Yuji Nishida (西田 有志, Nishida Yūji, born 30 January 2000) is a Japanese male volleyball player.
Nishida currently plays for JTEKT Stings, a volleyball club based in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. He made his debut with JTEKT Stings at V.League (Japan) on 6 January 2018 in a match against Osaka Blazers Sakai. His impressive debut at the young age of 17 soon earned him a position in JTEKT's Starting 6 as well as Japan men's national volleyball team.
He is one of the youngest players in the 2018 roster of the Japan men's national volleyball team and FIVB cup Final. He made his first international performance with the Japanese national team in 2018 FIVB Volleyball
Men's Nations League. In June 2018, he played a pivotal role in securing Japan's first win in 11 years against Italy where he collected 24 points from 21 spikes and 3 aces. In September 2018, in a match against Argentina in 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, Nishida became the youngest player ever to score 30 points in a match. In June 2019, Nishida broke serving records in the VNL history after hitting 7 aces in a single game during a match against Bulgaria.
On April 5th, 2021, Japan Volleyball Association (JVA) announced the Japanese national team roster for this season through the officially website, competing for the all tournaments in 2021 and Nishida was one of the roster.
On May 1st-2nd, JVA hold "Volleyball Japan National Team International Friendly Match-Tokyo Challenge 2021", preparing for 2020 Summer Olympics which be held in July, Nishida was the starting player of two matches. Japanese team beat China with a set count 3-2 and 3-1 respectively.
On May 8-9th, JVA hold "2021 Volleyball Men's National Team Red and White Match", which is a competing between Japanese national team themselves, Nishida had a name in starting player of the red team on 8th.[28][29] In the early of the first set, Nishida got an injury on his right ankle after landed from blocking, he couldn't walk by himself so he got carried out from the court and was taken to the hospital. The head coach of the team said that Nishida had taken a roentgen, the result was he had no fractures and was diagnosed with a sprain on the right ankle. Additionally, they had to consider about the further detailed inspection.
Nishida had the name in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Men's Nations League Japanese team roster, the competition would hold in Rimini, Italy, although he wasn't fully recovered. He cameback in the third week of the tournament, in the game with Poland, as a substitute. Nishida officially cameback as the starting line-up in the match against Bulgaria, Japanese team won with in a straight set and he was the top scorer of the game.
On June 21, Japan Volleyball Asssociation announced Japanese team roster for 2020 Summer Olympics, Nishida had a name as one of the opposite spikers

Nishida Yuji
He is one of the few players who transmits his energy to those watching the game. Volleyball player that makes you want to cheer more and more.
I think his sensations of jumping has changed because of the right ankle injury. His spikes are different than before. He may have gained new techniques.
Hes using his brain more than his power. You can tell he hits line, and cuts more. But hes doing that for his team, once he gets his confidence back, im sure he will go back to crosses, and also his new technique. So op, only if he gets his confidence back, i think
@@kimzee3812 I don't think confidence is they problem here though. I really think it's the injury.
@@randomdude1489 confidence is key. Cause you earn confidence, think about it. You dont get confident until you actually help yourself and do what you need to do to become confident. Yeah his injury is the problem, but when he has confidence, training his ass off for the olympics and recovering from his ankle injury. Then he will have confidence and play over 100%
@@kimzee3812 you have a point but that doesn't apply to Nishida though. What happened to him for him to lose his confidence? He moves like that cos he has an injury, confidence isn't his problem here cos he literally is the ace and pride of Japan and scores the most on his team. Not only that but international players fear him.

so many people said he looks not same as before .. of course something will always be different after you've got injuried, but nishida proves he could come back asap with his amazing performance .. great job young boy 💜

@@jaro8056 might be something in the approach and the angle with the net, before he jumps, but then you should check videos taken before his injury. I also saw less of the "catapult" kind of arm swing, before, he released all the energy in one time, it does seem that that's less the case now

Indeed. Powerful arm swing Nishida is quite less now. Still remember his swing easily reach 110+km/h ball speed. Nonetheless I can still see him improving his intelligent style playing the game
