Marlboro Vs Bennett's fish and chips

- I have made several videos on my travels around Weymouth with a stop at Bennet's fish and chips as it is our preferred choice.
I also mention in these videos that The Marlboro fish and chips is also a popular choice in Weymouth so I thought we'd do a comparison today.
We only buy 1 portion between 2 of us for lunch, and the Bennett's one was from 2 weeks previously and shown in my cruise passengers tour video.
The Marlboro fish bites and a regular portion of chips were £8.10.
Not a bad size portion, I had them wrapped in the shop
and I asked for lots of salt and vinegar. They were piled up in quite a small container so I asked if they could tip them out a bit to get the salt and vinegar on the lower chips, they said they couldn't as they would go everywhere but offered me a sachet of salt, unfortunately I declined.
We walked around the corner to find a bench by the harbour to enjoy our lunch.
Sadly they were a disappointment, the fish bites were soggy and didn't have much flavour.
The chips were slightly underdone, no colour to them and only the very top layer was seasoned.
There were no crispy bits at all.
The Bennett's portion of fish bites and small chips Was £9.10, it looks smaller because it's in a bigger box, it was seasoned all the way through, both the fish bites and the chips were cooked perfectly with a crispy crunch without being too hard or over done.
I won't be going back to The Marlboro in a hurry and look forward to my next visit to Bennett's.

No contest. I’m a Weymouth boy and I’ve used the Marlboro since it opened. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.😉
Marlboro was very disappointing on this occasion. Soggy bland fish, undercooked chips and the container was too small to season them all.
@@exploringweymouthandbeyond4953 crikey, things must have changed. I have honestly never had anything remotely approaching sub-par from there in 50 years! Did you talk to the guys at all?
