HI, KURT! As always, you have been exemplifying the best of humanity. The world would be such a better place if we all put a greater emphasis on showing respect, empathy, compassion, love, kindness and generosity. Thank you for all that you do. We always pray for your safety, good health and more success on your future endeavors. Take care and God bless you. Your avid twin viewers from Illinois, Josephine and Jocelyn
Magandang araw, @tagalogkurt. Good thing you covered that boy's call of nature, hahaha! Talagang ganyan sa Pinas. Kahit nakasulat na'ng "bawal umihi rito," ay hindi pa rin sumusunod ang mga tao, mas lalo na ang mga bata. You succeeded in covering him with your body. Thank you ulit sa mga kabutihang-loob mo sa aming mga kababayan. Malapit na ang 100k. Ingat lagi and God bless. Still hoping you can drop by LA sometime, 😶
My favorite way to cool down after a hearty meal is definitely with a refreshing buko juice. Besides that, I love eating cold melon or watermelon. Another way I like to unwind is by relaxing in the garden, lying on an outdoor hammock, taking a walk among the trees, or even dipping in the river. I really enjoy being around nature-trees, hills, and mountains are my favorite.
Hi Kurt, I am a follower from Durham city, North Carolina. I’m Filipino American and thanks a lot for promoting Filipino food and culture. Take care and be safe.❤🙌👍
Kuya Kurt, ang laki ng ipinayat mo sa video na ito! Hindi ka na huggable bear, pero gwapo pa rin kahit may sipon at panay ang singhot. (You’re not a huggable bear anymore, but you still look handsome, even with that cold and with the constant sniffling.)🤧😆😂 Stay healthy and take care!
A cold, pure pineapple juice is my go-to drink to pair with a hearty Filipino meal, especially when the food is greasy/ heavy. It's my 'pantanggal ng umay' or 'palate cleanser.' It refers to something that removes the feeling of being overwhelmed by rich or greasy food.
Since I always see it in your vlogs, I also started drinking Prime hydration drink in lemonade flavor, and I even add real lemon juice to it. That’s one of my new favorite drinks to pair with a hearty meal.
Longsilog is my favorite silog.😁 Kurt, I watched this late last night and I was soooo sleepy...dozed off and woke up at the last part. Rewinded and tried to watch it again but slept through it. Anyway, watching it now when I'm fully awake!😂😂😂 The vlog was like a mukbang...watching you eat spoon after spoon enjoying the liempo silog.😁👍 LIEMPO = pork belly SNIFFLING = singhot ng singhot
It seems like the cooking style of Liempo is similar to Pork Rebusado, which makes it crunchy and flavorful. Pork Rebusado is known for its crispy texture. The batter coating, when fried, gives it that delicious crunch.
The buko vendor did the right & proper way & the clean way of dispensing your drink without laying a touch on it! Admirable & very much worthy of the tip you gave him! And thank God for your generosity! May your tribe prosper! By the way, the way most Pinoy would consume that refreshment on the road is sipping the juice with a straw then using the plastic bag as a glove to hold unto the coconut meat while eating it! Another 'daring do' is to bite off a corner of the inner bag & use it as a 'drain'.The best thing to do though is to take it home & enjoy it, especially after a stay in the fridge! Good job though Kuya vendor! Godspeed!
Ahhh okay I was confused about the best way to drink it and I ended up leaving it under the scooter seat ALL DAY in the heat! So needless to say it was soured that day 😭
Hello Kurt, i enjoy watching your video and how you bring joy to the staff of the carinderia. I am most grateful that you enjoyed the liempo silog that was served you. Pls continue vlogging, we all support you. Good day.
Hi Kuya Kurt - I hope you feel better, please try drinking hot tea with lemon and honey (if it’s organic honey it’ll be much better to improve your colds). And stop leaking your hands because you’ll spread germs especially you’re kind of sick, take with you some Kleenex when you’re outside because it’s best when you have colds. I’m so proud of you to be able to speak Tagalog and kind of understandable compared to other folks who are just learning the language. And you’re very kind and humble in giving out tips to these people who truly work hard as you said. I’ve watched several of your vlogs and really liked it. I’m a new fan of yours, Filipina, senior from Texas. Take care always.
Zevia or water. I ❤ coconut, but unfortunately it's difficult to find fresh buko in the USA. I soooooo miss the Philippines and watching you somehow makes me feel that I am there enjoying what you are enjoying. Thank you! ❤😊🙏🏼☝️🤙
I prefer to eat at a karinderya rather than a restaurant. A karinderya offers the charm of authentic, home-cooked meals made from fresh, local ingredients. It's a budget-friendly option where you can enjoy hearty, flavorful dishes reminiscent of family recipes. The casual, friendly atmosphere often provides a more personal dining experience, and it's a great way to support local businesses and immerse yourself in the community's culinary culture. Perfect for a satisfying meal that feels like home. Eating at a restaurant often provides a wider variety of dishes and a more polished presentation. It's an excellent choice for special occasions or when you're in the mood to try something new and exciting. However, restaurants are generally more expensive than karinderyas, and portions can sometimes be smaller compared to home-cooked meals. Additionally, some restaurants might prioritize presentation and ambiance over the authenticity and soul of the food. Both have their merits, but personally, I find the charm of a karinderya hard to beat. The authentic, home-cooked flavors, the affordability, and the cozy, casual atmosphere make it a winner for everyday meals. It feels like a comforting hug in food form, and supporting local businesses is always a plus.🌟🍽✨
You still have to be cautious. Philippines do not have sanitation grade system like in the USA. Just be aware of the resto. Must be clean, must have customers, and always look online for past customers comments. It’s not a good feeling if your stomach is upset after eating in a local karenderya. Just to let you know😊😅😮
Thank you for your input; I appreciate your concern about sanitation standards.😊 Karinderyas often cook in smaller batches using fresh, local ingredients. This can actually be quite safe. Compared to the traditional methods my ancestors used, today's preparation standards are much improved. For example, we used to get water from natural springs, cook in clay or bamboo, and wrap food in banana leaves. Despite the lack of modern sanitation grades, people in my community often lived to be 90 years or more. I find the charm and authenticity of a karinderya meal hard to beat. No worries, I've been around germs since birth due to a ritual performed by the midwife (hilot)😆. Plus, I'm not your typical classy or sophisticated woman; that's just not who I am. 😂
