Brilliant ideas there, Vikkie👍 I try to be organised, but my head starts to hurt and things end up getting lumped together. I'm so chaotic! Just as the video finishes...BAM...you hit us with a new 'toy' and then it's all over! 😉🙂 I'm guessing we'll be introduced to Bandy McBandsaw another day?🙂👍🙂
And to be honest... I'm not naturally a tidy or organised person. But there's something enjoyable about turning offcuts into organised spaces and tinkering in here in general lol
This has gotta be my new favorite channel ! I too have a workshop with incomplete walls with studs exposed and I’ve been looking all over for ideas to maximize floor/wall space and storage ideas. I also love the fact that you try to use what you already have available from previous projects, scrap wood, disassembled furniture parts etc.. it’s so difficult for me to throw anything away so I really appreciate you sharing these ideas 💡 that were made with recycled materials. My next big project is finding storage for over 20 paint buckets and tons of spray cans . Looking forward to watching more of your videos, cheers from Austin, Tx. USA
Thanks! No need to dream! Just use some offcuts and free stuff, one task at a time. I found it overwhelming at first with the mess it was in this time last year 😆
Thanks! The more I've been working in there, the more I've been realising things could be better. I think sorting my mitre saw is one of the next jobs. I love the stand mine's on, but I could do with more storage under there.

many thanks for another excellent video with great ideas i will no doubt pinch. will be very interested to see what decisions you make re insulation as this is something will likely do with my shed in six months or so when the pressure treated wood has dried well. The four inch timber shed base has 50mm polystyrene in it as this decision needed to be made before the build but not sure what i will do with walls and roof (34mm frame so
A really good thing about having so many tool storage options attatched to the walls of your shed is, that if you have a Tornado in your area, your shed won't be making that trip to Oz !! :-)
I've noticed I need to be really firm towards the last bit of label in the dispenser, but for just over a tenner, I felt I got a bargain compared to the expensive ones on page one of amazon around £30 each! 😳
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK used to notice the same with them too. Had mine as a kid many years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if my parents still had it. Cant go wrong at the price really. Is worth putting a bit more effort if saving a few quid. 👍My current printer would have been around the £30 area plus the cost of 6 batteries to run it then the cost of the tape too.
There's always next time! I was in two minds too as my Dad has a spare one. But it's been on my list for way too long and was worried I wouldn't get to know a 2nd hand one without the instructions to set it up etc. I thought about it for days, wasting time... I'm surprised it didn't sell out sooner.
Getting organized is the hardest thing to do. The shop is in a constant state of change as new tools and things come in and old stuff goes out. The biggest help I found was that anything that occupies floor space MUST be on wheels. That way you can move things around and out of your way as you need to. Easier to keep clean that way to. And in small shops it is even more important to be organized and utilize every square inch of space you have. And its much safer to. Remember,, if you cant find it ,,you cant use it.
It was really hard when I started... an overwhelming mess, but once I got started trying to improve one thing at a time, I found better systems. And totally agree about castor wheels!! Want to add a cabinet with wheels under my mitre saw as it's hard to move and I've lost a fair bit of potential storage.
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK Indeed . And size the cabinets so that the tool is at comfortable height for you to use. Peopel tend to not use something if it is not at a comfortable working height for them.
Lol... one of them really is a nail gun 😆😆 But I could do with downsizing to just one or 2 battery systems. They've all been scattered around, so didn't realise I had so many until I put them together 😅
One last thought from me and I'll leave, lol. Since most of us work alone in our shops, having a cell phone that is fully charged and turned on should be in easy reach in case of emergency.
I tell my wife creative people are naturally untidy...the hobbies room , garage, allotment shed will all agree ... mmmm now I see a new years resolution threatening..
Vikkie can I come and play in your shed one day please 🙂 my mum says it's ok and I'm 35 now so I can stay out 'til like 8pm these days 😀 I will get her to put an extra ham sandwich and Um Bongo in my packed lunch for you we will have the best day ever 🙂
@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK That sounds scary 😯 but I can make us a WICKED base out of the boxes with like a front door a back door and telescopes made out of Um Bongo straws so we can see the baddies coming 🔭🙂😂😂
Love the idea's in this video Vikkie but i have a bone to pick, please stop showing us your new Tool's because it's making me a poor man. Iv'e bought a laser measure and a pair of those light up door handles in the past few weeks and it's all your fault ; )

The upcycled drill rack alone is worth the view.
Yay! You got the bandsaw! I'm gonna have to work up the energy to be this organized. Great job.
Haha.. just work on one small job at a time ☺️☺️
Genius ideas! I've been organizing my shed for weeks now a little at a time and I'll be using some of these ideas this weekend!!! Thank you!

Oh I love a good workshop organisation video, so therapeutic - thanks for sharing, some great ideas there.

Used to have one of the old type dymo labellers. They needed a strong grip to get the labels to print.

@@TheCarpentersDaughterUK The magnetic tool holders are first on my list :)
So simple, effective and was surprised how cheap they were 😆

Nice to do it on a budget, too - some of these garage/shed storage videos assume you have money to burn!
Agree! I'd never get rid of my offcuts and junk if I kept buying stuff all the time!!
Good to see these ideas, especially I like the magnet strips.
Now, where are tou going to mount the new Bandsaw? x
Hmmm.. not sure yet 😬 was going to put it next to the drills, but I think I'll be making a stand as I've got a drill press to fit in now too 😆
I moved from England to Canada in 2005. Unfortunately we have to place insulation in between the wall studs for it to be useable year round!!
That probably makes sense here too, really. In the winter, I bring a plug in radiator so I can work in there.
Nice video! Really great use of the space. May I ask? How big is your workshop?
Next week video. How to label everything, i mean everything in the house.....with my new Dymo
😆 I kept my baking cupboard labelling out of this 🤣
