Steam tells me that I've spent 1,715 hours playing Skyrim. I still haven't completed the main quest line. Mostly because I never want it to be done. I have completed juniper meads however and they are delicious. Look forward to trying this recipe!
I always dread looking at my hours played. . . How many days have been zapped away! I have never started the main quests, the wife keeps joking that I have never been to see the Grey Beards yet! There are just so many side quests and fun to be had without chasing the main! Hop you enjoyed the video and please do let us know how this mead goes when you try it!
If you lift the funnel a tiny amount before pouring, you will not get any if that spluttering because the air doesn't have to escape through the funnel as you fill the demijohn. If you need two hands slip a match between the funnel and the neck of the demijohn just to leave a tiny air gap 😉
Lovely video but I wonder if you might get more flavor from the juniper berries if you crush berries a little and add the berries to the secondary fermenter. That is, add them to the mead once you have racked the mead off the lees. That way you get the alcohol to extract the flavor and not the water (alcohol being a more powerful solvent than water). You can then leave the berries in the mead for as long or as little time as you like - much like using alcohol to extract flavors from fruit or spices when you make liqueurs like limoncello.
Big fan of your videos and 4 years experience making mead. I live in California. Picked some juniper berries up in the mountains last spring. Going to try this recipe tomorrow. I’ll let you know how it goes next year! Hahaha
I try to keep it as warm as I can - so in the living room, some where between 15c and 30c is optimum, and with out fluctuations - that is the hard part!
@@FranLuckyflute I've noticed a decline in the audio quality on the camera over a few videos now - so today I have ordered a new microphone! Hopefully there will be a noticeable improvement in the next few videos!
“I wonder if Vilod is still making that mead with juniper berries mixed in.”

Very nice, very informative. Wish I'd seen this 3 months ago. but think I'll give it a go within a week or so.
God, you love yourself
I do yes, thank you for your kind words.
Can you link the review on this one?

How did it come out?
i swear this dudes voice is like asmr :)
Morning just wondering what temperature you keep your wine at after racking

I have it on a heat mat in outdoor bar. Ambient temperature is roughly 12c
Sorry the bar was a big shed
My told me she has dried juniper berries in the house. And I have a gallon of honey!
I hate to admit that i did come here because of skyrim lol
Would be great with a sweet roll.
You're finally awake, you we're trying to cross the border right?
Why is your geiger counter going nuts in the background?
Strange noise sounds like an electrical short🤔
That would be the auto focus on the camera, one of the things we are looking to rectify in the next couple of weeks!
Oh sorry...I was not complaining, just concerned.
