Shoulda strapped and supported the expansion tank and it should be mounted vertically, other than that, easy money! I use a bracket to mount the expansion tank to the side of the heater, if you use self tapping metal screws 3/4" it works like a dream and looks nice too.
Nice job security putting the x tank sideways with no support. When it fails in a few months and breaks off they can pay you to come back and screw it up again! 🎉
dude i always put shut off valves above the water heater. it's just a few bucks for a ball valve. but it saves you from having to shut the water off at the meter if anything happens.
