also ps: how do you think of projects for your portfolio? I always get stuck in such an overthinking loop trying to find something I won't lose motivation on :( especially since an identity design project ends up taking a few months at least.
Thank you love! also when it comes to projects and motivation it just depends. there are some projects I don't like doing, but I have to force myself to keep going. its easier to push myself when there's deadlines that will effect my grades while I'm in school. But I am working on my portfolio this summer, and I have learned making a schedule for yourself is very helpful if you make yourself stick to deadlines. having baby step milestones to reach will make things feel less overwhelming when its a very time consuming project. I like to separate all of my projects into different sections to help myself not get overwhelmed by the workload. When it comes to project ideas, I like to just come up with an illustration idea that I think could be cool if I turn it into an animation. I like to brainstorm a bunch of different versions of one idea to help my brain wrap around the concept better. I feel like just doodling a bunch until the idea is structured is the best way to enter a project so that you won't get too overwhelmed. finding ways to pull in what you love about creating into your projects will always make them more enjoyable. I know that was a lot lol but I hope it was helpful
@@lavenderprincess13 thank you! I recently started keeping a journal for doodling but now that you mention it, i feel like maybe i dont know exactly what part of the creative process keeps me engaged. So def going to work on figuring that out :D
good luck! I hope you find a groove that works for u
