Thanks Eddie. This was one of the classic games of all time. Just because you lost, dont disgrace the teams by claiming you got cheated. I was on the field for the face mask play; I have the tape at home. Your guys didn't have to chase the kicker at all...they couldn't have returned the ball for points for anyway. If they were smarter, maybe the game ends differently. -Mike Conners BU#73

right, I found that out. And instead of completely tearing the program down, they should've invested in it. Recruited better players and a top head coach (ex-NFL, maybe). I feel that people forget to understand that college football brings campuses together and that college football brings in exponential amounts of money (albeit, if the team is good) to the school.

And BTW, it was a 15 pt lead you blew. We got two TD's AND a 2 pointer in the last 6 minutes just to get to OT. And Kyle's right...Andre Allen and his purple moon boots were a yard offside on every play.
The record shows that in 1993 11-0 BU beat 7-4 UNI 27-21 in double overtime. Get over it. It happened 14 years ago. I agree that being happy about the demise of BU football is very unsportsmanlike.
Why so much bitterness after so many years? UNI's football program has done extremely well in Div. IAA. UNI's Kurt Warner went on to play in two Superbowls and win a national championship. UNI has over ten players currently in the NFL. Why pick on the now defunct Boston University football program?
Not being a "donovan", might I say that (if you saw the same game I did) BU got a "mulligan", and UNI beat you fair and square. The refs called a penalty that wasn't a penalty, at the very worst time. It decided the game. I notice that "the gift" as we call it was conveniently missing from your video. Congrats to BU. 11-0 is awesome. 11-1 was your fate. 12-0 is what the refs gave you.
By the end of the 1993 regular season, the Terriers had rolled to an 11-0 record, setting a school record for wins in a season. For the first time in nine years, they advanced to the NCAA Division 1-AA playoffs. In the opening round, they eliminated Kurt Warner and the University of Northern Iowa, 27-21, in double overtime.
I'm wearing my new BU Football Club Shirt. That's right! We now have a club team, and the campus has finally gotten together and are pushing to make it recognized by BU. I'd love to see a BU/BC football game before I graduate.
I was at that cold Thanksgiving game in 1993. That is quite an accusation you are making. Can you be a little bit more specific regarding the circumstances when "the gift" occurred? Do you have any press clippings or highlight films from 1993 that support your thesis? Until you can provide new evidence to help me reevaluate my view I will agree to disagree with you.
Regardless, the hockey program is OK at best. BC is still better than us. We pride ourselves on a meaningless hockey tournament (beanpot) that none of the 4th other schools give a crap about. I'll be proud of BU hockey when we actually win a title. In the meantime, I'll keep dreaming about how BU BC football games televised on ESPN could have been....

What's up with the jacked up aspect ratio?
Great to hear from you. I hope you are doing well. It is great to hear that you are doing something you are obviously passionate about. Keep in touch!
