I predict that someday the world will catch up to Erica Rhodes. She is very respectful of her audience, and never over-explains her thoughts. One of a kind, like all great comic minds.
If only this were not fiction. I gave up, a long time ago, trying to find a women who was so honest about her insecurities yet so willing to embrace them with such clarity. Erica: This is brilliant work. I hope it is the genesis of a larger piece you can develop. I think you are great. And, Nick: Major kudos to you for being such a good sport as the foil. Rehearsals must have been excruciating.
This is a typical women conversation, all over the place and pointless. So brilliantly acted, hope this becomes educational video shown to all boys in preparation of their future.
Can relate with your distaste in "it is what it is" defeatist line and how suicide is judged harshly and looked down upon in our society. Worst of all, some even branded it a selfish and cowardly act. Selfish? You know what's selfish? It's demanding someone to put up with their suffering just so you don't have to feel any. Suicide is portrayed like this dark taboo thing when it's not necessarily bad. It's just another choice. Some people wanna play the game and others don't. If you care, you do everything in your power to help that person. But one thing for sure that doesn't is telling them they are loved before completely vanishing the next hours. Or telling them to think about how devasted their family and loved ones would be - tactlessly presuming they even have any. Whether it's due to immense pain or disinterest, they have reasons. The least you could do is listen and try to understand. Be a friend, let them feel heard, STAY. And then maybe, hopefully, they'll realise that life isn't all too bad. That a pair of attentive ears can make it all the better. Make a difference. One more thing I'd like to add. How did it become that people feel so entitled to think they automatically deserve a life (a good life) for just existing? They don't. None of us worked for this. It just happened. We were born here without our consent nor effort. If there's anything we're entitled to, it's not the right to live, it's the right to take our own lives because we sure as heck didn't sign up for any of this. Just putting out there for whoever reads it.
As someone who has been in dark places, has know people in the same, it is appalling for you to come here essentially encouraging others to consider taking there own life. You talk about selfishness, yet here you are pushing your own depression onto others. Calling others to join you. You think you are being deep with your outlook on life, with ideas of being born into this world without consent and the seemingly pointlessness of it all. Yet all of nature struggles to survive, it has been so since the first lifeforms came into being. The point of life is life itself. There is nothing to be ashamed of in feeling hopeless. It is not weakness. But to drag others into your pit is both thoughtless and heartless.
@@Raybets I did not "misread". You are saying it is ok to chose suicide: " it's not necessarily bad. It's just another choice." "You know what's selfish? It's demanding someone to put up with their suffering just so you don't have to feel any." The same could be said of your own message. It is selfish to put others through suffering just so you don't have to feel any. Perhaps I am being rude. But this is something close to me, and I don not take kindly to people telling others that it is fine if they take their own life.
@@owlobsidian6965 You do misread. Maybe fix your negative outlook and you'll see. I said "compassion is when people do everything in their power to help and be there instead of simply saying don't off yourself" Dude. Any action *is* a choice. How is exposing a toxic culture that shames and blames suicide- making me selfish? You don't make sense.
shows the banality of life...Why? What are we doing? Who is the moth? Am I the moth? Maybe I am the burning light bulb with my clawing desperation for validation??
I feel that way about Tool's new album. Not the whole speech, I feel that way about life, not the album. It's just the background music. What have you been up to? I feel like you're never around which is strange since this is just about the first I've heard of you. I don't get out much, meaning for most years I've just used the internet for forums and games, mostly flight sims but it leads back into the Tool album thing. I did get perma banned from Twitter within a week of signing up, that was a high point. Don't tell the internet you don't think much of Democrats, apparently, it's somehow racist hate speech so they're a race now. So most of your uploads are years old so you were like a comedienne years ago (is comedienne still okay or racist hate speech now? hard to keep up with the youngins), so I guess you're sitting on a porch in Alabama knitting. I'm Australian so basically all Americans live in Alabama and work in California except politicians who grew up in NYC as mob bosses, then sponsored an autistic child and moved to DC. I figured you're pretty cute you know so we could eat cookie dough together and cry about getting fat but I feel like I may have missed my chance, it's such a small window finding relationships on the internet, Gal Gadot: taken, Kristin Bell: well nobody can compete with Dax Shepard, you can't even get weird and go for Christina Ricci, I think she's doing porn now. American women are a really competitive industry, I don't know if anybody else has noticed. Anyway I just wanted you to know, I really like your hair. Guess I'll write it in a letter and send it to myself. It's so lonely on the internet.
I miss women and the way men tune everything out but how long it's going to take to get your clothes off. Try it. Talk about bleeding out a pig and removing entrails and burning off the hair and all the steps from slaughter to the eventual meal or anything of that nature.
The guy in this vid did an amaaaazing job of pretending to pretend to be interested... Really, top notch actor....
Anything for pussy
You are absolutely amazing, Erica Rhodes!

Wow. I basically just discovered this brilliant actor - today. Fantastic.
I continued to be like the woman until finally met someone who was appreciative of talking all that existential stuff ❤
Erica is neurotically funny. Love Her!
...I listen to the same song on repeat 500 times. I guess I should start a pest control company now?..
Brilliant work, miss!
Fantastic!
This might be the best movie Jim Jarmusch never made: "Coffee and Not Cigarettes"
hilarious - great performances
Oh I throughly enjoyed this !
Nice work! Thank you.👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Couldn't dream of being able to hold eye contact with someone that long. Or sitting still that long.

That's not their nature, so it's an unworthy pursuit
Typical modern incel.
I love this chick……so funny
Fantastic.
Really good and Awesome 😎 Video.
Enjoyed it.
This guy is thinking that this woman is really nuts, but I can't just get up and leave. Oh mamma, am I in trouble or what?
I love this!! My girlfriend, not so much. I wonder why.
Oh, that was good!!!!
Brilliant
Your my favorite:)
Like a moth driven to the flames
You're the best, Erica
Moths are suicidal they fly into FIRE.
Is this improvisation? Seems like a great example of Joyce's streams of consciousness.
I could listen to her deconstruct language all day.
How did he not laugh when he said "same? "

So I want to say something so insightful and so funny about this that Erica falls in love with me.
This may take some time....
🤣🤣🤣
Tension till you pension
Hi again Erica!
This is a terrific performance & the way you wrote a script for the video. Great job! :D
