There’s too many to list 😅; but I’d honestly like to see spotlights that can be aimed added. Maybe a switch so you can turn multiple electrical items on/off easier.
@@Rocksidion because if we think of a survival scenario, finding a solar panel in a bunker is much more likely than the character building induction coils and a magnet water wheel.
Appreciate you covering this game. I'm currently trying not to burn myself out playing it before it's finished. I'm in love with the building mechanics, though I do find them rather slow and clunky, like swapping inventory items. The inventory seems neat as it stands, it just feels tedious to me when I am swapping between multiple different items. Maybe they give us multiple hot bars we can swap between (like Satisfactory) just to speed this up a bit, but I dunno. Beyond that I'd like to see an actual reason to have a base be implemented. From my experience it's perfectly viable, maybe even optimal, to just run from cave to cave collecting what you need to progress through the story. Which I do feel like could be a major issue given how much development time is being spent on the building.
Regarding inventory swapping, the hotkeys work now. In your inventory, hover over desired item and just press whatever number 1-0 and it'll assign it. I use this to bind my essentials to my hotkeys.
I can build a light to illuminate my solar panel but as soon as I try to run cable to my house, I get no joy. Been trying to move the wires around and can't get it to work. So I have a solar panel I can see at night but that's about it!
So.. As soon as I clicked on the video.. YT popped an ad up for me to watch first... Can you believe it was an ad for SOLAR PANELS!?!?.. lol.. (now.. back to the video..lol) CHEERS! Oh.. also.. I've seen multiple videos on this but I was wondering why hasn't anyone incorporated the lights and solar panels into their bases... everyone is just showing the basic install on a makeshift outdoor lento.. Does it not work on the houses? or is it because you must take apart the structure first? Thanks
🤣🤣🤣 they're always listening! I think for a guide it's just easier to share the information with specific examples, but you can absolutely do this in your bases!
There is one thing, that I hate so so much. The whole wire setup only works with full lenght logs, so it is impossible to set this up, you build a roof with half logs
The yellow lines running all over a build looks a bit like *ss. The lines should be black unless the player is holding a wire, then it should be yellow. So you can still see to place them but after placed they blend in much better as black wires. fallout did this and it worked well.
I am sure this will get fleshed out a little bit... Endnight seems to be in the habbit of half-assing things though and then moving on. I fully expect the full release to still have a ton of issues (like The Forest did) and them to move on to "Daughters of the Forest"/s leaving SOTF unfinished. I expect it, but I hope I am wrong.
They are just implementing the mechanics so they can expand on them later thats all, at the current moment they need to be able to continue releasing regular updates otherwise the game will lose steam and less people will be attracted to it, Personally I dont get at all what you mean with The Forest being unfinished, it had bugs yes but none of them broke my game or made me frustrated and it also had a absolute ton of content, If you have been following endnight and their development you would also know that they didnt just rush the forest and then move on to SOTF they worked 8 Years on The forest before it got to the point it is at. I have a lot of faith in Endnight to be able to make SOTF a great game, it already is a good game .
@@joelmalligan1540 I agree it's a great game already, and already way better than the forest. I have stopped playing it for now (I will burn out on it if I don't) and waiting for the 'full release', very excited for it. @Pete Agree with everything you said although on terms lf improvememt i jusy which they made it scarier., I am also taking it slow to avoid getting burnt out, play a couple hours each new update.
soo i know this is all new and such. but i been trying to put solar panels on the Triangle roof build but somehow that one doesnt seem like it can connect compared to all the other ramps, dunno if its cause its angle is just more steep than the 4 ramp angles or im just doing something wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (by triangle roof i mean the one where you put a full log and stack a 3 quarter log, half log and quarter log on top)
@@TotalXclipse thats whats wierd for me. i litterly wired all 9 full logs and put 2 solarpanels on the triangle roof. Even tried putting the Lightbulb on the cross beam at the top and the 4 logs making a square in the bottom. Dunno if its the angle of the slopped logs there is just to steep or the triangle wall, you make, there is in the way. Hope it gets fixed somehow since i use the 1 square triangle roofs for some of my bridges xD
I may have released this 12 hours before I had intended to 😅 wooops!
Let me know what electrical items you're most excited for in Sons of The Forest!
Please its not very clear with wiring I can nake it out to connect

Just saying with the fast moving rivers, the power update lends it self to a cool WATER WHEEL. I feel like that it would fit quite well in this game.
Yeah, wtf. Why didn't they add hydro power first??

I want to see that water wheel acting as a defensive wheel too. Cannibals and mutants getting mangled by a water wheel would never get old 😂
Would love to see a battery powered auger implemented. Would be clutch for drilling through the ice to get water in the winter

They have a long way to go. There's just not enough in this game. I'll come back to it next year

The panels work fine on a perfectly horizontal surface. My base roof is flat, and the panels work fine.
Same
I just place all the panels I find, as currently no way to store them or bulbs other than placing.
Well placing them till I run out of roof anyway.

@@TotalXclipse absolutely, but I hope they will bring more options
The Panel wires are yellow, the connecting wire is orange, or at least copper.
I’ll wait till the solars charge other stuff too. Because just for lights it’s not worth it. Torches are quicker and look better
can we electrify floors?

well its only on pc use a mod?
Can’t pick mine back up. Ugh
Why can't i Put a Solar Panel on my ramp? I built It the Same way in the Video
my solar panels are always angled and not laying flat on the roof??
The reason for a working panel at night is simple. It's a combo panel. Its solar and lunarpanel. 🤣
The use of hanging wires is not described.
I want to have power during the night, solar panels don’t work at night anymore
Yeah just add a go kart battery to the solar panel
I am modding and u can make a lag mashin /flsh room
Tried this and I still can't get them to work
So what you need for solar power. A panel, flat surface, wire and bulbs. What you don't need for solar power. Sunlight.

Or maybe the solar panel has a better storage that it can store some power to save for at night.
I love you ❤
I do hope they make the power like in rust. If they can have the building aspect closer to the rust that would be great.
I think the hardest one has been getting the power into a pre-existing building for internal lighting
The panels and bulbs spawn in any crate.
Light switches could be awesome
I want a reloading bench for the ammunition

You dont even need a power inverter.
