Just got back on his area , Rock Pirates took good care of us and I have to say as well this was the best off road experience I’ve had to date. Awesome scenery.
@Steven Goodnight I haven't gone yet. Long story, but I had some legal issues and then this year I was layed off. Not sure if I'm gonna make again this year. To much unknowns.
Truly a beautiful area, my wife and I have ridden ADV bikes there several times now. What this doesn’t touch on though . . . is how absolutely packed these trails are anymore. It really detracts from the experience. Still worth experiencing 👍
This video shows how Beautiful it is up in those mountains but nothing compares to being there . I took my family up there summer of 2015 we saw Moab Utah and Grand Canyon ete but nothing compared that part of Colorado . Check out Ouray Colorado also it’s in the same area . Truly a special place
We did this ride two years ago. Absolutely beautiful ride! Truly breathtaking... and we used rock pirates. Great people. But be careful of what roads you are on, we got pulled over for turning in to the wrong street be the police and they don’t play!
@@doctordr1397 yes, but you have to buy the trail pass, not sure what that cost. And I believe that you have to have your SXS tagged and insured, check into that
Curious if anyone else noticed that huge trout jump out of the water at 16:45 seconds when he skipped the rock in the water talking about the Rio Grande River 🤔👍
We are headed there at the very end of May 2021 with SxS. Helpful suggestions would be appreciated as in weather, type of clothing, and what to expect. Coming from Arkansas our weather is HOT by this time. Just need to know what to plan for. Thanks!!
2021 might be the last year of this Destination, at least as far as Silverton is concerned. Wonder what Polaris Adventures and Rock Pirates rentals think about the city counsel of Silverton voting to ban UTV's from Silverton? I guess that would end their business, as it is today, with their rental company located in downtown Silverton. The vote got pushed back to this fall, so I went ahead and went for potentially one last ride thru Silverton this summer. I saw no reasons while there why UTV's shouldn't be allowed in town. Nothing but courteous riders bringing lots of revenue into the local economy.
We have been going up to Silverton since 1969 when those trails were barely wide enough for 1 vehicle. They are like 4 lane highways now, Absolutely beautiful, Best thing Silverton did was to allow 4 wheelers to be driven in town. You guys need to try out Lost Trails Creek 50 inch trail, Its a 4 miles behind the Rio Grande Resivor and is 8 miles 1 way . Definitely a advanced riders dream. I have a few videos of it on my channel. My Can Am 570L eats those mountains up. Like the video and Thanx Fer Sharin !!!!
1/15/23 Can anyone give me a update on if you can still drive a SXS in town? Seen a post saying they were looking at banning UTV's. I am looking at bringing my own.
I’m trying to plan a trip where I can rent a utv and have some fun. Only problem is I see these people riding 3mph. Why even offer them a 1000 if they don’t use the power?..
The road/trail to Kite actually comes out with Kite Lake positioned on the left. The trail this summer got really narly toward the end due to major snowfall., It was really great.
I am guessing it was filmed probably around late August or September. Usually the high country has a presents of snow in June and into July, depending if the year has sufficient snow.
This is like Harley Davidson....rent crap all over the USA..pay daily rental..daily insurance and fuel and pay for break downs out in the middle of no where. You better have one hell of alot of money for this vacation trip...and be ready for no vaseline...when done....no way in hell from my house..
Nothing more beautiful or better then Colorado
I am gonna visit this place soon for sure
Will have to ride the Alpine. Have riden in Co. and AZ a lot with my RZR 750, also some in southern CA.
My favorite wheeling spot in Colorado!!! Great video!

Ive already been looking to plan a trip to Colorado shortly after buying my RZR 1000 a few months ago. I'm so ready for this ride!!!!!!

How much did it cost you
I think it was $600ish to rent the RZR for the day, but that also includes trail passes.
Okay, I'm guessing you can bring your own sxs also instead of renting?

How fun. I did this with a 1990 Nissan hard body 4X4 and it is unforgettable.

if that happens, rent a UTV at Lake City instead and ride the loop, thats what we did, Lake City is a nice little town too.

cool, but they're not 4 lane highways. I live there. If you're in a quad, you normally need to slow to a crawl to pass oncoming riders.

Pole Creek is what you cross twice to get to Kite Lake(1 of many head waters to the rio grande) Still love those trails though
Where can you stay while there
Why the hell do you need a RZR when you only drive on roads.
Can you bring your own atv?

They're governor..they don't let you open the 1000 up.. would be nice but were talking rentals
How many miles did you cover looking for a five day trip with camping on the trail
I have to go!!!!!!!!
I’m so going to do this!
So did you complete the 80 miles in one day or did it take longer?
Hey Dusty! This ride took a few days.
Wait I thought you can ride right on past Kite Lake
On the left side is a rocky road
Right ?

Pretty sad no more Silverton for the side x sides . They don't want you there.
Can you ride ATVs here?
Yes, you can!
What is the average cost per day / per week....to rent say a General...?
225.00 a day....that is cheap for you people who live with Mommy and Daddy...and pay for nothing...and dont work...
Way to be an ass phil
Looks like a lotta fun... but i got a Honda
Why I traded my Honda for a Polaris! I've even been accused of being paid by Polaris for my love of their total package programs, lol
