I"m originally from Laredo, and my parents house is very close to your starting point. Growing up there we used to cross back and forth so often as we have a lot of family on both sides of the border. But lately is dangerous in Nuevo Laredo, our relatives tells not to go anymore as we are consider strangers in the neighbor hoods. Sad that it is like that now!

I was just riding through and getting the motorcycle registered. During that short time, I did meet some friendly and helpful people. So, my experience has been positive and I felt safe. I just crossed the border earlier tonight from Texas to nv Laredo and back to Texas and I gotta tell you guys. It's scary on the Mexican border side coming into us and i almost missed the Sevond traffic. Light that you do the you turn on that's cause I dont speak or read Spanish. To all you people, dont go in the evening or at night, it's pretty intense and very dangerous. I'm back home now drove 7 hours and I'm relieved.
Glad you made it back ok. I generally avoid riding at night. It’s hard enough not knowing the area, darkness does make any foreign city harder to navigate.
Warning ****Alert **** March 7th Saturday, 6.30am. Local Cartel del Noreste waiting outside mexico customs to charge 500 or 1,000 dls fee pay them. They use cars no plates , no guns. No mexican authorities around, is a quick extortion to get money. I was lucky and I get away by using defense driving i try to get back to USA but they block me and i drive in a wrong way just to get to Mexico immigration . Around 7am the state police showed up and I could drive away from nuevo laredo by groups.. The police just said do not cross before 8AM... Local cartel in absolutely control in the city on nights hours...
Next time buy your insurance from Sanborn’s (a policy in US dollars) located just before you cross on IH 35 You get up to date info on Claims , US adjusters etc. fix your car at home! Enjoyed your video
There aren't any real checks when crossing into Mexico by land from the US, and when crossing back into the states it's not so difficult as long as you have a local border crossing card or local Texas Id, having been in guangdong I find it a lot more tedious to cross just from the Chinese mainland into Hong Kong or macau, getting passport stamped , filling out departure and arrival cards etc , when you exit the US into Mexico by land there's none of that crap, I was surprised Hong Kong and Macau are supposed to be the same country together with china , they treat them like completely separate entities
You do not need a passport to cross into Nuevo Laredo, but if you travel more into Mexico like Monterrey, Ciudad de Mexico, or any other city that is not a border city, then you do need a passport and a permit to travel into Mexico.
No they didn't! I was expecting to be stopped at a booth and provide it for inspection, however that's not the way it works at this and many other international borders. I was supposed to go in their office to show my passport and papers to the Immigration and Custom officers. What this video doesn't show is that I had to go back and meet officials to get my passport stamped and get a Temporary Vehicle Import Permit for the motorcycle at the Banjercito.
Hello Chris. Thanks for watching. I didn't spend too long in Nuevo Laredo, so nothing happened other than getting a little lost and then spending about an hour to register the motorcycle. Despite its reputation, I've been told Nuevo Laredo is probably one of the safer land crossings into Mexico.

No you don’t, once your inside Mexico certain casetas are what they are called do charge for you to travel on the roadway supposedly it’s money used to maintain and improve roadways/highways

I'm from northern Mexico , It's hard to understand how so many people actually think Mexico is worse off now than say , the 80s , when the country's economy was dependent on fossil fuels and anual inflation was almost at 200% when the prices of oil collapsed, the economy was run by the state including banks and airlines , only rich people were able to afford air travel , there were very few intercity expressways , honestly if it weren't for the drug violence it'd be a quite pleasant place to live and even then it's not as bad as people outside think it is .

Not intentionally, but yes. I was expecting to go through a border toll, but it didn't happen. I did go later to get the passport stamped.

Para cruzar a Nuevo Laredo no se necesita pasaporte. El dinero que el señor le dio a la señorita es la cuota para usar el puente internacional. Ahora, si uno viaja al interior de la republica (Monterrey, CDMX, etc) si necesitas pasaporte. FYI.

Nuevo laredo use to be nice and fun back in the 90's . Now it's bad. Drug cartels fucked up the city .

I'm from northern Mexico , It's hard to understand how so many people actually think Mexico is worse off now than say , the 80s , when the country's economy was dependent on fossil fuels and anual inflation was almost at 200% when the prices of oil collapsed, the economy was run by the state including banks and airlines , only rich people were able to afford air travel , there were very few intercity expressways , honestly if it weren't for the drug violence it'd be a quite pleasant place to live and even then it's not as bad as people outside think it is .
LOL.. sorry, I know this is old but she was only talking about the weather, and believe me she sees A LOT of people in a day to notice their money. Thousands of people go through that bridge every single day. Come on, lets not think every single person in Mexico is part of a gang 🙄
