Three headcanons: 1. Ren kills Tsubaki. In her dying moments, the promise ring from when they were kids goes flying. She tries to get it but dies before she can. Ren realizes "holy crap, it's mah childhood friend" and cries as she dies. 2. Ren puts his sword in Tsubaki's hair bun, where she was keeping the promise ring all along. When it goes flying, he realizes "holy crap, it's mah childhood friend" and lets her go, but cries because she killed Lily. 3. Ren and Tsubaki already know "holy crap, it's mah childhood friend" from Karakuri Burst. In this duel, they're about to kill each other, but the memories come flowing back, and so Ren deliberately misses Tsubaki's head and impales her hair bun, sending the promise ring flying. They use that as an excuse not to kill each other, and Ren cries because he has to leave her. AGAIN.
Ren was suspicious that Tsubaki was Rin, his childhood friend. So instead of stabbing his 'could be long lost friend' he stabs the flower in her hair, which sends the promise ring flying he gave her when they were little. Tsubaki (( Rin )) tries to reach for the ring before it could reach the flames but failed. And Ren realizes "HOLY SHIT ITS MAH CHILDHOOD FRIEND!" He sheds a tear. Pretty sure no one dies... Hopefully
For everyone who wants to know what happens at the end, Len made a decision to save Tsubaki (Rin) than killing her, he takes her to this medical emergency, in the emergency room, her arms were tied up and Legs, Ren (Len) makes sure if she was alright, he now realized that he finally has his childhood friend back. As Tsubaki (Rin) woken up, she remembers Len as on of her childhood friend from the past, She apologizes to him for her foolish actions etc (Not sure though). Ren forgave her , suddenly he was crying happily cause he's happy to have her back in his arms again. He holded her hand tightly that everything will be alright, and nothing or anyone will ever separate them again, at final, they sat together looking at the sun just like they did at their old times in the past. (End) Edit 2/25/23: Len was actually proposing to Lily at the time but Rin (Tsubaki) ended up killing her- which later on in the song showed a visual of Len being depressed because he lost his partner. (Lily was confirmed deceased). It was later hinted that Len realized and came into the conclusion that Tsubaki and Rin (His childhood friend that was taken away from him) are the same person. Which it was difficult for him rather or not he should kill, destroy, forgive, or save her. But in the novel it was shown that Len prefered to save her rather than to kill. Which at the later part, Tsubaki (Rin) showed some resentment and saddened emotion. Why? Because she also realized that the person who she was trying to destroy and kill was her past childhood friend that later on joined the Manji Police force. Rin (Tsubaki) in this story was taken away and being used as an experiment that Miku earlier wanted to create which successfully turned Rin into a killing machine and mislead. It's uncertain if she was brain washed but it was clear that Rin was trained and used as an experiment by Miku for years which led for Rin (Which it is believed that Miku changed her name) to be Tsubaki. It was possible that she had her eye injured by mechanicals when she was taken away. Len Got his eye injured due to the mechanicals giving him the injury which is why he was wearing an eye patch. Len for years after Joining the Manji Police force, his goal was to end the war and save his childhood friend but part of him believes that Rin might've already been killed. Throughout his time, he met Lily who he thought he could heal from a tragic past. Ultimately, Lily and Len fell in love and became lovers throughout their time, he initially wanted to marry Lily but however due to Tsubaki's Rampage which led to the demise of Lily. Len felt heartbroken. Lily reminded him of Rin and her kindness, its not really proven if that was the reason why he wanted to marry her but it could be that Lily was likely reminded Len of his childhood friend. Later on, he was able to realize that the whole time, he was fighting his own childhood friend which he initially was trying to destroy and kill as well but going on with the rest of the song, he didn't. The reason why Len decided to Save Tsubaki, was because of the ring that jumped out of Tsubaki's hair bun (i believed) which led to the conclusion. It was the same exact ring that Len gave to Rin kept as a promise. A symbol of their friendship. Possibly rememberance too. This made Len's suspicion to be confirmed. It was given that Tsubaki was holding on to the ring for years, and still cherished it before it was jumped out and burnt into the fire which Tsubaki herself couldn't reach and get it back which made her broke down. This ultimately led to Len debating his true feelings. Obviously that ring was precious to her. Because it was given by the person who had given to her as a child. Tsubaki (Rin) was able to regain her memories of their past (Same with Len). And pretty much what sums up to to patch up their friendship, possibly their developed relationship. To give everyone an insight, Len and Rin were orphans. Len's parents was initially killed by one of the mechanics terrorists. It is possible that Rin's parents was also killed by the same people. Both attended a school and were poor. Rin was the first friend that Len made during their time. And played around a lot. They found a ring where Len himself gave to Rin as symbol of their friend ship. It was going quite well but their lives were in danger. What led to the disaster was that their city was under attack by the mechanics which caused massive destruction among the city and people. Several of them injured and some deceased from the incident. Rin was damaged and taken away by some scientists that worked for the mechanics evil organization. Len who tried to get Rin and fight was injured as his eye was slashed by the mechanical people. Which led to him being unconscious but later on saved by paramedics and taken to the medical center. At that moment, he was confined and joined the Manji Police force as a child later trained by Kaito and the rest for years. He wore an eye patch to cover his scar. His solely goal at the time was to see if he could try to find and save Rin. But was unable to. Since it was believed that she may have been deceased. Len may have forgiven Rin's sins. Which is why he took her into the medical field-which he held Rin's hand and refused to let her go, which obviously Rin did the same thing but remorseful and tired as it was shown in the visual. This made Len finally be at peace. At the end of the novel, the visual of Len and Rin was demonstrated that they're patching up their relationship at all cost. (Len developed love for Rin). Pretty much the whole thing I could understand from the novel.
Rin and Len are always the more miserable in every songs, if they survive everyone else dies but if they die everyone else survives maybe one day they will find a way for them to survive without triggering the world (still waiting tho)

get yer facts straight people. Rin dies more often than Len. It just happened to be the popular songs where Len dies. ;-; So uhh... what's the story with this one? I mean Len proposed to Lily and stuff. kinda confused here peeps.
this is a followup to karakuri burst, basically there's a psychotic killer called tsubaki (rin) working under Miku (boss of some messed up organization) as some sort of servant/puppet doing her dirty work. Len is a member of a group that appears to fight this organization, and Lily is another member who fights alongside him who seems to have affections for (because her kindness reminds him of a childhood friend from an orphanage). Now the story of Len at the orphanage is that he found a girl who was similar to him (appearance wise, her name is Rin) and they got along well together, and made some sort of promise on a ring. Rin later got separated from Len and from then she was probably trained to kill and lost her ability to feel and the memories of her childhood friend. Len on the other hand was raised as the good guy, but he always remembers Rin and wants to find her. After an encounter with Tsubaki he has suspicions that she could be Rin and Lily comforts him. I'm not 100% sure about the next part but Miku assigns Tsubaki to kill Lily. And it seems that Tsubaki interrupted when Len was about to propose to Lily. He goes into a fit of depression and he's so mentally shaken that at his next encounter with Tsubaki he nearly goes crazy. When he finally catches her she taunts him into stabbing her but (for some reason) he stabs at the flower in her hair, and out comes the promise ring. Tsubaki/Rin desperately reaches for the ring, probably only instinctively knowing it is important since she's had it from childhood but can't remember what happened exactly with the ring. At this moment Len is certain Tsubaki is his long lost childhood friend, but he's conflicted over whether to save and forgive her after all that's happened. Aaannd that's how far I'm going to go c:
all this years and I still find new details everytime I came back dang at 3:40 the lyrics said "who is it that I want to protect?" and it flash to the young rin and then "who is it that I want to destroy" and it flashes to the current rin. in the end because they can't go back, len decided to kill this current, evil rin. sobs
Late but he actually decided to save her. He found out that she was being mind controlled by the ones who kidnapped her and it was from a flower that she was wearing and he destroyed that which caused Rin to remember who she was again.
Don’t know if this is already mentioned but: I believe Tsubaki or Rin (her real name) was the first Karakuri (Mechanical) robot that are designed like a cyborg created by a criminal organisation led by Miku (idk her actual name if she has one). Rin one day escaped to an orphanage or somewhere where she met Ren who stated that they look alike and fell in love with her. They made a promise with a ring made from a plant to be together and Rin kept it. One day the criminal organization came and took Rin back, separating Rin and Ren with both getting injured between then and when they meet again. As a result of this they experimented on her and also wiped most of her memories including being with Ren, they also altered her to be loyal to the group along with changing her name to Tsubaki and killing people, therefore she felt as if she had no purpose of living like a “doll” or puppet. (referring to her lines in Karakuri burst). Many Karakuri puppets were created to kill and the caught the attention of the manji police (Ren’s group he’s in) Both didn’t recognise each other and felt like the were searching for someone but eventually met and fought each other unknowingly (hence the song Unmei Gokko) She killed Lily(Idk if that’s her name) a fellow team member of Ren whom fell in love with and planned to propose but under Miku’s orders was killed. Heartbroken he fell into despair and eventually had a thought that Tsubaki was Rin. Eventually things got desperate as the criminal organization was rising with their Karakuri robots among other things. Both Tsubaki and Ren clashed and eventually her flower revealed the ring she cherished that fell in the fire with her crying, she felt confused on whether to kill him or save him. Tsubaki got injured and nearly died (supposedly attempted to be killed since she’s no longer useful) but survived with a crying Ren by her side. I based this on what I interpreted with parts from the novels I found online and the songs. Could be wrong though.

レンは幼い頃にリンと生き別れ、リンを守るためのつもりで闘って来た。その敵側に当のリンがいることも忘れ去ったまま。
そして最終対決になり、リンと戦うことになったレンは全てを思い出してしまう。
「守りたいのは誰だ、壊したいのは誰だ」
守っていたはずのリンを殺さなければ行けなくなってしまったレンは泣く泣くリンを刺し……

ストーリーが作り込まれてるのも凄いし、メロディに対してハマりすぎてる歌詞とそのワードセンス。まじで尊敬。どうやったらこんな歌詞かけるん、、。

For everyone who wants to know what happens at the end, Len made a decision to save Tsubaki (Rin) than killing her, he takes her to this medical emergency, in the emergency room, her arms were tied up and Legs, Ren (Len) makes sure if she was alright, he now realized that he finally has his childhood friend back. As Tsubaki (Rin) woken up, she remembers Len as on of her childhood friend from the past, She apologizes to him for her foolish actions etc (Not sure though). Ren forgave her , suddenly he was crying happily cause he's happy to have her back in his arms again. He holded her hand tightly that everything will be alright, and nothing or anyone will ever separate them again, at final, they sat together looking at the sun just like they did at their old times in the past. (End)
Edit 2/25/23: Len was actually proposing to Lily at the time but Rin (Tsubaki) ended up killing her- which later on in the song showed a visual of Len being depressed because he lost his partner. (Lily was confirmed deceased).
It was later hinted that Len realized and came into the conclusion that Tsubaki and Rin (His childhood friend that was taken away from him) are the same person. Which it was difficult for him rather or not he should kill, destroy, forgive, or save her.
But in the novel it was shown that Len prefered to save her rather than to kill. Which at the later part, Tsubaki (Rin) showed some resentment and saddened emotion. Why? Because she also realized that the person who she was trying to destroy and kill was her past childhood friend that later on joined the Manji Police force.
Rin (Tsubaki) in this story was taken away and being used as an experiment that Miku earlier wanted to create which successfully turned Rin into a killing machine and mislead. It's uncertain if she was brain washed but it was clear that Rin was trained and used as an experiment by Miku for years which led for Rin (Which it is believed that Miku changed her name) to be Tsubaki. It was possible that she had her eye injured by mechanicals when she was taken away.
Len Got his eye injured due to the mechanicals giving him the injury which is why he was wearing an eye patch.
Len for years after Joining the Manji Police force, his goal was to end the war and save his childhood friend but part of him believes that Rin might've already been killed.
Throughout his time, he met Lily who he thought he could heal from a tragic past. Ultimately, Lily and Len fell in love and became lovers throughout their time, he initially wanted to marry Lily but however due to Tsubaki's Rampage which led to the demise of Lily. Len felt heartbroken. Lily reminded him of Rin and her kindness, its not really proven if that was the reason why he wanted to marry her but it could be that Lily was likely reminded Len of his childhood friend.
Later on, he was able to realize that the whole time, he was fighting his own childhood friend which he initially was trying to destroy and kill as well but going on with the rest of the song, he didn't.
The reason why Len decided to Save Tsubaki, was because of the ring that jumped out of Tsubaki's hair bun (i believed) which led to the conclusion. It was the same exact ring that Len gave to Rin kept as a promise. A symbol of their friendship. Possibly rememberance too.
This made Len's suspicion to be confirmed. It was given that Tsubaki was holding on to the ring for years, and still cherished it before it was jumped out and burnt into the fire which Tsubaki herself couldn't reach and get it back which made her broke down. This ultimately led to Len debating his true feelings.
Obviously that ring was precious to her. Because it was given by the person who had given to her as a child. Tsubaki (Rin) was able to regain her memories of their past (Same with Len). And pretty much what sums up to to patch up their friendship, possibly their developed relationship.
To give everyone an insight, Len and Rin were orphans. Len's parents was initially killed by one of the mechanics terrorists. It is possible that Rin's parents was also killed by the same people. Both attended a school and were poor.
Rin was the first friend that Len made during their time. And played around a lot. They found a ring where Len himself gave to Rin as symbol of their friend ship.
It was going quite well but their lives were in danger.
What led to the disaster was that their city was under attack by the mechanics which caused massive destruction among the city and people. Several of them injured and some deceased from the incident. Rin was damaged and taken away by some scientists that worked for the mechanics evil organization. Len who tried to get Rin and fight was injured as his eye was slashed by the mechanical people. Which led to him being unconscious but later on saved by paramedics and taken to the medical center.
At that moment, he was confined and joined the Manji Police force as a child later trained by Kaito and the rest for years. He wore an eye patch to cover his scar.
His solely goal at the time was to see if he could try to find and save Rin. But was unable to. Since it was believed that she may have been deceased.
Len may have forgiven Rin's sins. Which is why he took her into the medical field-which he held Rin's hand and refused to let her go, which obviously Rin did the same thing but remorseful and tired as it was shown in the visual. This made Len finally be at peace. At the end of the novel, the visual of Len and Rin was demonstrated that they're patching up their relationship at all cost. (Len developed love for Rin).
Pretty much the whole thing I could understand from the novel.

Why does the Kagamines die on the end of the song
this is a followup to karakuri burst, basically there's a psychotic killer called tsubaki (rin) working under Miku (boss of some messed up organization) as some sort of servant/puppet doing her dirty work. Len is a member of a group that appears to fight this organization, and Lily is another member who fights alongside him who seems to have affections for (because her kindness reminds him of a childhood friend from an orphanage). Now the story of Len at the orphanage is that he found a girl who was similar to him (appearance wise, her name is Rin) and they got along well together, and made some sort of promise on a ring. Rin later got separated from Len and from then she was probably trained to kill and lost her ability to feel and the memories of her childhood friend. Len on the other hand was raised as the good guy, but he always remembers Rin and wants to find her. After an encounter with Tsubaki he has suspicions that she could be Rin and Lily comforts him. I'm not 100% sure about the next part but Miku assigns Tsubaki to kill Lily. And it seems that Tsubaki interrupted when Len was about to propose to Lily. He goes into a fit of depression and he's so mentally shaken that at his next encounter with Tsubaki he nearly goes crazy. When he finally catches her she taunts him into stabbing her but (for some reason) he stabs at the flower in her hair, and out comes the promise ring. Tsubaki/Rin desperately reaches for the ring, probably only instinctively knowing it is important since she's had it from childhood but can't remember what happened exactly with the ring. At this moment Len is certain Tsubaki is his long lost childhood friend, but he's conflicted over whether to save and forgive her after all that's happened. Aaannd that's how far I'm going to go c:

all this years and I still find new details everytime I came back dang at 3:40 the lyrics said "who is it that I want to protect?" and it flash to the young rin and then "who is it that I want to destroy" and it flashes to the current rin. in the end because they can't go back, len decided to kill this current, evil rin. sobs
Late but he actually decided to save her. He found out that she was being mind controlled by the ones who kidnapped her and it was from a flower that she was wearing and he destroyed that which caused Rin to remember who she was again.
正しい楽しみ方ではないとは思うけど、再生速度変えて聴くと違うイメージもできて楽しい。

Don’t know if this is already mentioned but:
I believe Tsubaki or Rin (her real name) was the first Karakuri (Mechanical) robot that are designed like a cyborg created by a criminal organisation led by Miku (idk her actual name if she has one). Rin one day escaped to an orphanage or somewhere where she met Ren who stated that they look alike and fell in love with her. They made a promise with a ring made from a plant to be together and Rin kept it. One day the criminal organization came and took Rin back, separating Rin and Ren with both getting injured between then and when they meet again. As a result of this they experimented on her and also wiped most of her memories including being with Ren, they also altered her to be loyal to the group along with changing her name to Tsubaki and killing people, therefore she felt as if she had no purpose of living like a “doll” or puppet. (referring to her lines in Karakuri burst). Many Karakuri puppets were created to kill and the caught the attention of the manji police (Ren’s group he’s in) Both didn’t recognise each other and felt like the were searching for someone but eventually met and fought each other unknowingly (hence the song Unmei Gokko)
She killed Lily(Idk if that’s her name) a fellow team member of Ren whom fell in love with and planned to propose but under Miku’s orders was killed. Heartbroken he fell into despair and eventually had a thought that Tsubaki was Rin. Eventually things got desperate as the criminal organization was rising with their Karakuri robots among other things. Both Tsubaki and Ren clashed and eventually her flower revealed the ring she cherished that fell in the fire with her crying, she felt confused on whether to kill him or save him. Tsubaki got injured and nearly died (supposedly attempted to be killed since she’s no longer useful) but survived with a crying Ren by her side.
I based this on what I interpreted with parts from the novels I found online and the songs. Could be wrong though.

椿は、リンがあることがきっかけで、好きになったという花です。 この歌ではリンが ［からくり］という人と機械が混ざったもので、リンがテロに出る時いつもたくさんの椿が現場に落ちています。
その為、レン達白狼では椿と呼ばれています。
一年後からこんにちは。ついつい(╭☞•́⍛•̀)╭☞それなと言いたくなりました笑笑田舎は本がなかなか手に入らないので本を買うために片道3時間とか1時間とか余裕でかかりますからね笑笑……もうね泣けるわ(T^T)
