I visited this great station in the mid-1950s to mid-1960s. I was a busy place then. Wonderful meals at the Fred Harvey restaurant. What a tragedy it is to see it today.
I must say,st.louis Union station is one of the most beautiful train stations in the world!! I remember going there as a child in the 60s.I hate st.louis!! but that is one beautiful station!!
Watching this on the bus as literally we pull up into Civi Center (station they showed being constructed at the beginning of this video) while I can see Union Station in the background. Lol
Thankfully the people of St. Louis had the foresight to preserve much of this wonderful station complex for future generations to admire and enjoy.

I'd love to have tagged along with you then.
Modern American culture is about the suburbs and more space. In my experience, awesome train stations are now found outside of America
I was a child during the war years and had occasion to visit Union Station many times then. Th crowds were amazing!

Great Story !!
Who would have ever thought that a train station would have to make way for a highway.
The forcing of change.
I've been the old and the new one so pretty and amazing
I remember when that station was built.
A past life perhaps?
