomenal!
That will take a very long time to count. JK.

This is what I remember. The blood on his wife wasnt glow in the dark. It was really dark in low light... like real blood
