I absolutely like how he is sharp and accurate to his response. It shows the amount of work and efforts he puts in his craft. Truly becoming a better leader everyday. Hope his team can keep up and live up to the same work ethics. I must still say, there are trash ministers. ;( otherwise, thank you DPM Wong.

I like the GST hike contributing to Inflation and cost of living crisis as raised by members. But our great leader give goodies. So this is the magic of Singapore. Raise tax and give rebates and vouchers. Some may say no need all this goodies if no Tax increase. True in a way, but I must be seen to be politically correct so I told him, I disagree with him.😅

    • @LonganLee
      @LonganLee 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Singapore has achieved what no countries have.
SG has invented a way to make tax hikes palatable to the peasants. My perception of the mechanics is as follows:
      1. Raise tax gradually.
      2. Give one-off rebates or vouchers. Note that such can be repeated.
      3. Go to step 1. Eg. Another year later, can rinse and repeat. But I not sure if this can be an infinite loop.
So, just my perception and not the reality.
Majulah! We base on Believing. I no need accounting truth. I speak for myself only. I am as smart as A.I😅🤡🤭🤣🏳️
But the COE, to me, is still the All-Time Greatest invention by the Spore. 🏆

Singapore has financialised the economy. It is using inflation to prevent the GDP from going below ZERO.
Now you know how NTUC supermarkets and SMRT make profits, right? Yes, buy increasing prices and fares, respectively.

Gauging from ur comment, I bet u r a foreigner, n u know wat I kind of support both our garment n ur suggestions but definitely not top 10% ....
      Reasons being:
      1) why I support?
. The intention of minimum wage for EP is to cut off unqualified Employment Pass holders....n tie tat heavy responsibility on employers to b selective on the foreign employees coming in....not to replace us but to support our work force....
. Hence with an increase on the minimum wage on the EP,
Tat wud only mean tat the employers will have to further tighten their belts....
To start cutting off further on employees who dun perform n unnecessary for their businesses....
E.g. 2 teachers' salaries cost an employer $8k, with increase in min. wage, e.g. $5k, I need to kick 1 off, pay the other $5k n yet as a result save $3k...😅
Anyway some foreign companies r relocating elsewhere hence their kids r leaving Sg too....hence we will c lots of foreign schools r losing the number of international students too....so why need so many foreign teachers?
      2) why I dun support ur suggestion even the top 10%?
      * ur suggestion r not contributing to our GDP....more of a selfish demands to only benefit oneself...
      * if u had cared enough to watch n listen to DPM Lawrence Wong speech, he did mention key things, his intention is to Increase productivity, Increase our country's GDP....
      * From ur comment, u mentioned:
      - u r working in an international school
      - my guess is u r an educator.... have u contributed directly to our country's GDP? Nope....why I say tat?
      * the international school u r working in, is considered as domestic business...which doesn't contribute much to our GDP....
      * the international school exists because of foreign expats who r not here for the long haul but yet need to bring their family here and their kids r studying e.g. in Canadian International School which is following Canada school curriculum.... hence u r employed bcos there's a huge no. Canadian Expats working here....with their families moving in together.....
      * Hence wat r u toking about why Singapore students dun study in these schools if we dun have intention to migrate to e.g. Canada...🥴😵‍💫🤯😂?
In conclusion, the budget 2024 is focusing on helping n uplifting the Sg workforce as a result to uplift Sg GDP, from international industries n domestic industries....
As for your school, international students come all just because of their parents r working here, only indirectly contributing to our GDP....
Pls note, is high time the government starts to focus on us, after spending so many years on focusing on yall, foreigners' demands and yet became a dead weight on our country's problem....doesn't help much on our economic growth n yet foreign investors r moving out cos operational cost r expensive n the workforce mostly filled with foreign workers r not productive at all....
Hence, ask urself why u c urself as so much more important over Singaporean as to demand a top 10% pay increment over us Singaporean?

@@user-pm5qq2kx9r You got it wrong, the comment is saying the qualification cut off wage for E pass and above should be a floating peg at the top 20%-10% of income earners, that way it'll really means this person's experience and skillset is rare enough to import. This is after observing so many local graduates underemployed, many of them even have 5-10yrs experience.

The subsidy is intended for you to buy a house to LIVE in. If you buy a BTO with 80k subsidy, the 80k subsidy will apply for the entire 99 year of your HDB ownership.
The subsidy is only taken back when you sell the BTO. Because now you are trying to profit off of it.

We jus need bto price to go lower than now which is the root cause..Handout & other assistant are a once off.
And v important to remember that HDB are public housing so locations should not be taken into consideration as part of pricing. Thats why we have balloting.
Same as school: u go to a good govt school , u pay same price..
U buy a better model car, u pay same coe..
    Its all base on balloting.
Also u go to a subsidise hospital and get to see a senior doc instead of a junior u are “lucky”..
Moe kindergardern also same price across the board.
So why bto which is PUBLIC HOUSING is different?

All this is bullshit, canada selling hagen daz icecream 5$ and for singapore $14 to $16.
Keep saying we doesn't have resources canada also doesn't due to winter for more than 8- 9 months
Per year Foreigners, due to more and more pr in singapore, are making the housing price increase. And a lot of company and a lot prefer hiring Malaysian than singaporean because they can maintain the wage rate rather than paying a singaporean is much higher. Foreigners earn more than a lot of singaporean. Why singaporean rather not take public transport not to salary is higher its because time is not enough work at the workplace go home also have to work they doesn't even have time for them. Which sleep isn't enough every early morning need to rush to work. Minister, how long didn't work in an mmc or smc. You ask us to learn skills, but the government focus on financial industry and other industry too much than technical industry. This government story telling super power 😅 cpf is a tax rather than force saving. Is singapore too focus on Gdp and foreigner than the benefits of singaporean. Singaporean work here earn here but can't run but singaporean no place to run only can stay here. Give skill future why don't focus more on kids package like alot of western country earn kids government give 300 to 800 per month till age of 18 and healthcare free. Western country tax 100k = 16% and with country benefit include pr but singapore 100k tax is like 7% to 9% but without any benefit. As long as a Chinese government they only think of $ than benefits towards the citizens.
Haha housing in singapore is singaporean renting or owning it?? Do we singaporean able to pass the property to 3 generation? All are story telling disappointed

That's why singaporean are sad to say too proud to accept facts and truth, and they never believe until they experience things in life. And this is a real fact that singaporean know singapore is safe they abuse the safety by using offensive words, "What can you do about it?" but in other countries, you give respect to earn respect. Try to use such words others in other country you may get gun shot. But in sg they know nothing will happen to them so they will you verbal and mentality abuse or even not respecting others. That's why working in sg not recommended look at them. Of course will go back goodluck spending 250k on a car than I only spend 50k on a car and a apartment that you don't own it than I am owning it . Truth always hurts but it's a in the whole world humans are the one that control the price of the market property or coe but not the government. No one buying no demand price drop see how China is doing now. Housing price dropping due to youngster give up on buying. Soon sg will happen to such situations. Good luck

    • @Funnyandfunalways
      @Funnyandfunalways 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@flowertowerrr you don't think, but that's the truth. 16% is tax, which is already including your income tax and 5% for your rssp, which you can withdraw out and take a lum sum out when you reach age 65. On top contribution of tax, you get benefit free health care and 1.7k per month of pension until you die. And this is not only for citizens. it also includes pr. Free school free school bus and give birth to kids 400 to 800 per mth for each kid until age 18. Singapore government is undenied rich, but they focus on investment towards infrastructure rather than health benefit. Keep saying the hospital is full ? Why not take the money to build more hospitals? See for yourself how many hospital there is only for 5.5mil people 20 polyclinics and gov hospital for major its only CGH/SGH/TTSH/SSH/KTPH/NUH/NTFH and 1 KK for womens and private hospital is 9.
Private hospital more than government hospital? Isn't a direct sign of earning money?
And why the government doesn't want to give people pension and free health care is because they want singaporean to keep working and spending money and earn money to contribute to cpf and increase gdp.
So people can not even slow down their pace. Only work without work. You are dead and can't survive if only you are rich. And insurance coverage 1 time of each parts example I got heart failure and I claim once and I can't claim another time either they cancel your insurance or they reject coverage your heart but other parts yes. Then what's the point of getting and coverage? Not 100%, which 95% 5 % still have to pay cash. In the past, it was 100% coverage. If I am a Malaysian, I am sick. I go back malaysia, seek a doctor, I claim insurance, and free health care by paying 1$. So, as a singaporean, tell me the benefit of singaporean? Name out 5 what I can think its only 2 safety and passport others hmm all is pay and pay and you earn more yes you pay more. 10 years ago, your mom saving 50k is a good sum of money, but now ? Take a good look.
Because what I defend my speech is by facts and realistic view towards what happen and no right no wrong. I don't hate them. You can't blame me for thinking like that because when my parents in the past own 30k hospital bill and I can't effort it seeking help with minister their answer to me is sell your parents house. I hope no singaporean will encounter such things that happen to me. Hope everyone is healthy and blessed. Because no one chooses to be sick.

As society advances and progress in modernisation instead of classical conservative society in the building of a nation especially women in singapore also have to contribute to the well being of the population of the nation so the population aged and fertility is low among the less educated sector of society as their ancestors have to hold jobs and pay for their offspring education either in theory or practical or skill or literature or culture or art and so forth. Education is a continuation and knowledge knows no coast. Just to have to know what you want in life. This comes by socialising. London society . Do you read London story fiction or non-fiction books in the Library at a young age or do repory writing for your professional education in higher institutions. I don't claim to be an expert but I do humble myself infront of higher class and the wealthier group of society especially those who contribute to the performance of the company wealth and asset and valuation of the co. inherent value either in tangible or intangible assets accumulation and transfer of business.

Why in digital economy I being a digital tech. and branching into commodity and hardware assets maybe soft spot or software business? In God or Jesus we belief in leading a fulfillment life. How do you define leading a life on earth and at the end of it without regards? What things have you desired and dream of and hope for that you miss or regret that times cannot turn back the clock? If you miss the train or bus is there another way out or a better choice or a brighter future knowing age is creeping up or looking ahead for a better life from the life leads by your parents? Because a girl like me still.... the reason is simple she wants a different life, lifestyle, and dreams and marriage or spouse different from her parents idea of a spouse and follow her idealism of a spouse and living condition and expectation in life and 'job'?
