I have the ANENG version of this. I'm not new to electrics, but I'm a beginner in electronics. This thing is brilliant for someone like me. It truly helps me understand circuits, what pins/traces carry signal, data. Easily accurate enough for my hobby of repairing vintage hifi gear. Worth twice what it costs imo.
The scope comes shipped with the bandwidth setting (shown under the menu setting “Run Mode”) set to “Normal Mode”, which limits the bandwidth to a maximum of 30MHz. This is done to lower power consumption. To measure signals up to the 50MHz maximum, you need to change this setting to “High-Speed Mode”, although it states the power consumption will increase.
I have one, and its a great device. It is however not easy to connect a BNC connector. The connections are completely boxed in as you can see in 7:18. They could improve this by getting the connectors into "free space".
Just to let you know. Upto V1.3.2 the oscilloscope measurement for RMS was actually double what it should be. I notified Zotek of this bug, and it is now fixed on V1.3.8.
Can you also tell them to change the analog scale from 0-25 to a meaningful scale or max range values for every mode. Having a 0-25 analog scale range that has no relation to the actual digital blues shown by the multimeter makes no sense. Please get this rectified as well
Hi, I just downloaded the latest 1.3.8 version from the website, thank you for letting me know. The latest version I had came directly from Zoyi by e-mail. I leave os a sticky comment on the top the link for the firmware if someone wants to upgrade also. Thanks for sharing and watching!
Thanks for the in-depth review. Great work as always. I noticed when you were going through the different ranges in multimeter mode, the numbers on the bar graph do not change at all. So no matter what ranges you were using, the bar graph always shows 0 to 25, even when you made measurements higher than that. Do you know if this was fixed after you did the firmware update?
Hi! How you're doiing :) I don't even comment those gauges in this devices, they're as stupid as we can get. The range changes for no special reason, then most of the times the values are not in sync with the read values.... I put online today the video for the 2C53P also uses this and is more common in other brands also, I only have a question... WHY! Thanks for your comment and always be here! 💪
I bought one, and it actually is pretty decent. Only thing they could improve is ability to configure yourself the signal offset in the graph. It each time starts below (channel 2) or above (channel 1) the time axis.
Zoyi should have widened the stand at the bottom to make it more stable. I attached a 3.25" (80mm) wide section of plastic at the bottom. I had to have Windows repair the FIRMWARE folder to enable me to update the 702 I have.
Hi! I totally in tune with your comment... it could be better, the device itself deserves that, it's a very nice scopmeter. Thanks for sharing and watching!
Hi, they are pretty similiar, but if you need more 10Mhz you have to go with ZT703S, in terms of the interface I like more the 2C23T. Both are accurate and do fairly well their jobs. Thanks for watching.
Waoo excelente review, very completely, i have a a question about this multimeter, because i buyed a little ago and i want to take great care of him, I could measure 220 vac rms with it??? And And could I also measure after a bridge rectifier filtered with a capacitor??
Hi, if I understood your question correctly, sure you can. See the video at this point th-cam.com/video/T446pFtMw8g/w-d-xo.html and you have there your answer. Thanks for watching.
@@TechCornerTV Ok, Ok, I think I forgot to say that I could measure 220VAC rms but in the oscilloscope function to see the signal and the wave, and could I also measure after a rectifier bridge, the already filtered signal?, Beforehand thank you very much
On my 703S I can't get my timesteps to go smaller than 100 micro seconds (100u), trying to make it smaller gives me a message 'Exceeding the limit'. Anyone know what that could be?
HI, activate the hi definition mode, see it on the operation part of the video and this weird, but on signal generator, use the square wave (on both modes). Thanks for watching.
Hi, that's so cool to know. I did download after the video as made the 1.3.8, but didn't have the time yet to install it. Thanks for sharing and watching.
It has problems with measurements on second channel (while triggering on the first). It was hard to switch to triggering on the second channel, but I don't know if it's fixed. It has no relative measurements in the multimeter mode. It's 140MHz per channel, and this does not change regardless of enabled or disabled channels.
Hi, it has some issues, that's true. I made at least 2 firmware upgrade while recording this video and I believe that version 1.3.8 is already there for download, left the download link on a sticky comment on this video, but the base is there and it is very good, but it is with some bugs that are being corrected. Thanks for watching and sharing your input.
Hi, I have the 702S and the 703S. Tell me why they have those 'rare jumps' in the timebase. Normal they are 1-2-5 .. at the Zoyi's they have -- 1.25 , 2.5 , 25 , 250 at some settings. Very weird if you normaly look at the wave and read it (with the 1-2-5 scale in your mind) (yes, old analog scope user) :) .. and on the 703S: whats the use for the Red marker (on Top in the middle)?
Hi, wish I can explain some of the decision in terms of UI/UX design the manufacturers some time make. Not sure what is the red arrow function there also. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The latest firmware for this device can be found here: zotektools.com/firmware-update-703/
Latest is v1.42

hello, which cheap oscilloscope with multimeter do you recommend? second question: which is better zoyi 703s or Zeeweii DSO3D12 ?

I wonder if the oscilloscope can show the sinusoidal voltage coming from the ordinary household receptacle outlet.

Would it be safe to use it on SMpsu primary circuit? Fraser
