This video is getting a lot of attention lately so I'd like to put out two things: One, I don't include my kids in my videos a lot (they're here and there, but not all the time) because I do not make them do any sort of filming with me, ever. These videos are just for fun, and aren't things I do regularly. So, those of you suggesting I include my kids in the routine more - they're not involved because this isn't my everyday life and even if it was, I wouldn't really film them unless they actively showed interest in being involved. Two, I do not support or endorse the toxic shaming of women for "not wanting to please their husbands/being terrible wives/having messy homes" that, thankfully, has only been smattered in a few comments here and there. I would like to very clearly state this: my husband and I work TOGETHER to create a home and in our actual daily lives he is as much a part of the routine as I am. I love the 1950s for aesthetic, and for the fun of trying these routines, but I very much do not want to live with the sexism, ignorance around mental health, racism, homophobia, lack of rights, and plentiful other things wrong with that era. It had its good things too, and I enjoy testing those good things, but there were a lot of things wrong with the era that I don't want to bring into my modern day life and for good reason. So in short, while these are fun to make it's not my actual life day to day, and while these routines ARE helpful and I DO implement some of them into my life as a working SAHM, my house is not run like this all the time. And, my kids don't show up helping because it's a boundary I've set for myself to respect their privacy. If they wander into a shot and enjoy it, yay! If not, I'm not going to make them be a part of my channel.
I am so sorry you had to post this comment. I loved your video and watched it as it was, a little fun and taking the good from an era with a lot of problems (ehm 2021 anyone, what era doesn't have major issues ?) 💖💖💖
I loved your video. Can you imagine being a 50s housewife who suffered from depression???? Your skin is gorgeous and I have y to ask what blush you use? Also....loved your mad hatter print. I'm new to your channel and going through quite a rough patch in life. This brought me joy. Thank you
Nope you didn't fail, I remember just how frazzled everyones mom was in the late 50s and early 60s [ I was born in 1952 ] there was no make up on moms unless they were going somewhere, I remember older moms in house dresses and head scarves and younger moms in shorts or slacks and loose shirts and all in aprons lol. Kids were told to go outside and play in all kinds of weather. And it seemed every mom did the same thing on the same day, Mondays in summer were full of wash on the line. Babies were kept in playpens and dinners were either boiled or roasted so they could cook mostly unwatched and dessert if there was one was most likely jello or canned fruit cocktail. So at least to my elderly memory you nailed it.
This makes me happy to know! It's hard not to play comparison with myself when I see other youtubers who are child-free and can make the cute aesthetic videos. Thank you for sharing!
I'm a 50's kid too. I forgot about us going outside so Mom could get control of things in peace, plus playing outside and going for bike rides all over town kept the toys left around the house down. She didn't have to worry about watching us outside like mom's have to do today. Sad.
@@joanleimkuehler7068 My parents are 50s kids too and remember the same thing. Society was so different then and one did not have to worry about things happening to their kids the way we worry now.
My grandmother was a 1950s housewife who had 9 children. You nailed it. She worked hard. She also gardened and bottled fruit in the fall. She sewed clothes for her children and served at church. Her glamor wasn't in how she dressed, though she was quite beautiful. It was the warmth of her home. Her success wasn't in a perfect routine or textbook house. Her triump was in raising 9 happy, healthy children and creating a comfortable, inviting home where she showed her love through her dedication. I admire her. I miss her. Keep it real. You're authenticity is charming. You captured the truth of being a wife and mother in any generation.
I don't think you failed at all. Those books and magazine articles always make it sound so easy, but I think your experiences are a lot closer to the reality for most women of that time--especially when you add kids into the mix. I really liked how you showed the difficulty of pulling this off. I hope you and your family had a great Christmas!
Thank you for your work on this. None of your days were a "fail". My Mom was married in 1955 after 5.5 years she had 4 small children to look after. I asked her about some of the other "day/life in 1950's videos". She laughed. No her house was not always clean, no she did not greet her husband after work in a cutesy dress! Although she did dress up and they went dancing on Saturday nights (we got the babysitter). No, the laundry was NEVER caught up... etc. This was a very realistic video .. and great camera work.
No day is a failure if it ends with everyone alive and well. You have 4 beautiful children who are happy and healthy. 50’s housewives started training for the lifestyle pretty much at birth You did an amazing job ❤️
Oh my I have so many thoughts about this (all good). First, I love this! Second, your husbands face when you gave him the drink was priceless!! Third, I think you shared a side of life that folks don’t usually show and that is important.
I'm so glad you made this. All the other videos were of women without children and that really has a way of making a woman feel inadequate when they're comparing their home, time, and routine to someone without children. This seemed so much more relatable and realistic. It might not have been perfect, but it wasn't a failure by any means. It's actually given me hope that a daily routine will help me through my depression and struggles with mental illness.
Okayy, my experience. There's already not a lot of 1950s videos as it is. But the ones that are, are women with no children or older children that are sent to school. It's just another category of struggle when handling the total needs of other humans your entire day. Ultimately, my conclusion to housewife + motherhood is you're either going to be so tired, you may end up getting sick (lack of self-care, low energy etc) or your schedule and home is just not going to be or look aesthetically pleasing. Things are going to have to give.
My husband suffers with severe depression and it was actually his physiotherapist who told him to make a daily routine and it has definitely helped him! It helps me too when I'm having really hard day's
For a supposed failed attempt, this was a pretty authentic and successful experiment. The average home back then was 2.5 kids, and you, brave lady, have FOUR sweet kids. I appreciate how honest a look this is into reality and not just a retro dreamscape. Don't be so hard on yourself, you did GREAT. Have a beautiful day.
They never had a thing for the look. It was their lives. They were busy and exhausted. But the family and home was well loved and cared for plus they took care of themselves too ❤️ You did accomplish it.
OMG! I loved this so much! You have four beautiful children and I am 100% certain the 1950s housewife was equally harried (or else why would they have written the books?). The humor in your raw honesty is so refreshing. I look at my holiday kitchen table decor and just laugh cuz it looks so thrown together and my husband and daughter are readers so there's as many books as there are festive gee gaws. Please do more. Inspired this beautiful holiday evening, eating our coconut cake, my daughter reading, I will be sure to tidy up before heading off to bed. I hope your Christmas was magical.
I completely agree. I've not seen any other YTer with children do the 50s housewife daily schedule routine. You give the most realistic example to the way life would actually have been. By this time the baby boom was in full swing. Everyone had baby fever. My Mama raised 10 children and took care of a beef and race horse farm, while my father was working off shore. But she still managed to keep a routine and everything spotless.
You absolutely did not fail! You learned and developed new habits and re established your priorities and look...your family is thriving! You are a brave and lovely lady! Keep up the good work! Thank you.
I have many things to say so bare with me. 😅 This is the best "living like a 1950s housewife" video on youtube!! Its so refreshing seeing someone actually being real in front of the camera while also being entertaining. On top of that being a mom of 4 while also working!! Bravo beautiful mama. 👏 I'm a mom of two, 2 and under so this is the content I appreciate. I get some people probably live more aesthetic lifestyles but in reality everyone has things that aren't very pretty that they hide from the world lol, so I tip my hat to you for being honest! I also wanted to say you're children are so cute and I love your eyes! Subscribed in a heartbeat ❤
I think like someone else said, in the 1950s there was much less interaction with children and a lot more attention paid to keeping the house clean. It's certainly a busy way to live regardless!
FINALLY a 50s housewife video with kids. Love it! Thank you so much for being realistic and not editing your life to look picture perfect! That''s definitely not an insult by the way, I genuinely mean that. THANK YOU!!
This was so interesting to watch. I am european so some things would vary like the meals (and I’m living in Finland, dinner is around 5PM), the kids playtime as were in an apartment so must all be dressed up to go out to the park. Feels REFRESHING to hear another stay at home mom / housewife / homemaker talking about her role and work, saying you’re tired. It’s a tight subject I think as it’s a work undervalued and not taken seriously at all in my opinion. You did fantastic, very inspiring too.
@@WithLoveKristina I did :) It is a beautiful video, really. You could have decided to show only the vintage aesthetic and cooking but by showing what the real life of a homemaker is aside from that, cleaning, fixing, rearranging, etc, you brought authenticity, it’s genuine. I love being a sahm and homemaker, and I never talk about this subject because on rare occasions I did, you can sense how poorly people think of this role, guessing it’s just being lazy watching tv all day. Well, not exactly. I feel the same regarding of being productive. When the kids nap, even if (if HAHAHA when)dead exhausted, I can’t lie down, I need to keep going, I knit; I also have noticed that if I stop moving, first I’ll feel guilty and second, the exhaustion will take over, rather than being active all day long strangely helps avoiding it.
It really does feel like it’s still a role that is looked down upon. I think that views are changing but I get asked “yes, but what do you do for work?” ALL the time if I’m out with my kids (well, before the pandemic). There’s a mindset that all adults must hold a paying 9-5 job even if they’re parents and it has made me feel like I have to justify my motherhood by explaining that I earn money in other ways At home. I love being a mom and a SAHM regardless! A d agree, keeping moving staves off the exhaustion somehow, haha!
@@WithLoveKristina I do think it’s a modern view, it used to be common, almost mandatory, all is not to throw away from back then and the view on the sahm was probably better back then. If you get a cleaner + a baby sitter and you go to work outside your home, that’s fine, but you doing those tasks and work, that’s laziness? I don’t know, people also judge with their values in mind, their expectations, experiences. There are bad and good back then and nowadays, yes there are vacuums now and dishwashers and washing machines etc, but the pressure regarding the instruction and education of the kids is, in my humble opinion, much more pressuring. We know that letting babies cry is extremely bad and can affect them neurologically, back then that was adviced, you must keep your kids occupied, you must feed them raw organic meals 5 times a day, you must shut screens, read books everyday, be careful not to use undervaluing words etc etc, the pressure is severe. It is the most important job because it’s taking care of children who hopefully will become decent human beings, my home is the safe place of my family. And there’s no salary, it’s 24/7 all year long and I’m finally coming to the point where I ain’t gonna take anymore crap and humiliating words from no one regarding my role.
I know, I know - Saturday is MISSING. But I ended up having to go last-minute Christmas shopping that day, and totally forgot to mention that in my recap I'm sorry!!! This video was a beast to make and edit, I really hope y'all enjoy it! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
You are such a loving momma 💓 I need to tell you that you are doing amazing ! Don’t get yourself down, you did more in one day then some people do in a whole week! I’m proud of you and I pray you see how wonderful you are doing and are proud of yourself 💓💓💓
Failed?? Are u kidding me? 4 Kids and all that work done!! And vacuuming while holding your baby 🥳 YOU ARE A HERO!! God bless you, woman-wife-mother🥰🥰🥰
I don't think that you failed. I enjoy watching your videos because you start on these cleaning routines when your home is in need of a deep clean. Like mine right now. I've neglected my home for months and instead of doing all the rooms today, I did the basic kitchen clean up and now I'm working on the living room. It's OK to be human and girl, no one is perfect. Not even in the 50's. You are a beautiful and inspiring woman. ❤💐🥰
This is amazing! Your house and family are beautiful and I appreciated the realness you showed in contrast to the usual high aesthetics situations that look totally staged and unreal! :)
Yay for you! I am always wondering where the children are in these 50s housewife videos. This was great. It is nice seeing someone wanting to be a great wife and mother. In my opinion, the whole purpose of being a housewife is taking care of the family. It was so sweet to see that your children wanted to help out, too. You are beautiful! Your family is beautiful. I will be watching more...
I watched this while doing my chores, and it is hands down my favorite 1950s housewife video! I love it because not everything is perfect and I’m certain that real 1950s housewives weren’t perfect either and many were likely trying to live up to the books and media put out on what housewives should be like. I also think that the expectations for housewives set in the 1950s have carried throughout decades and leave most women feeling like they’re not measuring up 🙋♀️. Women have most likely always felt like a hot mess doing their best as the jobs of a mother and wife can be never ending and all consuming. Great job! And thank you for taking up the challenge!
I really appreciated this vid. My husband and I watched some done by women without children and we agreed that with kids and/or a job, it would be a LOT harder. My mom grew-up in the 50’s. She has told me parents back then didn’t interact as much with their kids. Nor did they worry all that much about the kids’ happiness. They kept their kids clean, healthy, well fed and wanted them to do well in school. But play with them? Just hang out with them? No. If it was nice weather, their mom made them stay outside all day so she could clean and keep it clean. The had a lot less clothes and hung up all school clothes as soon as they got home and switched to play clothes. Mom did laundry once a week instead of everyday like we do with all our clothes nowadays. My Nana’s house looked great, but she had a very different relationship than I did with my mom- plus, my mom worked outside the home. As much as I loved my Nana’s clean, orderly house, I’m glad I grew-up in a messy house with a mom who spent time doing stuff with us. I don’t think you can have a perfectly clean and tidy house, cook every meal AND spend much time playing/interacting with your kids. Those 1050’s schedules were made to keep women home. I’m convinced of it.
I know this is an older ish video, but you hardly failed. I think you are amazing, and beautiful, and you're family is cute as can be! It's a far more realistic life in the 50's with children than all of these other people who want the aesthetic, but won't have the kids to make messes every time you turn around. You earned yourself a new sub. 😊 Peace and blessings to you and your family.
Perfect is the enemy of good. I've never seen any other 50's for a day youtubers who had kids. Yours is by far more realistic, probably even by our grandmother's standards. My first daughter was also very needy when I was an early 2000s housewife 😊, and it was so bad that the only way I could get through the day with other kids and chores was to baby-wear. My mother in law was a 1950s-60s housewife (she had my husband late in life) and throughout raising 7 kids and caring for her mother-in-law, she took a cat nap every afternoon.
Okay, I'm months late at this point, but I'm personally impressed and inspired. I follow a 1950s schedule in my home and also have kids and homeschool them at the same time. I saw no failures here. I saw a great and inspiring video made by an excellent wife and mother. It made my day, Sweetie. God bless you, Jesus loves you. You did awesome! ❤👍
Love your honesty and perseverance. The 1950's housewife has big shoes to fill as they grew up in this lifestyle and had a lifetime of experience in keeping house. Great job!
As a mom, I appreciate this video. Because my “vintage” life does not strike strong resemblance to some of the TH-camrs who don’t have children, I often feel insecure about how not “aesthetic” my home is. 😂And that’s why I need to see videos like this.
I love how real this was. I'm sure even in the 50's not every housewife accomplished everything everyday. Most of them had kids too. You did great and you looked fabulous doing it.
Oh my goodness! Why is this video so warming and comforting to watch?! I'm expecting my first right now, and I hope I can create such a loving, warm homey feeling for our baby ☺ Also, that tuna casserole looked too good. Tuna in on my no-no food list due to pregnancy, and I'm craving it so much! 😭
I really enjoy your vibe girl:) I'm watching yours instead of those other girls who have a perfectly executed 1950s day :) yours is valid because its applying the lessons from 1950s house wives :)
Good job! You're doing great. My mom had her first baby in 1949, then 1951 then 1957 so she was a true 1950's housewife. I remember the house was always neat and tidy. Don't know how she did it. I wish she was alive today so I could show her these types of videos. Maybe my memory is wrong. LOL. I was married at 38 and no kids so I bow to all of you who have all of this work to do. Don't know how you do it. Happy family is more important then a tidy house!
I loved the way u address that u suffer from anxiety and depression and u didn't fail u did ur best and I liked the way ur kids starting to help in with chores too I'm gonna give this a wee go n see how I go as a single parent and also suffer from depression ur an inspiration we'll done,!!!
I love learning things from back in the day; thank you so much for doing this video as a mom. Back than women had children and probably there were more 50s housewives who had children than they were just wives alone being able to do everything with no set backs or stopping to take care of the little ones. I just have my 2 yr old and making sure her schedule is on point while keeping my house clean is so hard but worth it; but GURL, WITH 4??! You're super women! Amazing job ! 👏
My great grandma had 8 children and husband that was pretty much a 9th child. I think you did everything right :). No failure. You made do, made sure everyone was feed and the house didn't cave in. I think women of that Era would give you a hug!
You didn't fail, you're just human. It doesn't matter how pretty your home is or what you cooked for dinner, you're a great mom and wife and that's all that matters! You did a great job, mama!! I enjoyed your video:)
I appreciate the real life of the kids. All other videos and literature I've seen seem to not include children and I'm like I know children were there somewhere 😀. 3 kids here. Minimalism has helped a LOT. Thank you for doing this! A fun watch!
I really liked this video. I'm positive that not all wives in the 50s always stuck to their schedules either. I loved how real you kept it. Awesome work👍🏼
OMG you did amazing ! Please realise the work you do just being a mom and adding that routine on it is like a warrior training. I admire you. Don't compare yourself with other youtubers who did it, you are a sunshine. Thank you for sharing that experience.
You have DESERT ROSE PLATES!😍 My grandma had the entire set, and now my twin sister has them. They hold a dear place in my heart❤️You are so gorgeous, and your family is such a blessing🙏 New subbie here! Vancouver, Washington State
When my children were small they both had glue ear and the younger one had quite painful reflux. I am so very impressed with your industrious housework and with your fifties theme. Don't compare yourself to people who are living a different life. You are doing amazing. Well done Mama.
As a child of the 50s, I remember watching my mother cook, clean, do all laundry including cloth DIAPERS (and hanging it all out on a clothesline), for 4 children. I just did not realize how much work this was for her. I would love to go back in time and tell her thank you.
This is my favorite 1950s video. I have 4 kids too, I know how it is and I feel happy that someone is showing real life. I hope this video goes viral! I love you.
I can't even count how many times I have watched this video over an over. I play it when I need some inspiration to get things done in my home and it's so nice to finally see someone whose home looks like mine and to do routines with kids. I still haven't found another tuber that has kids and has done a 50s style video. 🥰
The amount of times you had to pick up your living room is so relatable!! I swear I clean up the living room and I walk in 10 minutes later and the pillows are on the floor and there are toys everywhere! I loved this video 💜
I love you Kristina! You are amazing and you didn’t fail at all. Sticking to something like that while filming and editing it all is no joke!! You’ve inspired me to try and do this. I’ve been very much like you in that I keep waiting for things to be perfect. I should know by now that isn’t going to happen, and give it a go anyway. Thanks for your hard work and wonderful example.
I love you too Laci! And YES please share all the videos with us even if they aren't perfect! I think it was kind of a relief to put out something that wasn't super aesthetic - it kind of showed me that real life can be equally beautiful.
I really enjoyed your take on the 1950s housewife! Was it perfect, no, but I think you did an amazing job. Heck, my favorite parts of the video was seeing how loving you are to your sweet beautiful babies. A+++ on being a sweet momma. Thanks for sharing!
I thought you did well, so give yourself grace. From listening to my mom who raised children in the 1950s she would put the children to help clean. She would say “if you were old enough to make messes, you were old enough to learn to clean them up”. Make a game out of cleaning up their toys. My boy likes to beat the timer for a treat.
Yes! There's a clip in this video where the girls are helping, I try to get them to help clean as much as possible. And there's a TH-cam timer video my son LOVES to beat!
You are amazing Kristina. I struggle with depression and anxiety too and I don't have children yet. Watching you be a mother and keep a house is so inspiring. You are doing great! Well done!
I don't think that you failed at all! Your video is REALISTIC. Many of the videos you compared yourself to are carefully curated and children free. You are one very mama!! Your doing a great job and I subscribed to your channel today.
I wanted to let you know that you’re one of the only channel I can watch regularly and go back when I need some motivation. All the other channels like you said they don’t have kids. I love your channel and especially love that you’re the only one that looks like you. As in your beautiful clothing and hairstyle.
This video was so real and raw. I’m a young single mom and love all things vintage. You’re right, all the other videos had a certain aesthetic but your video was accurate and real and inspiring. It made it seem more possible to do something like this. 💕
Just got recommended this video and I have to say I appreciate it so much. I think this is the first one I have seen that actually had children in it. Most YT channels I have seen that have done this do not have children. I think this is more authentic to what a 50s housewife would have gone through. I am sorry there were people that were unkind about it.
In reality, a 1950s woman would likely have 4 children. You're doing swimmingly!! Super enjoying your Chanel. I was even inspired last night to purchase my first 1950s dress pattern, and I've not sewn a dress since the mid 1980s!!! ,(at least that I can remember)... 😅 BTW, my most favorite thing about the movie "Walk the Line" is June Carter Cash's (Reese Witherspoon) dresses in the beginning ❤❤❤ (cerca 1950s).
Bless you! You and your family are adorable! It brought back memories of raising my children back in the 90’s, early 2000’s. You’re doing a great job! Don’t sweat the small stuff! Enjoy the little one’s they grow up way too quickly! Mine are young adults now, and although it was exhausting, I sometimes miss those days.
I really enjoyed this version of the 1950s week with the messy house struggles and baby snuggles. I didn't see failures, just real life. :-) Two other reasons I liked this video: 1. Your cotton print dresses and aprons reminded me of my grandmother who still dressed like that in the 70s an 80s when I was a kid. I have several of her aprons that she made and wore.
I am so happy I found you! I love your videos. I just watched your dress review video and so appreciated a fellow nursing and plus size mom and the struggles with breastfeeding friendly vintage styles!!! After 7 babies, my waist has disappeared and my bust has grown with each nursing baby, I am so excited to watch all your videos and feel inspired to wear more vintage!
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄! I loved 🥰 this video! You did an amazing job!!! Thank you for sharing! Yes please more of this kind of videos! Best wishes and blessings! Inna ♥️♥️♥️💝🎄🎁🙏💄🎀👠👒👗👜
I know in this video you felt a little self conscious about not being like other 1950’s TH-camrs. I honestly loved this video! Nothing more real than how it honestly probably was as a mom in the 1950’s. It feels like I was actually watching a woman in the 1950’s and not some really old ad.
FABULOUS! I'm pretty sure most 1950s housewives found taking care of the house and kids equally as demanding. (Otherwise on what grounds would Betty Friedan have had to write the Feminine Mystique?) I found this video so relatable and so inspiring!
Oh, my gosh. I think this video was the most fun video that I have watched (other that multiple cat videos, ha ha) in a very long time, I was born in 1949 and I remember some of the routine of my mom. She always seemed to wear makeup, she fixed dad breakfast every day and my brother and I benefited from that. She always swept and vacuumed right before Dad got home from work. I had chores on Saturday - vacuum the carpeted living and dining rooms and the bedroom hallway, deep clean the hall bath, clean my room and change the bedding, iron dad's multiple dress shirts. I would call the video a success.
I just ran across your video and loved it, for all the things that annoy me about the other 1950 housewife videos. You are living like a REAL 1950 housewife with kids. Because this is how it’s always been. You are doing great. Keep up the good work!❤
This video is getting a lot of attention lately so I'd like to put out two things:
One, I don't include my kids in my videos a lot (they're here and there, but not all the time) because I do not make them do any sort of filming with me, ever.
I loved your video and watched it as it was, a little fun and taking the good from an era with a lot of problems (ehm 2021 anyone, what era doesn't have major issues ?)
💖💖💖
Being a good stay at home mom, no matter the year, is such a blessing.
You can have this life without all your fear .. Stop shaming people whom choose to
I loved your video. Can you imagine being a 50s housewife who suffered from depression???? Your skin is gorgeous and I have y
to ask what blush you use? Also....loved your mad hatter print. I'm new to your channel and going through quite a rough patch in life. This brought me joy. Thank you
YOU ARE HELPING ME GET MY ACT TOGETHER! I want you to know that and carry it with you forever. ❤
It was the same in the 70s when I grew up.
houses were much smaller as well!
If all the kids and members of the family are alive and happy you've succeeded.
Rach ^^This! That is the standard I live by.
Hah thank you! The “make pretty videos” person in me wanted it to be all cute and aesthetic but I liked seeing us in real life too honestly.
Yes! I agree!
Exactly 👍🏼
@@WithLoveKristina I think it looked good! You have cute things all around your house and take great shots! You’re both human and ~aesthetic ~
I really love that you mention her beauty was in the warmth of her home. That's what I want! Thank you for this lovely, lovely comment!
This is probably more authentic than any other 1950’s video. 💕
Thank you for thinking so!
As a mum this was what I was waiting for, a 50s week whilst dealing with kids. Thank you, you did good. x
Oh yay! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 1950s week with kids, so I knew I had to try.
Me too :)
youre the only person ive seen so far attempt this with kids..and when i saw "with kids" i was like oh she has maybe 2...but 4?? god bless you
Haha yes four! They're fun!
Also, it’s much easier to maintain these schedules without kids, or with school-age children who are gone most of the day. Thank you, friend!
My sentiments exactly!
All mom's will tell you "if the kids are still alive at the end of the day, you did well!" You did great!
This is TRUE. I tell all my mom friends this, but we are definitely all our own worst critics!
You did not fail! You did amazing! You took care of your home and your babies and your hubby! All happy healthy and loved! Thats whats important ❤
Thank you!
No day is a failure if it ends with everyone alive and well. You have 4 beautiful children who are happy and healthy. 50’s housewives started training for the lifestyle pretty much at birth You did an amazing job ❤️
SO true. I've got some home-economics books from the 1950s for school age girls and there's a LOT of housekeeping stuff in there.
You are not a failure. Anyone who can do all that you do and do it well is a star in my book.
Oh my I have so many thoughts about this (all good). First, I love this! Second, your husbands face when you gave him the drink was priceless!! Third, I think you shared a side of life that folks don’t usually show and that is important.
That’s why I wanted to push on and share it anyway. Things aren’t always perfectly aesthetic in life!
The Eyre Effect I am so glad you did!
Thanks!
I showed my great grandma this video and she loved it thank you so much it brought memorys back to her 😭
Well this made my heart melt. I’m so happy it brought back memories for her!
You didn’t fail at all, you did the most real video I have ever seen
Thank you, that's very kind of you to say!
I am a stay at home mom with three kids and I’m a total train wreck! I’m totally inspired to try this starting Monday!
Thrown together holiday decor is what I love best to be honest! I’m sure it’s pretty and memorable! Merry Christmas!
Every housewife in the 1950s was EXHAUSTED!
Honestly I’m sure they were! Motherhood is tiring enough but keeping a perfect house on top of it is a LOT
Hence the cigarettes?
You did a very realistic job ☺️ we often make everything seem Glamorous and not realistic.
So true. Thank you!
You absolutely did not fail! You learned and developed new habits and re established your priorities and look...your family is thriving! You are a brave and lovely lady! Keep up the good work! Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words!
I loved this version of the 1950s routine. It seems more realistic then a lot of the ones I’ve seen. You have a lovely home and family.
I loved this! So real and accessible. It was inspiring without being overwhelming. I bet this was more representative of most 1950s women with kids.
I think like someone else said, in the 1950s there was much less interaction with children and a lot more attention paid to keeping the house clean. It's certainly a busy way to live regardless!
There’s one more sticker in there, just one more!! You have a precious family.
She's always wanting to do just ONE more thing ;)
FINALLY a 50s housewife video with kids. Love it! Thank you so much for being realistic and not editing your life to look picture perfect! That''s definitely not an insult by the way, I genuinely mean that. THANK YOU!!
I love your videos because you are so real! You are honest about what works for your family and what does not work for you.
Motherhood is definitely more tiring than most people talk about online for sure! I’m so glad you appreciated that.
Forget the aesthetic! You nailed the family aspect. Wholesome content ✨
Haha thank you!
And I don’t feel like you failed at all! You gave me a lot of inspiration and motivation 😁💓👏🏼🙌🏼✨
Failed?? Are u kidding me? 4 Kids and all that work done!! And vacuuming while holding your baby 🥳 YOU ARE A HERO!! God bless you, woman-wife-mother🥰🥰🥰
Loved loved loved your honesty
Thank you!
Thank you so much. You have no idea what that means to me! I love making things pretty but also want to keep it real.
This is such a sweet comment, thank you!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
This is all so very true. Ha, also if I tried to just do the laundry once a week I'd be so bogged down!
So true.
Absolutely love this video. I believe this is the most realistic approach to 1950’s housewife. You’re amazing.
Thank you! I'm so happy you liked it!
I friggin' ADORE your strawberry🍓 teakettle 😍
Ooh thank you! It was thrifted!
So very true! I baby wear a lot when my littles are tiny.
Yes, I love the 1950s schedule. It really helps break up a lot of work in an easier way. God bless!
Love your honesty and perseverance. The 1950's housewife has big shoes to fill as they grew up in this lifestyle and had a lifetime of experience in keeping house. Great job!
It's fun to try, I definitely grew up in a different lifestyle!
As a mom, I appreciate this video. Because my “vintage” life does not strike strong resemblance to some of the TH-camrs who don’t have children, I often feel insecure about how not “aesthetic” my home is. 😂And that’s why I need to see videos like this.
I feel this so much and I'm so glad you appreciated it too!
I love how real this was. I'm sure even in the 50's not every housewife accomplished everything everyday. Most of them had kids too. You did great and you looked fabulous doing it.
So true! Thank you!
You got dressed and had makeup on I call that a win x
Haha honestly the little things like makeup and clothes are helpful to get other things done too!
You didn't fail. You rocked the 1950s housewife challenge. With kids.
It was so real and homely. If that makes sense.
This was not a fail. I really enjoyed watching this. You were being mum to your children while carrying out living in the 1950's. I really enjoyed it.
You should try a minimalist declutter video. It's so relieving as a housewife.
I’m not a minimalist and that’s ok ❤️
I never said there was anything wrong with not being a minimalist. I just said it's made my life a lot simpler.
Your kid helping you out with the dishes and some of the chores is so cute🥹🥰.
Thank you, you are so sweet!
You have DESERT ROSE PLATES!😍 My grandma had the entire set, and now my twin sister has them. They hold a dear place in my heart❤️You are so gorgeous, and your family is such a blessing🙏
New subbie here!
Vancouver, Washington State
I am very slowly growng my collection! I've loved the Desert Rose china since I was a kid, and I want them All!!!
@@WithLoveKristina?❤ Just now seeing your reply!
Oh my goodness! lol And I mentioned your plates, again, from your "100 year old maid routine" 😂
Taking care of 4?, 3? Kids... is a full time job and seeing what they did in the 50’s is fascinating. Loved your video! ❤️
Yes, I have four! Thank you!
When my children were small they both had glue ear and the younger one had quite painful reflux. I am so very impressed with your industrious housework and with your fifties theme. Don't compare yourself to people who are living a different life. You are doing amazing. Well done Mama.
A loving mother like you is always timeless ❤️
The strawberry theme in your kitchen reminds me of stuff my grandma had in hers 🥰
awww, I love that!
I love you.
Thank you so much!
I found your channel today, and I LOVE THIS! You are real!
Thank you!
I smiled through it all. I saw my mom’s mixer!! She was so proud of it
Ahhhh goodness! I try all the time to do this with a child and flop, so humbling to see you rocking it, as I do, authentically! 💛💛💛🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I LOVE these. Especially that you include your kids in this. As a new mom I feel the chaos.
I really enjoyed your take on the 1950s housewife! Was it perfect, no, but I think you did an amazing job. Heck, my favorite parts of the video was seeing how loving you are to your sweet beautiful babies. A+++ on being a sweet momma. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
In no way did you fail. You're an amazing mama and homemaker. I really enjoyed this very authentic video. And your makeup and outfits where fabulous!!
And there's a TH-cam timer video my son LOVES to beat!
ommggg this was my favorite "I lived like a 50's housewife for a week" video!
Ahhh thank you!
You are amazing Kristina. I struggle with depression and anxiety too and I don't have children yet. Watching you be a mother and keep a house is so inspiring. You are doing great! Well done!
I wouldn't claim this as a fail AT ALL! This was awesome and just from stories I've heard in my family through the years, you didn't fail.
I think you did FABULOUS! It is not easy to transition to the 50's housewife life. Thank you for trying and sharing. You inspired me!❤️
This is real life my dearest. Its lovely to see a mummy doing 1950s routine as like you say lots don't have the munchkins making a mess etc.
I do not think you failed. I am impressed by this video. I think you deserve a dishwasher. Great job.
You sooo did not fail! You did wonderfully! You should be proud of yourself!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this version of the 1950s week with the messy house struggles and baby snuggles. I didn't see failures, just real life. :-) Two other reasons I liked this video:
Awwww thank you!
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄! I loved 🥰 this video! You did an amazing job!!! Thank you for sharing! Yes please more of this kind of videos! Best wishes and blessings!
Inna ♥️♥️♥️💝🎄🎁🙏💄🎀👠👒👗👜
Merry Christmas dear! I hope you have had a wonderful day!
Hahah so true!
