At 77, I can say from experience that I have explored all of these rolls. Knowledge, experience, wisdom and age favor the roll played. Old souls have done all of these rolls in one lifetime or another and that experience can leap to the front in a specific situation. I have not studied martial arts except for Classical Dressage (an equestrian discipline) in this life, yet on two occasions when I was attacked, the moves were right there, reflexively.
