thanks for the content.. great as always! what's your opinion on fins losing their flex pattern over time? could you buy an older used fin set and still get the same performance or is it best to buy new? and could you send a link for the true ames AM fins? nice one!
Fins do gain more flex over time (which in some cases can work in your favor). I really like a flexy am2 fin so I take mine and sand them down a bit when they’re brand new. That being said I think new fins and used are just about the same so long as there are no major dings or cracks in them! Here’s the link to the true Ames set I really like. Cheers mate www.trueames.com/collections/tri-fins-thruster/products/channel-islands-futures-fins-compatible
I have those same Mayhem fins, I like em. Do you not like the T.Patterson fins? You have quite a few of his boards that's why. I'm thinking about trying the Tru Ames hexcore Timmy fins to see if they're any good.
The Timmy hex core set are my backup plan after the am2 fins. I ride them in all my step ups because they’re a little smaller and more upright which makes those big boards easier to turn
Is the am2 your fav starting point even in fishy+fat+stubby grovelers (like a pyzel white tiger or lost puddle jumper type of board)? other vid ideas: - surf forecasting/reading buoys - tips for surfing small waves/groveling
@@ShralpStoriesdon’t the AM2s force you out wider on your turn I like the AM2 on longer wave On a beaches I find they push me out to the flats not back near pocket May be my surfing is bad also lol
Some good quality info here. Another good episode. Got to be one of the best and most underrated channels out there.
So many Pros use the MFanning fin. Kolohe's fin model is a carbon copy of it also. Good demonstration on the best way to compare fins.
Cheers , good episode , fins can make such a difference to performance , great to mix it up a bit ! ✌🙏
Great info. Thanks for sharing.Fins definitely change the performance on our board's.
💯 AM2 is the go to and adjust from there.
Shine On ☝️🕊️✌️🤙🤗😃🪶

Yeah I start with the am2 in all my 3 fin surfboards. Then change it up from there based on what I need out of the board
