- NASA and its international partners will explore the scientific mysteries of deep space with Gateway, humanity’s first space station to orbit the Moon. Witness Gateway in stunning detail with this video that brings the future of lunar exploration to life.

I hope I live to see it in service!!!
Awesome visual!
Needs seriously more hand holds for spacewalks!!!
what an utterly useless camera path. you can't see anything properly.
It looks like Gateway is not going to be any different than ISS. I'd have expected no hatches between modules. Just connect the full diameter of the module. Better yet, make the modules square for better use of interior volume. Docking hatches are ok as they are but should be placed symmetrically on specific modules with 4 ports on a single docking module. Truss structure is limited to power distribution only. Radiators where required. Windows as desired. Canadarm3 can be on a rail as opposed to inchworm action down the length of Gateway. Square modules better suited for space pods (if ever developed) instead of EVA suits for exterior maintenance and experiments. imo🙂
I am so excited that I'm gonna get to see a lunar space station in my lifetime. That feels straight out of a sci fi novel!
A shame the only thing it’s better at than the ISS is irradiating people
Just imagine how absurd it'll look with Starship version whatever docked to it.😂
Are the 3D models for Artemis space crafts open source and downloadable for everyone to make this kind of animations?
I've checked and I don't believe these models are openly available on NASA's website. I can guess that one big reason for this is that these modules and components are probably still being finalized. Also, these components are being designed and manufactured by different companies and each company would want their finalized design represented in some publicly available 3D model. What I'm trying to say is, we might not see a public 3D model until these modules are in production or are already out in space. If you look at most of the available models on NASA's website, they are models of things that already exist and are in use (with a few exceptions).
I think it should show the Starship HLS vehicle instead of the old placeholder one. Apart from that, animation is very great, really hope the Gateway project starts in-space construction and operations soon!
I agree Starship should have been added as it'll dock alongside Orion, but it's only a detail I guess whereas the body of the station was to be highlighted here
Flat earthers will say this is an animation
Excellent work gentlemen.
Futuristic...for now!
Somebody watching??🌻🌻🌻🌻
A gorgeous animation for a gorgeous project, I'm very eager to see Gateway beginning its operations
Too much bureaucracy to let a good thing happen.
Go Nasa,Go Space x
Yo NASA, mind updating the station model?
How long will it take to orbit the moon
It's beautiful! 😍
Oh
Will work
A thrill, function combined with beauty, a work of art.
Inspiring and Motivating. Near yet So Far. All support.
Can we get a new flyby that's not centered on the thermal wrapping of Canadarm3?
Dear God, I hope this never gets built.
We should be focusing on lunar SURFACE missions, lunar SURFACE habitats, lunar SURFACE infrastructure. There is absolutely NO POINT to having a lunar space station. And a lunar space station in NRHO is the worst of all possible worlds. NRHO is worse than useless, and the real reason NASA selected this crazy, elongated, high lunar orbit is because it was the only destination that the pathetically underpowered Orion spacecraft could actually REACH, and NOT because this orbit offered any actual advantages. Everything we hear in the media about why NRHO is so great is pure marketing BS gaslighting. Gateway in NRHO is the worst white elephant/albatross/dead end/money furnace anyone could have dreamed up.
Let's go to the MOON, not AROUND the moon.
THANK YOU for telling the truth about this project. I feel I am the only one who sees how useless and unnecessary the Lunar Gateway is. In my opinion the Lunar Gateway is the most useless project in the history of NASA and space exploration in general. Even Von Braun would have cringed seeing this project and how it does nothing to get back to the Moon. All it does is forces NASA to spend money to maintain and Resupply something they do not even need. As you said, a Lunar Surface Habitat would be a much better place to Resupply landers and for astronauts to stay. If I was an astronaut, I would never in my life live on a tiny spacecraft that orbits in a NRHO in which the astronauts are only within 1000 miles of the Lunar surface every six days. I cannot believe how stupid NASA’s leadership and upper management has become.
@@eternalfarewell2646 Artemis exists only as an excuse to continue funding SLS and Orion. SLS/Orion cannot get any closer to the Moon than NRHO, which is a 6.5 day distant lunar orbit. Therefore, Orion must meet the HLS lander in NRHO. Making a virtue of necessity, NASA dreamed up Gateway, even though Orion and HLS can dock even if no Gateway is present. NASA then made Gateway a international project with modules for many countries, to make it harder for congress to back out of Artemis. SLS, Orion, and Gateway are all worthless and could be replaced by Starship derivatives for a less than 10% development cost and less than 2% per-mission cost.
Keep Boeing out of this project.
We had space stations in 1973 and 1998. Can we do something new?
way way to close thumbs down
I love Artemis space program ❤❤❤
as long as its not BOEING it might work?

Seriously misleading, because it is shown with an HLS that has not been current for at least 3 years (i.e., the old NASA reference design) and that is not funded and will never be built or flown. It should be shown either with no HLS (still misleading) or with Starship HLS (from Artemis III or Artemis IV) or even with Blue Origin's HLS (from Artemis V). Giventhe configuration shown, this is probably supposed to be Artemis VI or later, which should be either Starship HLS or Blue Origin's HLS. Both of these are already under development under NASA contracts.
Frankly the rest of Gateway should just be two Starships taped together lol, would be way quicker, cheaper, and bigger
@@MemeMan_MEMESQUAD Indeed. I'm convinced that we never see a render of Starship HLS docked to Gateway because it would show how tiny Gateway is. Total habitable volume of a single Starship HLS is many times larger than the total habitable volume of gateway even with all its modules plus Orion. To replace Gatway, you need a single slightly-modified Starship HLS (needs more docking ports).
@@danclemmensen4474 it'll be very funny to see where this goes. The juxtaposition will make it very real for people, I imagine
Aren’t they planning to use several designs of HLS to make all the companies happy? Or is it *that* old
@@oberonpanopticon yeah they were sued into accepting other designs but I suspect it will be worse than the current Dragon/Starliner situation
By the time it get done there will be cheap little red flags all over the place
