I wish I was in Televison like this... I just love these children shows. So peaceful and friendly... makes little kidsd relaize there' snothing to be afraid of.
I am one of those in the US who remembers this show very well, grew up just over the border in upstate NY. I loved this show and just hearing the music makes me tear up, I don't know why. Maybe it's the memory, as a child of watching this and being so upset when it was over, I would sometimes cry. I am surprised most of the videos are dated 1983....I had no idea it was on that long because it was the early 60's when I watched it.
Same here - it played on public TV here in Utah in the early 60s, too, along with a wonderful show called Roundabout, though I've never found a trace of that one.
Loved this show and watched everyday as a kid, at Noon sharp when i would come for lunch.. I have great memories of my late mother preparing my lunch and the smell of scrambled eggs with ham coming from the kitchen..Thanks a million for posting an episode of this great show..
dude, even the static takes me back...this is how CBC looked to me my whole childhood...never clear but always worth the snow...and that snow means one thing....you watched that show for free.
Back then they didn't have to go through bureaucracy, they had to fill a spot. It goes to show how the vision of an individual can affect a generation. One guy realized that there was a time of day when most children needed a nap. I always stayed awake until the drawbridge closed, but I usually fell asleep about a minute later. It must have been a blessing to the nice people that took care of me at the time.
@landrykkb I don't know about that...I lived near the Canadian border and watched this show as a kid, and I'm in the US! This and Mr. Dressup were some of the finest kids' shows from Canada! :)
I Like This Show So Mush, I Want To A Remake With Someone Else As Friendly, And The Other As Rusty And Jerome. Still A Fun Show. Too Bad TV Isn't As Wholesome And Simple.

this was one of my favorites. as a litle three year old, I loved the giant because he reminded me of my poppa.

This brings back memories of being bored out of my skull as a kid.

You know you're Canadian when...
Where is the end of this? It isn't often that Friendly plays the goodbye music while Jerome is wearing something on his ears.
I always wondered if this show might have been an influence on, of all things, MST3K. Jerome reminds me of Crow.
look up waaay up
Ya know... that almost sound slike "Friendly" talking
Hope your son (now 14) still wants to do this, the basic lo-tech approach still has more appeal than you'd think.
Those are satellite sparklies or in-line CATV interference.
What happened to the rest of this episode?
Dog ate it
look up waay up you know what I mean
...They don't make Nice shows like this ANY more.....Just more crap and Violence...!

look up waaay up you what know I say
